  • "We really enjoyed our stay at ‘Beachcombers."

’ It was in a beautiful setting with a sea view and had wonderful facilities for the children to play while we were at the house. They enjoyed the outdoor space to roam safely and particularly enjoyed the golf course and making friends with the pony and donkey. A great place for older children. The beds were clean and comfortable and we had all that we needed. It was great to have a bbq available on the patio and the large outdoor table suited our family of seven perfectly. We arranged a Tesco delivery on the first evening, however the van got into difficulty driving down the track. We’d recommend asking the van to park at the top of the drive! The patio area was lovely, but not especially private from the other two cottages. Perhaps a screen or trellis could solve this? Overall the house was wonderful, although there were quite a few spiders also sharing it! Probably due to it being in the countryside, but we felt a more thorough hoovering/dusting would help! We would definitely recommend staying here and would love to return!

  • "We have returned from a fantastic week in this amazing cottage."

The facilities were far better than the pictures and listing The views from the upstairs lounge were stunning and the open window gave the cottage a lovely cool breeze. There were even a pair of binoculars to use with which to watch the ships goes past at night The sofas were comfy and perfect for resting on after a long day of walking The grounds were stunning, with a putting green, badminton, bbq , pizza oven, chairs and tables and a parasol. The beach was literally on the doorstep, private bay, perfect for swimming This is a truly amazing place for a family. We will be returning! Thank you for your hard work as owners in ensuring it is a perfect place for your guests

  • "Lovely cottage in a great location with spectacular views."

Perfect for what we needed; we sat watching ships sail by (working out who they were with ship tracker app), walked down to the beach and along to the botanical gardens and played on the pitch and put. This was without needing to get in the car. We also explored the Isle of Wight which is stunning. The cottage is comfortable and well kitted out. The big dining table on the patio is great for dining outside or just enjoying a cuppa watching the sea and the stunning little green lizards which like sun bathing on the hot slabs. We hope to be back.

  • "We have just got back from a wonderful week at Beachcombers and will definitely be coming back in the future!"

The property was fantastic, the hosts we so friendly and helpful and the location was stunning! There was so much for the children (aged 5, 6, 7 and 10) to do on site, that a rainy day was just as exciting as a trip out on the island. Golf, football, basketball, table tennis, table football, a donkey and pony as well as open fields and the play area kept our children entertained and we felt safe enough to let them roam these areas without direct supervision. We went with another family and the house was perfect as we had a separate bathroom/shower room per family. It's a very spacious property so you never feel on top of each other (apart from in the kitchen). The beautiful Orchard Bay was only a few minutes walk away and perfect for rock pooling and fossil hunting. It is not good for swimming however as it is surrounded by rocks but there are so many sandy beaches just a short drive away. The only problem we came across were the tight, steep twists and turns in the roads leading up to the property but these were negated by passing the driveway, turning around in the next road and double backing on ourselves.

The setting is stunning with sea views and loads of indoor and outdoor play area for the children. We had a couple of issues that were solved immediately by the very professional hosts. Very peaceful.

  • "Beachcombers was bright, airy, warm and very comfortable, with wonderful views to the sea beyond."

The kitchen was well equipped and very clean. The outside play areas were fantastic, with lots of activities; badminton, table tennis, table football climbing frame and more! Our two grandchildren loved running about playing football in the BIG play field. The shower room downstairs, did not drain properly so we stopped using it and used the shower over the bath. We had a lovely holiday and would certainly come back.

  • "The location of Beachcombers us amazing."

Right on the coastal walks, very peaceful with restaurants a short drive away. The turning in to the drive is a bit tricky but we got used to it. The owners provided more than we expected in that there were toilet rolls, kitchen towels, sanitizer, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets etc - all of which we had bought with us so it would have been good to know that those sort of items were provided as we needn't have worried too much. We did have occasion to pull out one of the single beds and were surprised to find it was very dusty behind, it obviously hadn't been cleaned behind for some time as we found a very dusty child's toy as well. We would return to the farm however, maybe even consider bringing the whole family and use all cottages.

Bank End Farm Cottages

Three outstanding cottages set within an attractive open courtyard, with spectacular coastal views and direct access onto the Isle of Wight Coastal Path. These striking holiday cottages are just a short walk away from the small coves and secluded beaches of the south coast of the Isle of Wight, and are situated within 30 acres of farmland, having been lovingly converted from ancient Island Stone farm buildings, whilst retaining many of their original features. With the clever use of modern glazing, light now spills into each cottage creating a warm and welcoming feel, as well as allowing in those stunning views of the English Channel. All three cottages have been furnished to a high standard, complementing the exposed beams with quality oak and pine furnishings. They each have their own private patio area with a table, chairs and a barbecue, all perfectly positioned to allow you to fully appreciate the beautiful views of the surrounding farmland and the English Channel. A shared games room houses table tennis tables and badminton nets, and there is useful storage for bikes available, as well as designated off road parking spaces close by, along with additional undercover parking if required. The Ventnor Botanic Garden is only a short walk away, full of worldwide temperate and subtropical trees and shrubs. The area’s unusual climate is more like the Mediterranean, therefore enabling a wide variety of plants to grow and thrive here. The Garden also holds many events and exhibitions throughout the year and has a highly acclaimed café restaurant. A 10-minute walk along the Isle of Wight Coastal Path will bring you to the island’s hidden treasure, Steephill Cove, with its sand and shingle beach and fisherman’s cottages, who today still launch small boats hoping to catch crabs and lobsters for the locals. Some of these cottages have even been converted into wonderful café restaurants, where you can sample their catch directly from the sea. This delightful group of cottages are perfect for anything, from romantic retreats, to a big, family seaside holiday.
