  • "We had a lovely stay at Altair."

It was everything and more that was promised. It was so comfortable and well laid out. The garden looked lovely, but due to the weather we were not able to sit out in it. It was in a great position to explore that island. There was a very good welcome pack, along with information of where to eat, supermarkets and places of interest.

  • "We had a lovely holiday at Altair."

It is 5 mins walk from Colwell Bay beach. The beds are very comfortable, the property is spacious, the kitchen has loads of equipment. We loved the garden and the playroom was great for the 2 children with us. We loved going to the Needles, walking on Tennyson Down and seeing dinosaur footprints on Compton beach. A great highlight was Tapnell Farm Park.

  • "We had a great week."

Four adults and two young children, we were all very comfortable and had everything we needed. The owners have set the property up extremely well, there are toys and games for youngsters, good garden facilities etc. The property is ideally situated for the beach - a very short walk, but far enough not to be inconvenienced by the very noisy bar. (NB there’s no accessible sand at high tide, but it’s great for kids when the water is lower.) The owners took time to send us a welcome message on our first evening to check we were happy. We had a couple of minor problems/queries and they were very responsive and got everything sorted very quickly. We would suggest a couple of improvements: 1) curtains at the small window in the second bedroom - the blind alone lets too much light in very early in the morning. 2) trim back the bamboo hedge on the road boundary to improve visibility when exiting the drive. There is parking for two good size cars on the drive. It’s a little awkward and took us a couple of days to work out the best way to get it right, but it’s definitely do-able. Over all we loved it. Thank you for a great holiday stay.

  • "We had a wonderful holiday staying at the property, and would definitely stay at Altair again, just a few things that would have made our stay even more enjoyable."

Both the front and back doors require adjustment, found them very difficult to lock and unlock. The shower head in the main bathroom leaked from the hose connection. The light in the kitchen, two bulbs were not working and made the kitchen look dim when switched on. Other than that, we had a great time staying at Altair and would recommend it.

Very many thanks for your feedback. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay at Altair. Thank you also for the constructive comments. We have just had a new front door installed and are also in the process of replacing the kitchen (and lighting). We’ll update photos on the website. And we’ll look into bathroom shower - thank you for flagging. Property Owner
