"The property is lovely and the location is great."
We had a really nice holiday.

"We have just spent a wonderful week in Weymouth."
Staying, Once again in Reaver in Shirehorse mews. It suits us very well. It is comfortable, well equipped and well maintained. I would not hesitate to recommend it. The parking is an enormous bonus in Weymouth. Shirehorse mews is close to the beach, the Nothe, newtons cove and plenty of good eating places are found but a stone throws away.. we had a wonderful week. Thank you.
-
"We really enjoyed our stay at Reaver cottage."
The location by the harbour was good and with parking opposite the cottage it was perfect for our week.
-
"We had a lovely stay in Reaver, on our arrival we was greeted with a lovely Dorset Happy Hamper and a pint of milk which was such a lovely thought."
Accommodation was clean and comfortable and had everything you could need for a relaxed holiday. Secure parking is a bonus and being able to leave you car and walk everywhere is great.
-
"2nd time stopping at reaver."
Clean, lovely welcome pack including pint of milk! Great location close to all amenities & private parking which is important in Weymouth as finding a space can be difficult at peak times. . 3 loo's is great for a family.
-
"We loved the cottage, liked the fact that we felt secure there."
The welcome pack and bottle of milk were as described, very welcoming. We enjoyed our holiday very much. Thank you.

"My partner, my mother, myself and our dog have recently returned from a stay at ..."
My partner, my mother, myself and our dog have recently returned from a stay at Reaver cottage, we stayed in the same property in 2023, upon arrival we met the owners of the properties in the mews and I’d like to say how pleasant they were, they engaged in conversation and it was a pleasure having a chat with them both, they explained how they were in the process of completing some work on one of the other properties, Re Reaver we like this property as it has everything we need ( we have previously stayed at Footprint cottage & Rupert cottage and all live up to expectations ) upon our arrival into Reaver there was once again a small welcome pack which contained biscuits, coffee, tea bags and chocolate bar and some sugar sachets , there was also a fresh bottle of milk in fridge, this was very thoughtful and much appreciated, the property itself is perfect and location is ideal as only a short walk into town, allocated parking and gated access makes the stay worry free, I can not think of any negatives and this is why we will once again be looking to return, these properties are popular and we can see why, Thank you for an enjoyable stay, we look forward to returning
Thank you for your lovely feedback. It was so nice meeting you all too. We are glad you had a great holiday, and hope you can come back to Shire Horse Mews in the future. Property Owner

"Beautiful property, fantastic location, incredibly clean, would stay again."
Walked into town beach most days as just a short stroll away!
-
"The cottage is great."
Maybe you can look at the dining table. It wobbels. We think that the screws need a good tightening.
-
"Mirror in main bathroom would not turn off , sensor for light not working."
Parking not enough room to get in , when there was a four by four truck parked next to you .
-
"Firstly we were booked into Goliath which was having works done literally right outside the front door so the owner moved us into another one of their properties the day we were due to arrive."
This was a godsend as no way could we have stayed in Goliath with the works going on. So Reaver…..Double bed really uncomfortable we didn’t sleep well at all sadly …the en-suite shower needs some drain un-blocker as it’s a bit smelly and the water doesn’t go down very quickly These are not negatives just something to think about Positives….We thoroughly enjoyed our stay it’s a beautiful property and the welcome hamper was a lovely touch. Location amazing and it really feels like home. Thank you for letting us stay. Have already recommended to friends and family

"Lovely property and a lovely welcome gift on arrival which was a nice touch."
Thank you

"Second visit to Reaver, very clean and tidy."
The 'Welcome Pack', reinstated post-Covid, was a lovely thing too. But, best of all, the cottage has a brand new dishwasher - so new that I think it had only been installed the morning we arrived and we were the first users? Only because it was absolutely spotless and needed the usual dishwasher salt, rinse aid and detergent tablet installing. Very swish, very quick and incredibly welcome. Thank you! The 'little house' was, as before, just perfect. Comfortable, very clean, everything we needed; the kitchen equipment and crockery have been upgraded too. Incredibly quiet location (it's why we go to those Mews cottages) with the huge bonus of safe, under-cover parking in the former stables. We were so incredibly lucky with the weather, Weymouth at its' best, it didn't rain until the last day when we were leaving anyway. So paddling (and swimming) at Sandsfoot and the Nothe was just perfect. We had booked for the same week next year before we left.
-
"Reaver was a very comfortable cottage to stay in."
It is well equipped, the beds are incredibly comfortable and we all slept well. For me, the large shower head was magical!… The parking is such a bonus as Weymouth parking is notoriously difficult and expensive. Reaver is very central, near Brewers quay, not far from the beach . We had a wonderful week there. Thank you.

