"We are now home after a very rainy few days in the Lake District!"
Huntsman Cottage was a very welcome retreat from the rain - we were very appreciative of the real fire after braving the rain. It was also lovely that tea making facilities and biscuits were awaiting our arrival. The cottage is really well equipped, immaculately clean and the beds were very comfortable. There was a bit of an issue with the noise of the toilet flush that might need a little bit of maintenance but we didn’t report the issue so the owners weren’t given a chance to rectify. For future guests the only thing that you might need to consider is the road noise. The cottage sits almost on the road and although the cars passing are quite sporadic it can be noisy during typical commuting hours (6-8am and then 4-6pm). If you are a light sleeper I would try and bag the back bedroom first, I would also make sure to use the back door if, like us, you have younger children. As a final note I wanted to mention to location. We enjoyed days in Ulverston (where there is a Tesco for supplies), at Coniston Water and Windermere which were all within 30 minutes drive. We also travelled further afield to Ullswater which was just over an hours drive but a lovely scenic route over the Kirkstone Pass and worth the trip just for the views. Thank you for a lovely stay!

"Just got back from spending 4 nights at this lovely cottage."
Very clean, well maintained and fully equipped. A short drive from Ulverston and set in a charming small village on the edge of beautiful countryside. We took a break in this area having visited 30 years ago, we were so happy we came back. Usually we would go north to the Windermere areas, or go abroad. Will definately visit Huntman Cottage again as it was so relaxing and good value. Thank you to the owner.

"Booked at short notice, we were very pleased when we arrived at Huntsmans Cottage to find it very clean and well-furnished with all necessary modern facilities including log-burner, range-cooker, fridge, full-size freezer, washing machine and easy to use central-heating boiler(glad to have it 1st night as weather was a bit cool although rest of stay became hot and C/H not then needed)."
No problem parking our car off-road, although the road itself could occasionally get a busy spell, although mostly quiet. The property displays some rural character with beamed ceilings etc but with fully-fitted modern-style bathroom. We much enjoyed our stay and appreciated the Owners' kind touch of a little 'welcome pack' found when we arrived. If intending to stay in this area again (which is quite convenient for the lakes and tourist attractions), would definitely be happy to stay again at this spacious cottage.
Thank you very much - glad you enjoyed your stay Property Owner
