Description

This traditional, stone-built Lakeland farmhouse lies quaintly under the Langdale Pikes at the head of the Langdale Valley in a rural part of the Lake District.

Middlefell Farm Cottage was created from part of the original farmhouse to provide a well-equipped cottage interior for families looking to breakaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and relax amongst this peaceful location.

As soon as you arrive, take a moment to appreciate the idyllic surroundings that makes up some of the finest mountain scenery in the Lakeland.

The sitting room will welcome your return after a day of walking the fells, furnished with two sofas, a TV and an electric fire to take comfort beside.

When you’re not dining out at fine restaurant, the kitchen is appointed with all the necessary appliances to serve up a tasty feast, which can be enjoyed at the dining table.

At the end of each action-packed day, seek comfort in either of two bedrooms, comprised of a double and a twin, each offering soft furnishings in a neutral décor and served by the family bathroom with a walk-in shower.

Head out to the garden furniture and enjoy your morning coffee whilst you plan for the day ahead before taking a gentle stroll along one of the nearby footpaths for the perfect start to the day.

On your journey you may stumble across the pub 'The Old Dungeon Ghyll', which serves both bar and restaurant meals and is ideal if you fancy a night off cooking.

Being surrounded by such inspiring scenery, it is hard to image why you would need to travel anywhere else, but if you do, Ambleside is five miles away and is where you can find your nearest supermarket, along with a choice of gift shops, small retailers, two cinemas and plenty of pubs and restaurants to enjoy.

Bowness-on-Windermere awaits further afield, home to the popular World of Beatrix Potter and the starting point for the iconic steamers, which take you across the water to Lakeside, home to a number of family attractions.

Guaranteed a pleasant stay wherever you decide, Middlefell Farm Cottage has everything needed for a memorable Lake District break.

Staying at Middle fell farm has been an absolute pleasure.

It's a very comfortable cottage with everything you need for your stay. If you love the Langdales and an authentic feel, you could not wish for better than a stay at this cottage at a working sheep. The farmer and his wife are great hosts if you meet them.... Incredibly busy hard working couple. The farm sits at the foot of the langdale pikes at the end of the langdale valley. The view from the cottage is spectacular. If it's a cold night, lighting the fire is an extra pleasure. Plenty of games and books if you want a cosy few hours. We were lucky to have good weather all week so eating outside at the table enjoying the wildlife was an added bonus. This place is so homely I didn't want to leave. I'll be booking again for my next holiday. Thanks again for making our family holiday so special.

We came to this lovely cottage with our 2 adult children.

Everything about our stay was wonderful.. the cottage and its amazing views, the swifts and swallows which we love even in London, the attention to detail and the ‘home from home ‘ feel. We recognised that the hosts have obviously put a lot of care into making the cottage such a lovely place to stay. We have been to the area before camping and love the valley. Being in the cottage added the extra comfort, we much appreciated being able to enjoy a little fire and feeling cooler after the heat wave back at home! The hosts were very friendly and even though we didn’t need them to help us with anything, we feel that they would have been more than happy to if we had done! Thank you for giving us the space we needed together as a family.. precious times in a very special place. We have vowed to come back again and we will certainly recommend it to family and friends!