"A well equipped and comfortable property in a great location, just a short walk to the harbour or the coastal path."
Easy access to many pubs, cafes, restaurants. Parking on site is a bonus but it is very tight and hard for a big car. Would be helpful to have some cladding around the pole by the parking space to assist in avoiding scratches to car. The milk in the fridge and hamper from Happy Hampers was a welcome surprise. The owners have ensured this is a comfortable place to stay in and relax.
-
"Excellent location, clean and tidy holiday let."
Only downfalls are the toilet seat in downstairs loo falls down, the window catches could do with tightning up, dinning table chair legs are a bit wobbly and the boiler does'nt fire up in the morning we had to press the ignition button a few times to get it going otherwise lovely and would book again.
-
"We're returning visitors to Reaver and think of it as our second home."
The Happy Hamper & Craig's Farm milk were a welcome surprise. Nearby building works may deter other visitors but we were aware of this before we booked.
-
"Reaver is in a Fabulous location, the owners were very attentive and left us a welcome hamper that was a lovely touch, parking behind the secure gates is an added bonous."
Reaver is perfect for a couple or family of 4 . We love using Dream Cottages to book up our holiday home choice with them & hope to rebook Reaver next year. Mrs Brindley.

"Great parking - undercover in a gated community"
-
"Ideal location and excellent facilities in cottage"
-
"The only criticism is the parking is very tight if you have a big car."
It would be handy if you could park in the car park adjoining.
Hi, many thanks for your feedback, Unfortunately the adjoining car park is privately owned and has a parking eye camera set up on it which immediately spots anyone failing to buy a parking ticket for that car park. We are glad you enjoyed your stay. the Owners Property Owner

"Great location to access town, Chesil Beach and a short cycle to Portland along the trail."
House is lovely with bonus of parking. Welcome Hamper was a treat. One comment for consideration - there is only space in the lounge for 3 people to comfortably sit - we were two adults and two 17 year olds - one of us had to sit on floor or a dining room chair in the evening.
Hello, thank you for the feedback. The sofas we purchased for the property were from DFS and were marketed as a three seater sofa and a matching single sofa chair, hence we had hoped we were catering for the four people the property accommodates. We have now also purchased a small additional sofa chair and added this to the room to provide extra sofa seating. Property Owner

"Enjoyed our stay in this clean and well equipped cottage despite the wet and windy weather!"
Very well situated for all amenities in Weymouth and the car was safely parked inside the gate .Close to the beach ,harbour ,restaurants ,supermarket etc you needn’t use the car all week .Buses close by to Dorchester ,Lyme Regis ,Portland etc handy for pensioners with a bus pass!! Lovely Dorset hamper much appreciated as was the milk in the fridge .
-
"The cottage is in a brilliant location!"
There are 3 toilets which is a bonus and the parking is brilliant, with the property being gated you feel very safe! The double bed is wedged between 2 bedside cabinets and is really soft which was uncomfortable but other than that, lovely stay.
-
"The 'little house' was everything we expected and very clean and comfortable."
Recently installed walk-in shower absolutely brilliant, loads of storage space and more hangers than even I can manage to fill!!! Couple of question marks though. The dishwasher was not great; the plastic-coated dishracks had rust breaking through all the racks; they should be replaced. Crockery collection was plentiful but a tad eclectic! No breakfast bowls, but a dozen pasta plates. 6 large dinner plates, three of which had chunks missing from the edges. Bathroom mirror light switch could not be turned off. Downstairs loo very noisy flush, obvious signs of plumbing problems with the wall behind the loo having been re-plastered. We have learned by experience to take our own duvets; it might be October, but 13.5 tog duvets are really too heavy when 7 or 9.5 tog would be comfortably sufficient. However, the 'Dorset Tea Basket' on arrival, complete with tea, sugar, fresh milk, gorgeous biscuits, chocolate, was very welcome and something we had not seen on any of our previous visits over the last 3 years (I guess a victim of Covid restrictions). Weymouth, as always, wonderful; we walked miles every day, paddled in our favourite places, discovered that our favourite harbourside cafe was still open (not full time, it is getting to end of season of course). Sunshine every day. But restaurant meal prices are getting prohibitive in places.

