"We had a wonderful time staying in the Manor House with all my family."
The house was spotlessly clean, lovely and warm and had so much space for us all to relax in. The hot tub was an added bonus we all enjoyed
-
"Check in and out times a little extreme - perhaps 4."
30 check in and 9.30 check out. Perhaps include bath/shower mat as wet floors can be slippy. We had a really enjoyable stay and enjoyed every minute. Thank you Manor House!
-
"Spacious bedrooms and lovely kitchen/ dining area."
As other reviewers have pointed out, a couple more big pans wouldn’t go amiss in the kitchen, but otherwise well equipped. Feels rural but shops nearby and handy for the motorway, central Manchester less than an hour away. Great location for walks.
-
"Excellent large family vacation property in the heart of the Lancashire countryside."
A perfect place to getaway from it all.
-
"We loved the cottage and it was everything we wanted it to be"
-
"Lovely stay, beautiful property would definitely recommend."
-
"Beautiful house."
Great facilities. Well thought out. Large enough for big family gathering. Amazing kitchen/dining area. Added bonus of hot tub. Lovely area would love to return to explore some local walks and attractions.

"We couldn't fault this property at all."
Everything was perfect. Our Kids enjoyed the hot tub, snooker table, games, and the t.v.'s. The house is really big, We couldn't hear Our Kids when They were doing Their activities. The house is wheelchair accessible apart from a small step at the entrance, and the downstairs bathroom being small but We managed. All of the bedrooms were perfect, with views of the beautiful gardens. We will definitely think about booking here again. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
-
"Fantastic house, lovely mix of old and new."
I was in the master bedroom and the shower tray was partially blocked. Water very slow to clear. Another member of the family in the downstairs bedroom complained the their mattress wasn't very comfortable. Cleanliness could have been better, we had to clean some of the kitchen trays etc. before using. However we all had a lovely time and didn't want our stay to end. Hot tub was a big hit, garden was great for kids of all sizes. Pool table kept the kids happy for hours and the conservatory is huge, additional seating in here would be good as when we were all in here once the rain started there wasn't enough seating for everyone. Great value for money, and would I book it again. Yes I probably would.

"We had a great second visit to The Manor House."
Fortunately we had read feedback from others before we went and noticed the wonderful coffee machine in the description was gone and there was not even a cafetiere to replace it. We also found the absence of pans and casserole dishes big enough for our party irritating. As usual the Sykes 9am departure time adds stress at the end of the stay. All in all a great week, the hot tub being a real winner with old and young alike. Thank you. Please publish this so future guests are aware of items missing from the published description.
-
"Hi the house is massive, every room and bedroom are very generous in size."
The gardens are impressive and the views are very nice. The kitchen/dining room was where we spent most of our time together and there was plenty of room around the large table and multiple chairs. The hottub was used by everyone over the week and it was warm and very clean. We would definitely go back again.
-
"A beautiful Manor House with many facilities to use during the stay."
Would have hoped for bigger cooking ware to use in the kitchen considering the manor accommodates for a large number of people - larger pots would have been useful. The electric hob was a little temperamental to use but did the job. Apart from that, we were very happy with our stay and would love to return again in the summer as we didn’t get a chance to make use of the garden as it was raining most of the time during our stay. All in all a beautiful Manor House and we had a lovely time!
-
"We enjoyed our stay at Manor House."
There were ten of us between the ages of 14 and 87. The house was warm and comfortable, the games room and hot tub were particularly popular and the large kitchen diner was a very good room to socialise in. There were a a couple of discrepancies in the listing information as there isn't a twin bedded room upstairs and also there was no coffee machine or cafetiere in the kitchen.
-
"Had a fabulous time at the Manor House."
The place was clean and cosy, exactly as described and perfect for our party of 8. It's our second booking of the property and it met our needs just as well as our first visit. Already planning our next booking here next year!
-
"Our big extended family group of twelve enjoyed this spacious house with plenty to explore in the area, good local facilities and pleasants walks from the property despite the sometimes inclement weather during our stay."
We appreciated the number of large reception rooms, secluded gardens, ample parking, games room, hot tub and huge dining kitchen. We had a lovely week together but feel we should point out things we experienced that could be useful. It's a shame that one doublebedded room is so small and that there is neither chair nor small table in most bedrooms. Cooking appliances (Esse range, oven/micro combo, 2-ring induction hob) meant a lot of forward planning and took some getting used to. A few bigger pans and dishes would be handy too when trying to feed twelve hungry mouths. Shower areas would benefit from some shelf storage ( particularly in the wet room). Happily a shower drain, blocked on our arrival, ( and which must have been noticed by the cleaners) was promptly sorted by the efficient and friendly maintenance team. There are a couple of discrepancies in the listing of which the owner is now aware. (Finally, although we've stayed in many large houses over the years, the 5 p.m key collection and then 9 a.m departure times were a shock, especially since we rushed everyone, met the early call, but were chatting in the carpark until after 9:30 a.m on the last day and the housekeeping team had still to arrive... ). Hope that's useful. It's a great place to stay with very helpful hosts.

