"This is a beautiful house very well suited to a group of adults staying."
The rooms are comfortable and clean. Improvements that could be made more cooking bowls, utensils for those guests who like to self cater ….I realise there may only be a few of us. There are so many lovely places to eat in the area. And also being able to control and turn down or off the heating. I would recommend this house as a fantastic base for exploring the lakes.

"Absolutely beautiful property, cosy and homely yet super luxurious."
In a great location to explore Bowness but equally couldn't wait to get back "home" to this property. Can't wait to stay again!
-
"Superb location."
House came up to expectation. Lovely furnishings and overall facilities were top end. I would make a couple if suggestions to the owners. A couple of the toilet seats are loose. The balcony needs sweeping before arrival. I realise the trees shed but this had not been done and there was quite a bit of debris. Overall fabulous place and lots of parking. 2 amazing giant redwoods!!

"We have jusy got home after a week(not long enough!"
) At Hare's Breath, 4 us stayed in this stunning house, with our furry family too
-
"Very comfortable and enjoyable stay and looking forward to a return visit."
Great location and the spacious property is perfect for 4 couples. Loved the kitchen layout as we enjoy cooking after a days hiking with all the family around us. Appliances we excellent and easy to navigate. Pool table was used ever night and was great entertainment. Good to be able to take small 2 pooches, cockerpoo and cavapoo, so no hair shedding! A few additions would enhance our stay. Bathrooms/downstairs toilet could do with hooks/rails for towels. Hooks on bathroom doors for dressing gowns. Bedrooms need wall mirrors to do hair and make up, only small stand mirrors provided. Also bathroom shelves under the mirrors to put toothbrushes and paste as no space on sinks. Some rooms you had to leave them in the sink. We cook from scratch, make our own bread etc. so handmixer, serving spoons, salad servers would be useful. We bought a colander and extra wooden spoons that we left for the next visitors. I hope this is all constructive comments :-)

"Lovely house, very comfortable & roomy."

"We have just returned from a fabulous week away celebrating a 50th & 80th birthday as a family."
We are a family of 8 with an infant and dogs. Hares Breath is wonderful, fully equipped top of the range get away, perfect for a wide range of ages. The social space was perfect and the games room was another welcome addition. The dogs loved being able wander in and out and around the garden safely. Unfortunately the electric gates weren’t working which meant we had to ensure they were closed at all times. Downstairs space:- The kitchen has loads of cupboard space and the crockery, utensils etc were of high quality and the right amount for the number of people. There was nothing we felt was lacking. The oven, microwave, hob, extractor and dishwasher were all easy to use. The fridge freezer was big enough and perfect in providing cold water and ice on tap. We had a food delivery the evening we arrived from Tesco which saved us packing food to bring with us. The dining table again was the perfect size to eat as a family and socialise, play board games around. We took a highchair with us which didn’t cause any space issues around the table either. The lounge area was comfortable and spacious, the only addition we would have liked was a foot stool for the leather chair(s) as these were easier for the older members of our party but they would have like to put their feet up. The TV’s were a surprise with the addition of Sky, which meant we could sit and watch a film together when we had a storm on the Sunday night. The games room was used by us all and provided a bit of healthy competition. The utility room, again well equipped, the dogs food and water were kept in there and they also enjoyed having their own space. We were lucky enough to have amazing weather and opening up the side of the house was lovely with respite from the sun and a gentle breeze. Our infant also loved being able to wander around the space in her baby walker, (brought with us). Upstairs:- All bedrooms were beautifully furnished and comfortable, all with en-suite. The showers were all great with no lack of water pressure. There were a couple of niggles about the en-suites in that there was nowhere to place a toothbrush or hang a damp towel. They could do with the addition of a shelf and some hooks. The bedrooms themselves had plenty of wardrobe and cupboard space. The bedroom with the bath in the en-suite was perfect and our little one loved having a bath in there every evening and there was plenty of space for her travel cot. The house was in the perfect position to be able walk into town and was a prefect bolt hole for us to return to regularly when my husband was running ‘The Lap” (a 50 mile trail run around Lake Windermere). Perfect getaway in every way, we would 100% recommend a stay a Hares Breath and hope to be back soon.

"A note to say thank you so much for an incredible luxury break!"
We like to stay in a lot of amazing cottages across the UK and this is the best by far. The owners have thought of everything. The house is amazing, from the top of the range appliances, every bedroom having their own high spec bathroom, lovely extras of a hamper on arrival, and extra bits for the kids such as wooden games etc. The cleanliness and maintenance of the building was outstanding. Great location and I would say in our opinion the best house you will find in the Lake District. The house made our holiday - I would recommend staying here!

"We had a fantastic time with the family in your amazing house."
On a slight negative we found a lot of food crumbs around the edges in the kitchen and the bathroom sink units had very dirty shelfs with rings of toothpaste on them. We also struggled with the log fire as it quickly filled with smoke causing the flames to extinguish and smoke to escape through the seals every time we used it. This is not a complaint by me I just feel that the owner should know as to stop any complaints in the future. We throughly enjoyed our stay.
Dear Guest, Firstly, we would like to thank you for your positive feedback and so pleased you enjoyed your stay at Hares Breath. We would also like to thank you for letting us know about the bread crumbs left on the kitchen floor and the toothpaste rings in one of the bathrooms - we have fed this back to our cleaning team and they have asked us to pass on their sincerest apology and to rest assured that it won’t happen again. In terms of the log burner, the issue you experienced only happens if you don’t warm the fire up first by burning a bit of kindling prior to adding the logs, which I am told is the correct way to light a log burner. Again, we would like to thank you for bringing this to our attention and we have left instructions for future guests to ensure it doesn’t happen to anyone else. We hope to see you again at some point in the future….. Kind regards Property Owner