"Cottage bijou with great location near the harbour ."
However felt the cottage needed some updating , especially the paintwork in the living room and the stained wall in the downstairs toilet. Stripped the beds as requested before leaving but was dismayed on how grubby the single duvet was in the twin room . We had slept under the duvet for a week not realising it was so dirty and below standard .
-
"Lovely clean cottage ideally situated close to the beach front and everything weymouth has to offer."
Everything required for our stay was there and the ofr road parking and courtyard were private. Would definitely recommend.
-
"Really nice little property in a row with other similar houses."
The gates make it feel secure and safe and it really is ideally located to explore Weymouth and also get out and about in the car to other places. Overall the property was nice, lovely bathrooms and perfect size for our little family. Mostly clean and sparkly but a couple of areas could do with a more thorough dust. However the beds were all really uncomfortable, the washing machine hard to operate and the dishwasher a waste of time as it didn't clean properly. Other than that it was a perfect base for our holiday and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, thank you.
-
"The property had everything you need when staying away from home."
Clean and homely and close by to the harbour, beach, restaurants and town centre. The guide button on the remote didn’t work so to search channels you had to use the channel button to go up and down. Not a big thing just annoying at the end of a long day at the beach. I would highly recommend Reaver Cottage.
-
"We had a lovely stay in Reaver, very comfy and clean."
The only thing we would say needs to be made aware of is the parking space as we really struggled to get our Ford Focus in the space provided. I would also say that within the property there are a few marks on the walls in various rooms that could just do with either a wipe down or a fresh coat of paint. Apart from that it was a lovely stay and we would use reaver again and recommend to those with smaller cars than us.
-
"We have visited Reaver several times and it never fails to please."
We especially appreciate the parking and the proximity to the harbour along with the comfort and the fact it is very well equipped. Our only problem lay with the key box. We had no trouble opening it but we found it impossible to put the key back in and shut it, as did our neighbour. In the end we put the key through the letterbox of Dream cottages’ office, fortunately just round the corner.

"The Property was very clean and tidy."
We had a minor glitch securing internet access as we did not realise until the following day that the internet modem had been switched off at the mains. So we did spend a few wasted hours on arrival trying to gain access to the web. So do check that it is switched on. The TV broke down two days during our stay but was quickly put right by the "Dream Cottage/Sykes" team almost immediately. So nothing but praise for all concerned there. Although there is private parking, we found it very tight and difficult to comfortably park the cars in the small space provided. The property occupant next door and I, were always moving cars to allow each other to get in and out of our vehicles. I/We genuinely saw no real reason why we could not just park right outside our property. Just one point for the attention of the Owner, and your team. The Duvets on all our beds were far far too heavy, and we did not always enjoy the best night's sleep as we had to keep throwing them off for us to cool down and then pulling them back on again. Even our Winter duvets at home are about half the weight of your duvets. On the whole, though, we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday there and would not hesitate to recommend this property to everyone.
-
"Lovely property 5 mins from the harbour."
Having a designated parking spot was brilliant. Everything we needed was provided in the house, perfect for the 4 of us.
-
"On the whole the standard of accommodation was what we have come to expect over the years from Dream Cottages, very high."
However the en-suite shower in the main bedroom would only heat up to Luke warm at best. Also the internet wasn’t working. I did advise you of both and it was my choice to live with the shower problem for our stay, and you did fix the internet problem very quickly. Only other negative comment was that if you were watching tv via the WiFi if you walked anywhere near the WiFi box the signal was blocked and the tv returned to the free view sign on screen. Very annoying as we found to maintain a signal to the tv we had to keep the living room door open which didn’t help to keep the room warm. These are minor niggles but do need sorting out. We still enjoyed our stay and will book again through a Dream Cottages over the coming year.
-
"It is very comfortable and well equipped, it was good to have a parking space."
The shower is exceptionally good and the WiFi very reliable.
-
"Our fourth stay in Reaver and it still delivers on all fronts, with all our boxes ticked."
Love the new TV. A super relaxing holiday (the weather helped) and we hope to return next year.
-
"Our second time staying at Reaver."
Excellent weeks holiday. We paid £544. The same week next year has increased to £853. Sorry but now we won’t be booking next year!!
-
"Property itself was lovely and would definatly stay here again although the only issue we had was that we cannot get in now until 5pm due due the properties having to have a deeper clean due to COVID - on the surface it was great but skirting boards were very dusty and tops of picture frames also."
I feel this should be done and the property should be completely 100% clean.
-
"We always enjoy our holiday in reaver, and being in Weymouth and we have always enjoyed our holidays there."
reaver was first class as always the only thing was the pillows were a little bit too hard for me. going home took 8hours with traffic jams and 7hours getting to weymouth.
-
"A small welcome pack would have been nice."
No Oven gloves. Could do with extension leads as some of the plugs are behind beds, sofa etc.
-
"The cottage was very nice however would have been too small for three people Iwas expecting to do some niceshopping at Brewers Quary but this was closed for refurbishment ."
Your photo showing this needs to be removed

