  • "Absolutely stunning house."

Even the dog trotted in as if she'd gone to heaven! It's a stunning location and the views are breathtaking. I can't fault anything. We had high expectations and it lived up to them!!! A lovely home to relax in with everything you could need and more!

  • "(There were 5 in our party)."

The house is extremely comfortable and modern in a fabulous setting with wonderful views. We were fortunate to have excellent weather during our stay. A lovely and warm temperature inside the house with a super comfortable sitting room and TV room. Suggested improvement points: need larger bath towels please - towels provided were way too small. Given the price range for this property (£4,000 for the week we were there ) I think you should provide shower gel & washing up liquid ie basic essentials should be included at this price. These small touches actually make a big difference and they won’t really eat into your costs in a significant way. Overall we had a great time and would definitely go back. Thank you.

  • "We had a wonderful stay at Taigh Rona."

Unfortunately there had apparently been a planned power cut supply on one of the days we were staying but had not been informed regarding this. We would have appreciated being told as had to rearrange our schedule. The property is fabulous only thing lacking is a wash basket and perhaps cladding on the container. What an amazing setting and house we truly loved our stay.

  • "We recently had the pleasure of staying Taigh Rona and it exceeded all expectations."

We stayed with two young children (9mnths and 4 years). From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the breathtaking views that seemed straight out of a postcard. The property was perched overlooking the coast, offering panoramic vistas of lush landscapes and sparkling waters. The accommodation was nothing short of exceptional, with every detail meticulously curated for comfort and style. From the plush furnishings to the state-of-the-art amenities, no expense was spared in ensuring a truly indulgent experience. Our only point of feedback would be to provide larger bath towels / sheets. But it was the views that truly stole the show. Would def come back.

  • "This property is in a stunning location and is beautifully presented."

It had everything we required for our stay and we thoroughly enjoyed being there. The only little criticism was the high temperature of the home, it was well in to the 20's on our arrival which would have been very welcoming on a cold day, it's such a well insulated dwelling obviously as its so new maybe it could be turned down a few degrees. Other than that it was spot on, thank you very much.

So cleverly designed that you feel immersed in the beautiful and ever changing Luskentyre landscape. It was a joy to cook in the well stocked kitchen at the heart of the property. The beds were so comfortable, towels fresh and soft. We had such a gorgeous week to kick back and relax and all fell in love with Taigh Rona. A tough one to leave.

  • "Fabulous house."

Was a bit disappointed with the amount of people coming past the house. Did feel that it should be pointed out on details that there is quite a busy road running directly past the property. We did feel like we were in a goldfish bowl with most people looking in as they went past

! There are lots of positives on this house which was really well equipped and we all loved. A few little improvements that could be made but these are minor compared to such a fab house. They are as follows: - Hook on back of bathroom doors would be handy - bin collection information not up to date in folder. - more option with pillows. Ie. Hard/soft. Beds very comfy though! - a sharpener for the knives. Thanks so much for a fab stay.

  • "We had an excellent stay in this very well appointed house."

The view was stunning and, despite what anyone might have said in the past, the heating system worked perfectly. In fact it was so efficient that we had to turn it down. Only two things, the master bedrooms would have benefitted greatly from a chair or two. The other significant thing, though, is the lack of a covered outdoor drying area or, preferably, a drying or boot room in which to hang wet suits and full waterproof gear - essentials for an active outdoors holiday

  • "This is a truly special house in a spectacular location."

From the moment we got there we didn’t want to leave. The views from almost every room were amazing. We especially liked the reading/quiet areas that each had two chairs, you felt spoilt for choice as to where to sit and take in the view. The house has everything you could want in a home away from home. We only have one small criticism and that’s the lack of blinds in the main room. We were very fortunate that even in March we had a few gloriously sunny days but this meant that in the afternoon the sun shining directly into the main room made it too warm and almost unbearable to sit in even with both patio doors open. I know, a nice problem to have but even still would be good to have some options for shade. Apart from this small niggle, this house stole both our hearts and we both cannot wait to return.

  • "We had a thoroughly fantastic stay in January, the house is designed, finished and furnished brilliantly and in the most breathtaking location with views second to none, very spacious and comfortable, the selection of seating areas taking in the various views of luskentyre added to the relaxation the property offered, even in January!"

