Other pubs are 1.8 miles away in Lindale and Grange over Sands.

Cartmel Races has several racing fixtures throughout the summer season providing enjoyable race days combined with music and entertainment.

There is also the Annual Cartmel Agricultural show in August. With a plethora of activities and attractions on the doorstep, guests will be spoilt for choice.

Auto enthusiasts can explore the classic cars on display at the Lakeland Motor Museum, while nature lovers can appreciate the beautiful setting of the National Trust's Fell Foot.

Stroll through the manicured Ornamental Gardens or immerse yourself in local history at the Cartmel Priory, a beautifully preserved medieval church.

There are miles of trails leading up to Chapel House wood giving panoramic views of Windermere and the mountains. There are also many golf courses in the surrounding area. Let the little ones run free at the Lakeland Maze Farm Park before taking a hike to the panoramic Orrest Head Viewpoint, which boasts breath-taking views of Lake Windermere.

Newby Bridge is 3 miles away and is at the top end of Lake Windermere where boat trips around the lake can be boarded.
