Our second stay in this wonderful 15th century cottage.

It is well fitted out with all modern conveniences yet still maintains its historically significant characteristics. Utterly charming. The location is perfect with so much to do and see in the area.

Church view is a wonderful historic cottage full of character.

Don't be surprised if you see people standing outside having their photos taken by the front door! The cottage is well equipped and comfortable. It is in a superb location behind the church and within the historic centre of Rye. A few points to note 1. You can park close by on the road to unload. Car parks are about 10 min walk away and £3. to £3.50 for 24 hours. 2. Going into the house, the front door is low - probably around 5 feet, and entering you step down into the lounge. I'm 6'1 and could stand in the house, but there are places where I had to duck down 3. The stairs are narrow and very steep 4. The second, twin bed room is on the second floor, and to access it you have to pass through the first bedroom. 5. As the name suggests, the cottage is opposite the church ... which has a clock which chimes every hour Rye is a super town to visit, and a good centre to explore the local area too.

Lovely property, excellent location we really loved the cottage.

Appears to be a tourist attraction loads of people stopping to have their picture taken outside which was nice we gave them a wave. Would highly recommend Layfields pub with a secret garden friendly staff and lovely atmosphere. I would not recommend for people with young children due to the very steep stairs. We had a problem in the beginning as the cottage wasn't cleaned from the previous guests this did put a damper on the start and didn't get into the property until about 6pm. Bedding didn't seem fresh and the cottage had a few cobwebs and a bit dusty. A book for guests to leave there comments would be a good idea to have in the cottage. We still had a lovely time.
