  • "The house was clean and comfortable."

    It was well equipped (apart from a lack of saucepan lids), and met our requirements in the kitchen. The bathroom and shower were also clean, but they were spoiled by the fact that the plug didn't work in either room, meaning a wet shave under a running tap every day. We slept well every night, and it was so quiet we were either woken up by the sun or an alarm clock! There was plenty of parking near to the property. The house was well placed for days out, such as to the Carlisle to Settle Railway at Ribbleshead, the Carnforth Railway with its 'Brief Encounter' exhibition (it was filmed there), and general day trips out to the Dales. Unfortunately, I had a bad experience with a rude and unhelpful woman at Reception on our final morning. But it was still a very good holiday in a beautiful part of the world.

    A lovely place and a great find , had a lovely week visiting the grandchildren who live quite close to the accommodation, a few small issues need addressing but nothing major, we will definitely be booking again in the near future

  • "Our 2nd visit to the marina but our 1st stay at 4 Teal House."

    Lovely clean and comfortable property, which is well resourced. We enjoyed the position of the house which gave us views down the marina. Handy to have a good pub so close and Arnside and Kirkby Lonsdale not too far away. Easy access to canal towpath for dog walks, inclement weather restricted how far we went this visit. Very scenic tho'. Ideal location for a post Christmas break and we hope to return.

  • "This was our 4th visit to Teal House."

    Always an enjoyable place to stay. There was tea, coffee, milk & cleaning products provided on arrival for the first time, which was very much appreciated.

  • "Apartment has everything you need for a comfortable stay."

    Kitchen is well equipped. Location is beautiful, lovely walks along the canal tow path. Excellent for dog walking. Easy access to surrounding area if you are looking to explore, including the lake district. Plenty of fish in the canal basin if you are interested. I set up just outside the balcony and caught plenty of fish, mainly decent sized bream. Thoroughly enjoyable stay, we will be back

  • "We found 4 Teal House to be an amazing place to stay."

    The house was above all that we expected. Everthing we needed was to hand. Beds were super comfortable. Location to Lancashire/Cumbria and Yorkshire a great benefit. Had to contact emergency telephone number on final morning as some of our electric had stopped working. This was at 6AM. The staff member who answered was amazing. She was so friendly and helpful. We were sorted out in less than 2 minutes. What terrific service. Thank you. Highly recommend 4 Teal House. Can't praise it enough.

    Good Morning , I am glad you enjoyed your stay- When I was up on the 21st June 2025, I read a comment from Samuel & Gladys Olive regarding the lack of tea, coffee &c in a welcome pack. I am greatly disappointed that this was nor provided as I had specifically requested this from the concierge services New Brooms. I will be taking this up to ensure that this occurrence does not recur. Otherwise thank you for your kind comments and hope you will return again soon.   • "Great stay at Tewitfield."

    Accommodation was clean and tidy with everything needed provided. Very limited cutlery and a couple of cracked glasses, aside it had everything required for a comfortable stay. Needs a bigger TV in the living room.

    A 4 further (8 in total ) spirit glasses and 4 further (8 in total ) highball glasses now added further 4 teaspoons, desert spoons knives & forks added. Dogs water fountain and twin dog bowl also added. Upgraded to a 50" smart television. The firmness of the mattress will be reviewed with the comments in mind when it is next due for routine replacement. I will mention the downstairs toilet towel situation to out concierge service.   • "House was comfortable and we had a lovely stay but there could be a few improvements to improve the stay."

    No hand towel in downstairs toilet. Some more cutlery, particularly teaspoons, would have been useful. Only 2 small glasses so had to use wine glasses for fruit juice. Double bed is very soft with little support. Not ideal for a person with a bad back. Dog bowls would have been useful.

  • "We have visited the Marina on several occasions and have enjoyed and loved every minute, we have 2 dogs and to be able to take them with us on a break makes it complete, our accommodation was absolutely faultless from the facilities to the perfect view of the Marina."

The picturesque hamlet of Tewitfield is settled in Lancashire beside the Lancashire Canal. Stroll along the Tewitfield Canal Locks for scenic views of the countryside, ideal for avid walkers and cyclists. The village is home to a marina, where you will find barges and boats and across the road is an excellent farm shop selling local produce and hosting crafts.
