"We spent 3 nights at Fell View - me, my husband and our 9 year old son."
The location was fantastic, just minutes from shops and some nice pubs in Ambleside. The cottage was cosy, clean and well equipped. The shower pressure was a little annoying and would have worn thin if we’d stayed longer I think but we knew before we arrived from the listing. Overall, a great little cottage!

"Lovely cottage, very comfortable and clean."
It was in a lovely quiet area despite being close to town. We enjoyed our stay.

"Really nice cottage and well appointed."
Eventually worked out how to use the heating as instructions weren’t clear enough but used fire instead so wasn’t a problem. Bathroom is it a bit on the small side but useable. Overall a comfortable property and was in an ideal location for all we wanted to do in the area. Ambleside centre was really close so were able to have a couple of car free days.

"Loved this cosy little cottage ."
Everything we needed was there, just wish the outside where table and two chairs were had been a bit more weed ifree as on the photographs it looked much tidier and weed free, but other than that we thoroughly enjoyed our few days there .

"Spent the weekend at Fell View, a comfortable well equipped cottage with a homely feel."
An ideal location with a short walk to Lake Windermere or into town and all Ambleside has to offer. 5 stars, will be looking to stay again! Can also recommend Force Cafe & Terrace, delicious food and a picture postcard view!

"We enjoyed our stay at Fell view."
The decor was really nice and outdoor seating which was a bonus as we had some good weather. The stairs would be an issue for anyone with a disability.

"Directions good."
Parking convenient. Quiet location, but only a short walk from all Ambleside has to offer. The cottage name is misleading as there is no view, tucked away as it is among other houses. The top of the stairs is dangerous. I slept with the landing light on and a pillow across the bedroom door to remind me to exit the room carefully! A nice little house. Expensive for what it is.

"Maybe an extra handrail on other side of stairs."
Otherwise good location and a cosy place to stay.

"Beautiful little cottage, ideal for 2 people."
Easy 5 minute walk into town, cafes, bars and restaurants. Everything you could possibly need in the kitchen area (although we did eat out each day). Would definitely stay here again. Only downfall, it could do with a mirror in second bedroom, maybe on chest of drawers, for hair drying. The full length mirror in main bedroom is great, but unfortunately there wasn't a plug socket close enough to use the hairdryer. Also, if you are on the large side, the toilet space between the shower cubicle and the wall was slightly tight (fine for me but my partner who has really broad shoulders, struggled and had to sit at an angle). That said, we both enjoyed our stay and this wouldn't stop us from staying

"Lovely little cottage, I’m a big lad and the shower room is really tiny, which for two nights was ok, a week would have been uncomfortable."
We also experienced a severe drop in water pressure ie no water from the shower, which was a problem for my wife when she was in it washing her hair and the water stopped! Otherwise really enjoyed our stay thanks

"The cottage was delightful and had everything we needed."
It was in a great location with valued parking. The interior decor was to a lovely standard. We will visit again hopefully.

"Lovely little cottage."
Very well equipped kitchen only lacking a teapot. Bathroom is very small but nicely fitted.

About the location
AMBLESIDE
Grasmere 4.4 miles; Windermere 4.7 miles; Keswick 16.7 miles.
Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants, and pubs in the village to suit all tastes, including the popular eateries of Misto, Sheila's Cottage, and The Lily Bar. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.