"Lovely cottage, well located, although parking is tight and awkward."
Reaver is a lovely cottage, very bright and clean, well-maintained and with almost everything you could need. We found the wi-fi completely un-useable, but we always travel with our own wi-fi hotspot as we need reliable, speedy internet connection for checking in with work. My husband needed to work 1.5 days of our holiday, and if we'd relied on Reaver's wi-fi, it would have been a problem. It was lovely to have two full bathrooms, plus the cloakroom downstairs, and all were very clean. Plenty of towels provided, and small cakes of soap for each bathroom sink. Lots of hot water, and good pressure in the showers. Beds were very comfortable, the duvets in the twin bedroom were cosier than that in the main bedroom, which suited us as I need a cooler bed to have a good sleep, while my husband needs a warmer bed. Kitchen is very well kitted out, aside from needing a much better tin opener (there are two, and neither worked very well). Be aware that in order to shut the fridge completely, it needs to make a sort of squeaky, friction noise, as the door is not completely aligned - not an issue, but if you forget, the fridge may be left a bit ajar. Television is Freeview, but appears to have some of the streaming services as well (we did not use any of those). There is a small wooden deck outside the front door, and 2 new chairs with cushions and table were delivered during our stay - lovely and comfortable for sitting outside in the sun. The parking is great to have, but it is very tight and awkward - the distance between the terrace of houses and the garage area makes the manoeuvring a bit tricky. If you are not comfortable or confident with parking in quite limited space, or you have a big car, Reaver's parking space might be a challenge for you. For us, we hadn't planned to use the car more than once, and in the end we arrived, parked, and didn't move the car until we left again, so it was okay. The parking space has a pillar to work around, and bins at the back. We like this area of Weymouth to stay in, and Reaver's specific location was great - out the pedestrian gate through the car park to Hope Square in about 2 minutes, or to the coastal walks starting at Newton's Cove in even less. Ideal for getting to all of Weymouth's shops, attractions, and drinking/dining options on foot, so very relaxing to not have to be driving all the while.
-
"Still as good in Weymouth as it was when I was younger."
Plenty of places to eat and drink plus people are very friendly. Small shop just down the road for when you need bits and pieces. Hope to go again in 2021.
-
"The location of Reaver in the old area of Weymouth is a real delight, as well as the security and parking on the site."
The property is warm and everything we needed was supplied, with all decor, furnishings and kitchen needs in excellent condition. A relaxed comfortable atmosphere. It was lovely to be in a mews that had been part of the local history, as well as easy walking to all places of interest. Direct and easy connection with the main roads through and out of town was a bonus. Just a small point of surprise was the very lightweight cover on the double bed, I do think a reserve extra throw should be supplied. I used my own extra blanket. Also some better explanation in use of technology controls for the TV etc, along with a tourist town map leaflet would be a welcome addition. We had a delightful stay and hope to book again in the future, it's a great place for days out into beautiful Dorset.
-
"Our third consecutive year at Reaver and we are already discussing which week to book for next year."
A super property with everything that we need and nothing that we don't (although we don't get around to using the washing machine!). I do miss the old "Pre-Covid" welcome pack, but such is life. See you next year (virus permitting).
-
"The outside table needs to be replaced to be in keeping with the high standard of the rest of the property."
-
"We have used Dream Cottages for many years since our daughter was young, it was great this year to stay again in Reaver , we even re created a photo taken ten years a go !"
!! Just love how it doesn't matter which cottage/apartment we choose in Weymouth ( and we've stayed in a few !) we always have a brilliant holiday with no issues. Will be booking again for next year! Can't thank Dream Cottages enough.
-
"Really enjoyed this holiday comfortable house not to far away from harbour and shops,"
-
"Our second stay in this property and we hope to return again next year."
Perfect for our needs with everything that we want in a great location. On the maintenance front the extract fan in the cloakroom is quite noisy and a couple of the dining room chairs need their legs to be tightened (requires an allen key). Please do not consider this to be in any way a complaint, it is simply hopefully helpful comment.
-
"A really lovely cottage in a very good/convenient location."
Plenty of space for 4 adults. Very well equipped. BUT.....the double bed was cruelly hard! We were especially spoiled by the sunny weather and the really good local restaurants serving wonderful seafood. We particularly recommend the Nothe Tavern The Information/Advice re parking a second car was especially helpful.
-
"Good location."
Very clean and tidy
-
"This was our fourth visit to Reaver and we particularly like the idea of being in a gated community for privacy."
Whilst there is a designated parking space in double bays it can be a bit tight if two large cars are using the bay.. I know our next door neighbour found that difficult this time. renovation works were going on in the house next door which caused noise, banging, sawing and drilling, even on Bank holiday Monday so we were awakened quite early, well early for someone on holiday that is! this went on for most of the week with tradesmen in and out and commercial vehicles parked outside both theirs and our accommodation. We did lodge a complaint and whilst not expected we did receive some compensation for the inconvenience caused. All things considered and for the convenient location of Reaver we would consider re-booking again.
-
"We were pleased with the cottage but felt that the furnishings, e."
G. bedding and bath towels etc needing updating. The bed coverings were very worn and there was even a tear in the sheets. The quilts very lightweight and were not warm enough on cold nights. The bathroom towels were worn quite thin and actually stained in places. We just felt it was well worn and could have done with a makeover. Was disappointed with the lack of extras. Although there was some tea and coffee on arrival it would have been nice to have been left some milk so we could have had a cup of tea after our journey before we could get some shopping in. On the whole it is a very nice cottage situated in a secure gated site, but just felt it lacked the niceties and little extras that we have found in other rental properties we have stayed at.
-
"We had a very lovely stay, the cottage was very clean, every thing we needed was there."
The only thing I would say is to have better quality mattresses . Overall we would definitely come back and stay. We are contemplating coming back may , let us know if there are any special offers. Thank you Suzanne

