  • "The lodge was great, very spacious, clean, comfortable & has everything you need."

  • "The open plan living area was perfect for quality time together as a family even when doing different things."

The kitchen was well stocked (although I always take some utensils just in case). There was a really helpful welcome pack which explained about the area as well as ‘how to’ guides for things around the lodge. Excellent storage in the living area and bedrooms. Just a bedside lamp needed in the twin bedroom. The site was great too and we made use of the pool one day. Good access to the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales with lots of things to see and do. A really lovely holiday, thank you!

  • "Lovely lodge which is well appointed."

Very roomy great space for everyone. Loved the open plan aspect it was light and airy. Good facilities in the lodge and it was very comfortable. Also a great swimming pool on the site. Great base for the lakes, Morecambe, Arnside etc. The site is well maintained and gardens and lake lovely. Would stay again. The only thing I would mention ( mentioned by other people who stayed in the lodge too) The sofa cushions need either re stuffing or foam underneath the cushions they are a bit difficult to negotiate but it’s a minor point. Beautiful lodge we had a lovely stay

  • "The lodge was lovely and like home from home."

The beds were very comfy, the couch was uncomfortable. The kitchen was well equipped, however a small pearing knife was missing from the knife rack. It was difficult to find the lodge as we arrived later than 4pm and the site was pitch black. We had to rely on other holiday makers opening the barrier as we needed the car full beam to find the lodge. Very peaceful and relaxing week. The leisure complex is very expensive would have cost £20 for a swim admission for one child and one adult.

  • "The lodge was outstanding , really nice ."

The only thing, which really wasnt a problem was the site itself. It only had a pub and that closed at 10 so not much to do around the area. We did go and see some lovely places with the help of the lodges book they left for us, Lancaster castle was one of my favs . Would definitely come again and recommend to anyone .

Nice and peaceful. The motorway and railway can be heard but in now intrusive. We all slept well lots of sea air and good food. The beds would benefit from mattress toppers. That is the only improvement. Otherwise superbly equipped and very spacious. Highly recommend to others.

  • "We had a lovely stay at the Lodger."

Very homely and the beds were really comfy. The Lodge was very clean and it was much welcomed to have tea, coffee available on our arrival. I would certainly return. The surroundings were beautiful and my granddaughter especially enjoyed feeding the ducks and swans on the lake. You do need to check the opening times of the bar and restaurant as they were not always open in the evening and when they were it closed around 9pm.

The only concern we had was that mattresses were hard and not very comfortable. It would have been useful to have a larger parking area outside lodge.

  • "Lovely property in very good condition."

Very comfortable beds and well equipped. The site is great..very quiet, well maintained and bird life to watch. The only downside is the noise from the nearby A road. Good communication from the owner. We were aware that we would need to pay to use the pool, but fees were steep.

  • "It was lovely and quiet and peaceful during our stay at the lodge."

It was Modern and very well presented and spacious. The lodge is situated in such beautiful surroundings. It has a well equipped kitchen with everything you need and an ample size fridge and freezer where we cooked some lovely evening meals. There is a large Tesco not far away for anything you may need. We had an evening meal in the on-site restaurant which was excellent. You need to book in advance. If you like a takeaway they're available locally too. The site is an ideal base for seeing what the area has to offer. We had beautiful weather for September and we found so much to do during our stay. Ingleton waterfalls trail was a wonderful day out and definitely worthy of a visit but be prepared for a lot of walking to get round one of the routes, but it's so worth it. The waterfalls are stunning. Crazy golf at Greenlands was fun and less than 5 mins drive from the site. Warton Crag Local Nature Reserve is less than 10 mins away. Rspb Leighton moss is less than 15 mins drive. Lakeland Wildlife Oasis is just over 5 mins drive away and is a fabulous place to visit. There is so much to see both inside and outside. There are organised talks throughout the day and the staff were very knowledgeable. The snow leopards were a real treat to see. Lancaster Castle is around 20 minutes drive. We booked onto a tour which was very good. Morecambe Bay is just 20 mins drive also. We also took a boat ride tour from Windemere Lake visiting Ambleside and stopped off at the Windermere Jetty Museum which has a cafe and was lovely to sit outside taking in the glorious views. We also booked an extra small boat trip at the jetty museum, with personal guides which was excellent. The Lakeland motor museum was fabulous. There was so much to see, with gorgeous homecooked food and treats in the cafe too! We had a wonderful time at the lodge and have booked our next visit!

There were six of us staying and it never felt cramped, and we kept warm during an unusually cold period and Atlantic storm. The washer/dryer was very useful for the teenagers, and the dishwasher was an added bonus for the few large family meals we prepared. I would highly recommend.

The lodge is lovely with the benefit of two double bedrooms and en-suiIt and another bathroom /shower. It has everything you would need. Double doors from lounge and dining room open onto veranda which gets the sun all day. Lovely clean park, making a relaxing holiday. We will be back

  • "A large but pleasantly quiet site."

The road network is a little confusing to begin with but we soon got the hang of it. If you intend using the onsite restaurant make sure to book first; it's often very busy. Nearby Carnforth has all necessary amenities and use the local garage for fuel - not the vastly overpriced M6 service stations. Kendal is quite close and Morecambe Bay is lovely if the weather's good. Loved the lodge (Waternook), very comfortable. Would definitely come here again.

Really spacious with every modern convenience. Particularly pleased with the amount of crockery and cutlery in the lodge - meant you got about 3 days without having to put the dishwasher on. Beds and settees comfortable and very nice furnishings in all rooms. Would certainly recommend staying at this Lodge.

  • "Very friendly resort and the initial part to get to the lodge was tricky as there was no map or accurate guidance on how to get to the lodge, this could have been improved with maybe a map or more clear instructions."

After managing to sort it out, we found the lodge quickly and was easily accessible. Inside was well kept and clean, very warming atmosphere with plenty of space. The kitchen was easy to use and ample storage in the fridge and the cupboards. The bedrooms were well kept and tidy, and plenty of storage again for all your belongings. The shower facility was excellent which is definitely needed after a good hike / day out. Overall had a really pleasant experience overall and would recommend this to all my friends or in the future book it again!

  • "A very enjoyable stay in this lovely lodge."

Facilities on site were good. We made use of the pool and the spa. Not sure what happened at the pool as we were charged £20 for a family ticket the first time then £10.00 the second time. Not sure what the correct charge should have been. The lodge itself was very good and comfortable. We will probably be back next year.

  • "Absolutely beautiful spacious lodge with everything you could require (other than a knife sharpener which would be handy)."

Gorgeous interior and design means when you are in bed you dont hear anyone in the living area. A bit of a drive to ambleside etc but we didnt mind that. Our only slight grumble was the use of the pool due to new covid restrictions. As a family of 5 we were unable to access as it needed to be 1:1 despite our children being 11. At that age remaining as a family unit would have been better. Otherwise we will certainly be booking again.

It was hard for us all to get hair and makeup done round a small bathroom mirror. Apart from that everything was perfect.
