"The cottage is in an amazing location and actually one of the best parts of town."
Very quiet at night. Parking can be tricky but as long as you don’t bother with the one at the bottom of the hill (which isn’t even listed on the council website and trip advisor reviews of it are dreadful) and use Asda carpark or council offices via the just park app there’s no problem. Bit of a steep hill and steps up to the road where cottage is, so just take it slow. But managed to park right outside also. A couple of steps down to the road is marked as no parking so this makes a handy little load/unloading bay. The place was clean and a very well equipped kitchen but a bit tatty here and there, bumps and scrapes but this is because lots of people that rent places don’t take care. The little outside loo is great when there are six of you but the door to it and the whole courtyard need some TLC. But having a table and chairs provided meant for a nice sunny outside breakfast. The stairs inside are very steep and there are a few step’s around the house like up into kitchen from dinning room and lounge but only a few centimetres high and as the floor all one colour throughout I think it needs something to highlight the different levels. I tripped up on both when first arriving. Steps into front door and out to courtyard rather high. I’m mentioning all this because I feel it needs more details about them on website descriptions, “due to being such an old cottage so expect steep stairs and many different levels” It could possibly do with a second set of keys. The safe was also tricky at times to open and could do with a small light sensor so arriving home after dark we wouldn’t have had to use torches on phone. Beds were comfy and linen clean, towels also. Shower and bathroom facilities were good. My only concern I had was in one twin room there was a tv, great to have as if you had a couple of kids you may want to put them in there. But the bedroom furniture was all glass mirrored and although looking very glamorous it could be dangerous. And on the bedside table between the 2 beds the glass was all chipped right along the protruding edge. It didn’t feel too sharp but I think with a little bit of horseplay, as kids do, and someone falling on that there would be quite a nasty injury. I really do hope this gets looked at.

"Ocean swell was just what we needed and perfect spot for us ."
We didn’t have any problems really . Garden could be made to look better . Maybe put tv in one off the single bedrooms for the children. Living room was good space . Kitchen was clean and had everything we needed. Shower was good to . Parking can be a bit off a pain but we did manage 2 get a spot right outside off house on 3rd day . Over all yes we would stop in ocean swell again

"Garden furniture had not been cleaned from what looked like last summer and had to pull weeds out garden to access washing machine."
there was a flood infront of front door which had clearly been there for months although once we reported it it was dealt with promptly but surely the cleaners would have noticed this? overall the property was what I expected for the price. having never been to weymouth I wasn't sure about location but it was perfect!

"Lovely house."
Parking is a problem as road is very narrow with jutting steps. Downstairs TV not working, not a problem for us as we where out a lot. Dishwasher out of housing which we fixed. Needs large baking trays and bowls. Overall though lovely house great location, really enjoyed. Only a short walk downhill to great pubs, restaurants, the lovely Hope Square and Harbour, little land train to beach. Would definitely go again.

"Property is in a great location, easy to walk to all amenities."
Decor is in need of refreshing, with paint peeling off in places. No parking at all, as street so narrow. There was a small car park nearby which we only found on our last day, this possibly could be utilised by guests at the property. There was no information about the local area, things to do etc. Also no information about the refuse collection/recycling. This would have been helpful. On a more positive note, the beds were very comfortable. We had a lovely time whilst in Weymouth, lots to see and do.

"The house being on a steep climb is not suitable for the elderly."
We had to be very careful on the staircase with the oar bannister. Parents with small children would certainly have to be supervised on the staircase.

"Good location as only 2 minute walk from the harbour."
House was very disappointing and was equivalent of 2 star accommodation. Some of the comments have already been written before, such as dirty floors, smelly kitchen and snails falling from under the back door when it rains. The house has been renovated cheaply & to a poor standard; the damp proof course has failed so the paint is peeling off the walls in the living room. Beds were really uncomfortable and I had to buy a new pillow after 3 nights of poor sleep. The fridge is old & doesn't work properly and the microwave is rusty. Shower only suits someone under 5'10" and is in poor condition. Overall very disappointed for the price that I paid.

"Great quiet location right by the old harbour next to Hope Square with restaurants, pubs, shop, Northe Gardens and the sea all within a short walk."
Easy walk to the beach which is lovely. The house has everything you need. As the bathroom height is restricted very tall people may find the shower difficult to use.
We would definitely come back.

"We have just returned from a weeks stay at Ocean Swell and another lovely holiday in Weymouth."
Our comments on the property itself would be that at the time of booking, the property description detailed 3 cloakroom and WCs, one in the bathroom, one on the ground floor and one assessed externally from the patio. There was in fact no cloakroom and WC on the ground floor, which was one of the reasons we booked this property. We visited the Dream Cottages office twice to point out the inaccuracy in the description and on the second visit this wasn't altogether accepted but after an uneasy conversation we were begrudgingly offered a £50 discount off our next booking.
We now see that the description has been updated to remove the reference to a ground floor cloakroom and WC.
Please can you advise how we go about receiving the discount, as we have, as a family, already booked a property with you for next year.
Other comments; although the property was cleaned to an acceptable standard, the shower tray was overflowing on first use and the reason was that there was a mouse sized hair ball in the plug hole. Once this was removed, not a pleasant job!, the water drained away no problem. The DVD player did not work, but this was quickly replaced with a new one.

"Disappointed with the parking situation, it's very hard to find on street parking, a parking permit would be very beneficial."
Considering you are giving extra time to the cleaners, to make sure the properties are thoroughly cleaned due to covid, we didnt feel this was the case, the floors were dirty (our white socks were black, the first day) I dont believe they had been mopped (surely it would have smelt fresh after a quick mop)? Also there were long black hairs in various places.
The house smelt of Indian food even after leaving an air freshener on the doorstep for us, it still didnt get rid of the smell.
The wooden plinth at the end of the bed felt tacky and not clean.
For a family staying away for a week, I thought it would be beneficial for there to be oven trays and sauce pans for cooking?

"Ideal location suited us as a family with a 3 year old and a 6 year old."
Wouldn’t recommend it for a less agile person due to very steep stairs up to first floor. Nice patio area outside safe for the children to play in . Close to local shops wonderful pubs and restaurants to suit all tastes. Had a very good week

"Very close to Weymouth harbour and shops, and a short walk to the beach."
Parking spaces are tricky to come by, but we still managed to find a spot close by after returning each evening. Quite steep and narrow stair case to first floor which was a little tricky with young children, but we kept the doors closed to the dining area/stairs and was no real issue.
Property was comfortable and is described accurately overall, and suited our needs just fine. We would happily stay again.

"The cottage I think could do with a deep clean lot of cobwebs & we had slugs in doors not sure how they got in!"
! The folder with information needs to updated lots of things out of date.
It was a shame the garden furniture was NOT already out for us to use it was all covered up. The cottage did what we needed close to town easy to get too. The key safe of the wall is a good Idea.
Dishwasher was smell, if not being used still needs to wash through now & again. There is a high-pitched noise we think was coming from the Wi-Fi Router in the front room & the master bedroom little bit irritant once you hear it
