"We really enjoyed our stay, we loved this quiet location."
The staff were very friendly & helpful. The place is very well maintained and the facilities were immaculate.

"The site (village) was beautiful, well kept x many extras that we didn’t know about beforehand."
The apartment was lovely x just what we expected. The only downfall was that the pool was closed for 5 days due to a leak, x the reason that I book here was for the on-site pool for us x our grandson, so disappointed to say the least.

"The property could do with a little TLC the cord on the Roman blind was broken so it opened lop sided."
The lamp shade looked a bit battered. It would be good to have some more mugs of a larger size, and some chopping knives, the only knife was a bread knife. The metal rubbish in was also a bit battered and didn’t open properly and smelt bad before we put any rubbish in it. The quilt seemed too small for the cover. The bed was really comfortable and we slept well. The flat was lovely and warm too. The pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi were lovely and it was so nice to use them after a long walk on the fells. We would go back as we had a nice time.
Thank you for drawing my attention to these issues. I have been in touch with housekeeping to rectify the situation. - Owner response Property Owner

"It wasn't a problem to us but I think the listing should explain about the parking."
All of the site staff were very helpful and we enjoyed our stay. The apartment had everything we needed, although we couldn't work out how to use the Bose sound system

"Loved our stay at Whitbarrow, the room was very clean and comfortable if just a bit cramped."
The leisure facilities were a very good standard and the restaurant and bar were also to a similar rating. It would appear that the lift has been out of action for over a year ,which could cause problems for older less able guests, luckily we are just fit enough. Similarly the car parking arrangements could be mentioned a bit more clearly in the property description. We found that the staff were very attentive ,courteous and friendly . All in all we wouldn’t be deterred from returning.

PENRUDDOCK
Keswick 11 miles; Penrith 6 miles.
The charming old village of Penruddock sits in a secluded position in the northern Lake District between Keswick and Penrith, and just four miles from Ullswater. The village is spread out amongst beautiful rolling countryside and wonderful scenery and is made up of a number of farm dwellings, traditional Lakeland homes and two churches. Penruddock originated in Celtic times, with the name derived from Pen, a Celtic name for 'hill' and 'rhuddawc' meaning red in Welsh to reflect the reddish brown colour of the soil found in the area. Nearby, the popular town of Keswick is the holiday centre of the north of the Lake District and has plenty to offer, boasting numerous shops and restaurants to suit all tastes, as well as offering miniature golf, some good parks, the Theatre by the Lake, a charming cinema and the beautiful lake. Penruddock provides easy access to the spectacular surrounding Cumbrian countryside which can be explored by both car and on foot, and with the southern Lakes, Eden Valley, Solway Coast and Hadrian's Wall all within easy motoring distance this great location has plenty to see and do for all the family.