The kitchen has everything you need and the great range of appliances are easy to use too. Short walk to the gate accessing the beach too which was great for our dogs. We usually prefer a log burner when in the hebrides in winter but the house was so warm and cosy I didn’t even miss it. Fiona and I have holidayed in several LHH properties but this one stole our hearts, hoping to return very soon.

  • "Obviously an amazing location and property."

So please read this feedback from a group of adults whom have stayed in over 8 Scottish properties. We arrived to a very cold house (as you know) due to the app and settings having all reset themselves. The property was difficult to make "cosy" especially due to the weather. It currently lacks 1. Wood burner, 2. Curtains/blinds in living room, 3. Rugs, 4. Secondary (warm) lighting. From a comfort perspective it needs 1. DVD player attached to the TV, 2. Nespresso m/c, 3. Bigger fridge (or secondary fridge) - five adults for 1x week ran out of fridge room, 4. Maps/Guides of the area (like Big Sands), 5. Sharp knives to prepare food!! 6. Food recycling bin in the house. Oh and lose the containers around the property - unsightly within the location. So this is a new property in its first year. Everything else was great - don't get me wrong. On the heating side you have to have a secondary heating system (like a woodburner) that can supply fast heat. Underfloor heating is too slow for a house like this. Also towel rails look great but they simply don't work - you need to be able to dry your towels. To finish on a positive note - this is a stunning location on a stunning island and the house (when "settled in") is amazing. Housekeeper - Elly, and the owner were very supportive during the heating issue. Maybe we've stayed in too many great houses. Thank you

Many thanks for your feedback regarding your stay at Taigh Rona, both positive and constructive. We are sorry to hear that the house wasn’t warm on arrival. This is a first for the house as it is very well insulated, benefits from solar gain due to its orientation and has air source heating with underfloor heating installed throughout the ground floor. Previous guests left the same day as your arrival and there was no issue with the system raised by the departing guests. Upon you raising this as an issue, we did have a heating engineer attend the property as quickly as possible and it was established that there was no fault with the system and the heating system had been adjusted manually. The under floor heating is very effective at heating the house and designed based on the size and scale of the house. In the warmer months there is no need to put the heating on at all as the glass makes the house very cosy. We made the decision not to put a log burner in the house as it is incredibly difficult to get logs on the island and conscious of our carbon footprint! It is subjective as to what guests views are relative to our own. Having the experience of use of the house with sand and dogs (also catered for with outside tap next to the back door) and therefore we decided not to have any rugs downstairs as it would be impractical to keep the floors hygienic and clean. Again, with the experience of staying on the island, we haven’t put up blinds in the kitchen area as when the patio doors are left open they run the risk of getting damaged by the extreme winds the island experiences. As for the coffee machine, DVD player and additional fridge space, these are all things that we will take into account and thank you for bringing it to our attention. The towel rails normally give enough heat to dry towels on but there is a tumble dryer in the utility room for our guests to dry their belongings. We will take onboard all your comments in order to enhance our guests experience of staying at the house. We are delighted to hear that you thought the house was amazing and you enjoyed Taigh Ronas stunning location overlooking the beach. Many thanks Gus, Linz and Neil Property Owner

  • "Perfect! House and views exactly as advertised."

We had an absolutely delightful holiday and couldn't recommend the property more highly. For the owner only - the upstairs bathroom could have done with somewhere to hang a dressing gown and somewhere to put soap in the shower. Otherwise you have everything pretty spot on. Thank you for the fizz, by the way. For Sykes Cottages only - I wrote before we went to ask what the owner provided in the way of basics and was told to expect nothing bar perhaps 1 toilet roll - no salt & pepper, nothing. That is not the case and we took a lot of things with which were unnecessary as the owner provided them. However, neither of the above spoiled our holiday in any way and you will be the first port of call when we arrange another such holiday.

We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay at Taigh Rona. Many thanks for taking the time to leave such a positive review. We really appreciate your feedback, and we will definitely take steps to address the helpful observations you made during your stay. We hope to welcome you back in the future. Property Owner