"We have stayed in some lovely houses over the years in The Lakes but Hares Breath is something else!"
Furnishings, decor and appliances all to a very high standard and the finishing off in all areas is excellent. Brilliantly set up for a family get together. Spacious bedrooms and open plan downstairs is perfect for privacy if needed ,and being in the centre of everything! Sky package, billiard (Pool) room, board games are all at hand when needed, that's if you are not out exploring The Lakes and its mountains. Bowness is a 5 minute stroll away and easily accessed by foot. I don't know how feasible a one way system would be for accessing all properties on the estate, as the road is very narrow for its majority but this is mentioned only for constructive reasons. To sum up, brilliant holiday in a fantstic abode .....and we've already booked for next year!

"Let me start by saying the pictures are an excellent representation of the property, however pictures cannot portray the ambiance of the property."
This is a Hi-Tech house where no corner has been cut. It is absolutely fabulous. We spent a week there for my wife’s 60th birthday and had the whole family up for the weekend. The living area is so large we never felt overcrowded with 8 of us milling around. The games room provided hours of entertainment and Sky tv is connected throughout the house. The bedrooms, all en-suite, were extremely comfortable and the boiler keeps the place lovely and warm (the dogs were torn between laying on top of the underfloor heating or toasting themselves in front of the wood burner). The kitchen is also very well equipped, again with hi-tech appliances and the private chef we hired for the birthday dinner found everything he needed within arms length. We had a slight issue whilst there but the owner actioned immediately on notification and the maintenance engineer arrived 30 minutes later, excellent service. As a location it’s perfect for the lake and Bowness. The private road to the property is easy to miss but the directions provided are spot on. In summary this is a stunning property and has the wow factor from both inside and out. Would we come back again? ……without any hesitation YES, we didn’t want to leave.

"Hi We had a nice time last year at Hares Breadth - we would now like to book something even better for 2025 - we have set the bar so it can only be better please - can someone help and let me know?"

"Wow what a beautiful house, little piece of luxury in the lakes !"
Everything has been thought of & is in a perfect location with just a short walk into Bowness & the lake. We stayed to celebrate my mother in laws 80th birthday & the house was perfect. Huge open plan social space, large enough to accommodate six humans and two dogs & you never felt on top of each other. The games room was a great addition and provided lots of fun. The bedrooms were all beautiful and so comfortable all with their own bathrooms & televisions, so there were no arguments about rooms ! The outdoor space and BBQ was also lovely with lots of outdoor furniture for everyone. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t that kind to us with the arrival of Storm Betty (in August) and some of our plans on the lake had to be cancelled but this beautiful house more than made up for some of the disappointment & made our holiday ! We genuinely didn’t want to leave.
Dear Niall, thank you so much for providing such fantastic feedback. It means an awful lot to us to know that our guests enjoyed spending their precious time together as a family at Hares Breath, but we are especially delighted that you chose our holiday home to celebrate such a special occasion. Please pass on our congratulations to your mother-in-law and we hope to see you and your family back very soon. Kind regards, Martyn and Lisa occoccasion Property Owner

"This was a special family holiday in celebration of my 60th birthday."
Hare's Breath is a wow..!! from the minute the electric gates open till you enter this superb property. There were 6 adults 2 children and a dog in our party and with each room having its own shower there is plenty of space for everyone. The property has everything you need and the pool room is great for an evening relaxing. I would thoroughly recommend this property for a party of 8 and it's just a short walk in Bowness-on-Windermere. The property has plenty of space for parking vehicles something that is difficult in the town. All shops, restuarants and pubs are a 10-15min walk away from the property. We had a great week and tried out the watersports nearby, would recommend the wetsuit as the lake is a bit chilly. I would definately rate this property as the best we have had over the years. John, Ayrshire.
Hi John, thank you so much for the fantastic feedback! We have tried so hard to create a special place where people can come to relax with their friends, families and loved ones (including their furry friends) in luxurious surroundings and enjoy the beauty of the Lake District National Park. It means even more to us that you chose Hares Breath to celebrate such a special occasion and we sincerely hope that we contributed in some way to making it a memorable day for you and your family. Thank you again for choosing our holiday home and we hope to welcoming you back very soon. Martyn and Lisa Property Owner

"A fabulously appointed high quality property in a super location close to the town."
We went with my father and our family of 5 plus our spaniels. Dogs are very welcome and we appreciated that. All of us loved the house, the games room in particular and made use of the great outside seating areas and bbq. Definitely recommend staying here and we would love to go back.

"We had a fantastic stay at Hare's Breath, for our Mum's 70th."
What a beautiful home! Everything was beautiful, clean and felt brand new. We enjoyed the BBQ, log burner and pool table. The house is so large and spacious for a big group. Couldn't fault our time here.

Such a wholesome feeling in the lovely building! Having to re-do our kitchen now! Thank you so much, we will be back!
-
"We have stayed in the Lakes for over 20 years and this is by far the most amazing property that we have been to."
The house is even better than the website pictures show; it is the perfect location for walking into the centre of Bowness, particularly with elderly parents. With a party ranging from 18 to 80 in age, the property offered fantastic facilities for all. We very much hope to return!
-
"Had a wonderful stay here in this gorgeous house - very much enjoyed the pool table and a great location too!"
Got up to many walks a short drive away in all kinds of weather but ended with beautiful sun on Crinkle Crags and ice-cream back in Bowness! Thanks for a lovely stay and we will definitely be back soon!!