The rear gate of shire horse mews has a combination lock to 're enter the properties this only worked sporadically more often than not we would have to use the front electric gates
-
"We enjoyed our stay in Reaver."
The accomadation was very nice quality and made excellent use of the size of the property. Three toilets in a two bed was very useful. The only slight negative was the plaster board walls between properties as they were once I believe stables and obviously had no upstairs in the distant past. It meant music and loud talking could be heard through the wall on occasion. A pair of scissors in the kitchen and a descent tin opener would be a small improvement to an otherwise excellent property in a fantastic location the right side of Weymouth high street.
-
"Property was very clean and tidy."
Good location.Really nice to have parking in a secure place - stayed June 2018

"Another superb holiday at "Reaver", Weymouth."

About the location
BREWERS QUAY HARBOUR
Dorchester 8.7 miles; West Lulworth 15.8 miles
Brewers Quay is the old Victorian brewery situated at the heart of the harbour, in Weymouth, Dorset. Much of the grade II listed complex and surrounding brewery buildings date from the late 1800 early 1900’s and many have stones inlaid commemorating their construction year. This area is now a popular destination with many restaurants, café and bars, creating a vibrant culture, where you can relax with a drink and watch the world go by. Tucked away down the harbourside streets, you will find original Tudor harbour buildings, estimated to have been built in 1600 and well worth a visit, with a very interesting history to share. You will also find the Weymouth Museum, with some incredible exhibitions, and the harbour is also home to the lifting bridge, where you can watch the luxury yachts head out to sea, and then walk over the bridge to the town's winding streets of boutique shops and the seafront esplanade and beach. There is more to this seaside town than meets the eye; Brewers Quay is a much-loved holiday destination in Weymouth!
