"The Cabin was perfect for our stay last week!"
Nothing was too much trouble and everything required was supplied to us on arrival! I've stayed in multiple cabins and houses on Skye over the last 15 years..... this is the first one I intend to return to !!!!
-
"Great reception from friendly owners who were also supportive throughout our stay."
The Cabin is lovely and we felt very relaxed there. Very peaceful. Disapppointed that we couldn’t get down to the loch but it was only a short drive to park at Harlosh and walk out to the point - beautiful.
-
"We had an amazing time at The Cabin."
Debbie and Barry were the perfect hosts. On arrival there was a home-made loaf of bread, milk and wine. A great way to start our holiday. The Cabin is well equipped, with just about everything you need to hand and very cosy. A beautiful bedroom, great bathroom and a lovely kitchen. It was perfectly situated for exploring Skye and Dunvegan is a lovely village. We would highly recommend a stay here and hope we can return soon.

"The property was exceptional."
It had everything you could possibly need for your stay. Views from the cabin were picture postcard. It is also in close proximity to a bakery, and eating places,

"Barry and Debbie were the perfect hosts."
Advising us on where to go, what to see and where to shop. And a most welcome find in the fridge of milk and wine and home baked bread for us. Very friendly and so helpful without being intrusive in any way. Everything you could possibly need in the cabin too. It was a lovely find.
-
"Great base to explore the Isle of Skye."
Everything you need, clean and comfortable. We had a wonderful stay made better by the sun shining everyday! Thanks Debbie and Barry.
-
"Debbie and Barry were so welcoming, their homemade bread on arrival was delicious and the cabin was absolutely perfect!"
Having such wonderful hosts and beautiful accommodation turned a tough week to get overcome into a delightful and memorable week away. The cabin is spacious, beautifully decorated and has every utensil and home essential you can think of and more. We will definitely be recommending and looking to stay again in the future - thanks for an amazing week away!

"Barry and Debbie are amongst the very best hosts we have ever stayed with through Sykes."
Friendly, personable and very welcoming throughout our holiday. The cabin itself was immaculately clean, beautifully presented, excellent facilities and the location was stunning

"Hosts very friendly."
Nice property and location. Welcome pack appreciated. No major issues. Only thing is a shower mat would be good for some guests.

"I'm sorry to say that we cannot recommend this holiday destination."

"The photos advertising the cabin are somewhat false."
I did not expect to see the owners property with scaffolding and scrap piles of wood on the floor as part of my view. I certainly don’t expect to see the owners in a hot tub with friends as part of my evening view. More thought could have been done to the cabin in consideration to hot weather during months when the midge are active. Midge screens on the two smaller windows to allow occupants to open and receive fresh air. A suitable fan was supplied during the last two nights of our stay but should be left in the cabin to give an option to the client. The oven and hob were really good and made cooking easy but the heat inside the cabin made it a task which we refused in the end. There is no need for a dish washer as it is designed for 2 persons only and I’m sure better use of cupboard space would have been useful, particularly considering the lack of counter top. The cabin is really well presented on arrival, very clean and the shower is great. A shame it was more let downs than positives. We found ourselves delaying our return to the cabin everyday. We will NOT book the cabin again.
Thank you for your review Bryan however we feel it unjustified and untrue. To take your points in order: The property listing details that there are two rental properties at the same location and that we live on site. The photos are unedited images of the exact property inside and out and clearly show our home in it's location through The Cabin windows. We do have two small single story scaffold towers up at the moment as we are in the middle of replacing our old leaking roof. We apologise if this affected your stay in any way. We are sorry that you found it offensive seeing us use our hot tub 30 metres away, we have difficulty understanding why that would be but please understand it was not our intent to upset anyone. It is true we had not adequately considered the eventuality of getting unprecedented temperatures here on Skye, the minute you asked for a fan we provided two small units and ordered a new large floor standing fan which arrived and was provided to you the next day. Had you asked for this earlier it would have been provided earlier so your implication that we waited until the last two days of your stay to assist is misleading. The large fan will remain in the property in case we ever experience such high temperatures in the future. Midge screens are a good idea although with the entire window opening outwards it makes permanent fixed screens unfeasible, but we will investigate and source internal screens for those two windows. Thank you for the comment. We have never had a negative comment regarding the provision of a dishwasher, we know that many of our guests have used it in the past and we think it is better to provide facilities that may not be used than not but thank you for the feedback. "We loved our stay thank you, the cabin had everything we needed and the Isle of ..."
We loved our stay thank you, the cabin had everything we needed and the Isle of Skye has a lot to offer, the only thing that let it down was the postcode not being correct and took us to another property which then took nearly an hour to find the cabin even thought it was just down the road
Thank you for your feedback Paul. The supplied postcode is correct but because of our rural location it occupies a large area and the centre of the postcode where Satnav tends to take you is a few hundred metres away. This is why the arrival instructions have detailed directions to get you to the property including GPS co-ordinates and what three words to our exact location. We are now sending arriving guests a google map location on the day of arrival to assist with finding us. Property Owner

"We have been at the Cabin before and knew we would enjoy our stay, as the property is in an ideal situation for exploring different areas."
Although different owners we have no hesitation in saying our holiday was ideal and the area and scenery is difficult to beat. Debbie and Barry being the perfect hosts always ready to help, their knowledge handy when thinking up trips. The home made bread was really good and the milk, wine, tea coffee etc ideal.

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Cabin."
It was the perfect fit for our needs. It is perfectly maintained, clean and beautifully decorated. Everything is provided for. On arrival we had a warm welcome from Mark and Debbie, and a welcome pack including home made bread !! The views of MaCleods table and down to Harlosh are just beautiful. We will definitely be returning.

Lovely stay, comfortable and cosy. Warm welcome by the owners.
-
"We had a brilliant stay at the Cabin, it's very modern and beautifully presented, with fantastic views and everything we needed for our week."
We were lucky with the weather so we had some brilliant walks and bike rides locally, and when it really rained we were very comfortable having a day in by the fire. The bathroom is big and the shower is fantastic. The hosts were great, and we hope to come back to explore more of Skye.
-
"We had a fabby stay at The Cabin, Barry and Debbie were fantastic, friendly hosts - thank you so much!"
The Cabin itself was well equipped, extremely clean and had some lovely personal touches for us arriving! Even with the rain and wind in the evening we felt cosy inside… nothing beats that fresh air with a cuppa in the morning looking at the beautiful views! Would 100% recommend you will not be disappointed

About the location
DUNVEGAN
Portree 22 miles.
The village of Dunvegan is set in the north west of Skye and contains a mixture of traditional stone and modern houses, along with a selection of shops and hotels. About a mile from the village is Dunvegan Castle, home to the Clan MacLeod, who have continuously occupied the castle since the 13th century. Only four miles away is the famous Three Chimneys Restaurant, a must for all foodies, and just a 10 minute walk away is the very popular Old School Restaurant, also worth a visit. Also in the area are the Cullin Mountains with their fantastic rock forms and pinnacles, which many climbers would put at the top of their list. Other attractions on the Isle are plentiful - visit the Talisker Distillery or Portree, the island’s only town, set around its natural harbour, which boasts an excellent range of shops, hotels and restaurants, and also offers Sea Eagle trips from the pier, which are extremely popular.
