  • "Conveniently situated property with easy access to Ayr town centre, motorway to Glasgow and rail connections Supermarket and car refueling station 2 minutes walk across the road."

House provides all the facilities for 6 people and more. Owner is helpful with any questions or emergencies.

  • "The property was a beautiful home centrally located within walking distance of a major supermarket and the high street."

Although the home was in a busy area it was very quiet inside. It was a large and comfortable house which was extremely clean and looked newly renovated. The beds were super comfortable and the showers had very good water pressure and we did not run out of hot water. It was bright and airy inside and I would definitely stay there again.

  • "Willowbank was lovely and warm, spacious and clean."

There were only the 3 of us staying there so plenty of room. The loo on the landing wasn’t great for my 91 year old mother at night but we managed! It’s a lovely house - although the location - not near the seaside, on a main road but great for Morrisons! And near the railway station. Hope Ayr station will reopen soon!

  • "Lovely large house, very clean and tidy."

Off street parking and ideal for Ayr town centre, train station and a Morrisons across the road. Lovely large modern kitchen very well equipped. Two newly refurbished ensuites in the double bedrooms BUT there was no toilet in them. The sinks were extremely small and inaccessible due to the situation of the mirror glass shelf, which in the rear bedroom was broken on arrival, we assume due to the tight space to use the sink and dry from the shower. There is a bathroom on the mid floor and a downstairs cloakroom (with no radiator so extremely cold in there). There were some maintenance issues requiring attention, particularly the front door looks like it requires replacing, it gives a bad impression of the property on the approach, but the property is beautifully done. The big issue for us was the noise and light pollution in the front bedrooms from broken and poorly fitted blinds which were not black out ones and with no curtains there was an awful lot of noise, light and draft pollution from them. In order for our children to sleep we had to drape blankets over the windows. Overall we loved our stay in this large and beautiful old house, it just requires a little attention in the areas mentioned to be just perfect! We did, however, feel that the owners are in the processing of sorting these issues out.

  • "Well-equipped house in excellent position - Morrisons opposite and handy for town."

Listing needs updating - we had to ask Sykes to ask owners about parking, which is now available at rear of property. (NOT side street, which is residents only). Also think house would accommodate more than 5. Certainly 2 children in little room with pull-out bed. Gave up using sink in bedroom shower room as water very slow to drain away. Surprised at no information book/file, and no visitor book for comments. Loved Ayr and its surroundings.

  • "Willowbank is a lovely, spacious house located in a central position for shopping in Ayr."

The house was very clean and contained all the necessary mod cons including a well equipped kitchen with dishwasher and washing machineThere were two sitting rooms and lots of videos and books provided. As described two en-suite double bedrooms (without a toilet) and a single bedroom. Showers were really good. Main bathroom had a shower, bath and toilet. It was perfect having "Morrisons" right opposite for daily shopping!. We would recommend this house for a short or longer stay.

  • "This well provided house is still a work in progress as the outside gates seem to be temporary."

We were comfortable, converiently placed and there was space for bicycles in a corner of the garden. There was a set of excellent cooking knives - often lacking in rental cottages. Points to note Parking by the house is permit holders only. Free parking is 1 or 2 streets away. This caused no problem as we could unload by the house. Downstairs toilet drainage is dodgy - water gurgles in thewashhand basin when you flush the toilet. A towel rail there would be useful. A wee shelf & wall light for reading etc would improve the small bedroom.

  • "Small bedroom bed/mattress springs sore to lay on and every time you moved you could hear the sound of the springs."

Toilet downstairs had no lock, and the water came way up in the toilet sometimes when flushed.when you washed your hands the water gurgled and bubbles would rise. The whole house was spotlessly clean and all newly fitted bathrooms, a wee bit disappointed no toilets in bedrooms. I still would highly recommend this house 100%

  • "Very disappointed to get a parking ticket within 15 minutes of arrival."

After following your instructions not to park at the front of the property but on the side street. If we had not been so hot and frazzled we might have spotted that this was for residents only between 5pm and 10am. This was NOT clear in your listing details. Also we found mouldy teabags in the teapot which had been there for some time. Despite cleaning this out I could not face the thought of the taint and brewed my tea in a mug throughout. There were also dirty trays for cooking in the oven which we could not understand why these had not been cleaned as there is a perfectly good dishwasher! While we managed the heat by closing the blinds and opening windows as appropriate. You might like to consider a small electric fan for the future comfort of guests.

  • "This is a superb property."

It is a beautiful large property. Well maintained. It is a modern well equipped property while retaining the period features. Facilities were top notch. Plenty of equipment. It is minutes from town centre and has easy access to tourist attractions. I will certainly book this again when I have family visiting and have already recommended it to others

So pleased you enjoyed your stay. Thanks for your very kind comments. Hope to see you again. Property Owner
