  • "The cottage was very well equipped, though we were surprised there was no washing machine."

The bed was comfortable, though with very little space to move around it. The position was excellent - only 400 yards from the centre of Kendal, yet with private parking. Our only problem was a lack of clear instructions, for example about heating, rubbish, what to do with bedding etc., However, the owner made contact as soon as we had settled in & was very helpful. We had an excellent stay, but thought it was slightly overpriced for the size of cottage.

Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay and found the property to be comfy. The property is not listed as having a washing machine, however we take all suggestions on board. Thank you- The Lakelovers Owner Relations Team Property Owner

KENDAL

Windermere 8 miles.

A historic market town with a fine reputation for shopping, Kendal nestles on the banks of the River Kent and is known as the Southern Gateway to the Lakes. Its old cobbled lanes and byways branch off the attractive main street, and the stone ruins of 12th century Kendal Castle sit perched on a hill with views over the town. Visit The Abbot Hall Art Gallery, its regular collection holding portraits by Kendal born George Romney and works by Turner and Ruskin, with other exhibitions through its links with the Tate. Both Sizergh Castle and Levens Hall with its superb Topiary Garden are nearby, as are limestone escarpments for easy walking, offering thrilling views of the Lakeland Mountains, the Howgills and Morecambe Bay.