"The Manor House was perfect for our stay, we had 9 adult and 1 baby, they provided us with a cot as well."
all rooms were very spacious with enough cupboard space for 2 ppl in each room. the directions were spot on, so easy to find the manor house. Not the best place to cook dinner etc but i think that was because we didnt understand the cooker properly. and only 1 small issue, the bathroom door downstairs didnt lock, but otherwise, everything was perfect for family holidays!

"So sorry that this response has been delayed."
We just sent everyone home and are having a moment to breathe and reflect. We very much enjoyed the house and the grounds were spectacular. Unfortunately one of our granddaughters broke a resin bunny and we are happy to replace. Many thanks for sharing your home with us and most especially for the early check in.

"Great house."
Lots of room, quiet but near facilities including a lovely pub/restaurant and comfortable furnishings. Best to use Google Earth or similar to "spot" the lane entrances but then access very easy and parking obvious. Lovely gardens. We found it ideal for our family gathering.
-
"Beautiful grounds and house."
Great place to stay for a large family gathering. The snooker table was well used due to the terrible weather and there was plenty of televisions to keep the children and older family members entertained. Kitchen was well stocked with utensils, the owner very quickly came round after a message was sent to inform him of a lack of wine glasses which was much appreciated. Lovely pub nearby serving excellent food, well worth a visit and only a five minute walk.

"Wonderful property, very comfortable and excellent facilities."
We had a few issues which, unfortunately, could not be resolved. Heating in upstairs bathroom not working which made for a very cold room especially in winter. There was water running down the inside of a bedroom window presumably caused by failing mortar which I made manager aware of so it doesn’t do more damage to a lovely building. I hope the manual for the hob is found too, we managed to get it working once we realised it was an induction hob but it is useful to know!
Hi Corrinne, Thankyou very much for your feedback, and we are glad you had a lovely time! We were not aware of the heating problems; however, we have had an engineer to the property and the heating system is now fully up and running as it should! We will investigate the issue of the leak in the upstairs bedroom to see what the cause is, and we will obtain a new manual for the hob. We are very grateful for the feedback as we are very proud of The Manor House, and we want to make sure its looked after and at its best for each guest that stays there! Kind Regards The Owner. "The Manor House was a great place for our large family stay."
Lots of space and lovely and warm. The large kitchen area was perfect for family gatherings round the table. The garden and hot tub were a great plus but we were a bit disappointed when the gardener arrived unannounced on our first morning and then produced a notice saying please keep off the grass, quite difficult when we had 4 young children with us and the large garden was a reason we had chosen the property! This was not made clear in the property description or house rules! Some further appliance instructions would also have been helpful for using the cooker and to have been able to use the coffee machine and jacuzzi bath would also have been a bonus! Other than that we were happy with our stay thank you.

"After much searching and researching of the area we booked the house for a family getaway/birthday celebration."
The house had everything we wanted/needed for our weekend. However, on arrival it massively surpassed all expectations...what a gem!! From the moment we arrived we were all overwhelmed by the beauty of the area and the quality of the house! It has more space than you will ever need, so wonderfully warm and inviting. The kitchen quickly became our favourite place, so social and well equipped and having the hot tub just outside was fantastic. The games room and conservatory were well used too...fabulous addition to the house. If we were to nit pick, we would offer a recommendation to look at the plugs in both baths and kitchen sink, as none of them held water very well, I stress this is a recommendation not a critisum as it in no way effective our stay. We are already looking at coming back we loved it that much. The Stanhill Pub and Kitchen is also definitely worth a visit, food was absolutely delicious and it's just a short walk away from the house.

"Beautiful property but holiday marred by several easily rectifiable faults."
Access directions could be improved. On arrival no toilet rolls,no scourer, no washing up bowl. Very few wine glasses. Information book lacked significant instruction information for central heating, coffee machine dishwasher etc. Ground floor shared bathroom/toilet could not be locked. some cleaning issues e.g coffee dregs left in coffee machine many crumbs etc under kitchen chairs/sofa, one bathroom waste bin full.
Hi Anne, Thank you for your feedback and we're very glad you enjoyed your stay. All the items mentioned were delivered to you during the meet and greet, unfortunately, at times we do occasionally run out of stock items and we have to purchase more. As such, we ensured you had all the relevant items and plenty of them for the duration of your stay. The central heating system was fully labbelled and a demonstration was given during the meet and greet, and if any additional tuition was needed our manager as explained was too hand if required. all other instruction manuals if not in the pack are available on request, however, the majority of items are self-explanatory. The "Coffee Dregs" in the coffee machine are because as explained this item of equipment has failed and as we are not replacing it, we are awaiting a quiet period to have a joiner come in to return the space back into storage. As regards the other cleaning items, I will ensure the cleaning staff are made aware, but please do note this is a substantial property and although a lot of care is put into making the house immaculate for your stay occasionally people do miss things. Kind Regards, The Owner. Property Owner

"Wonderful home in a lovely location."
Rarely would we want to book the same house twice but this one we did!
-
"Owners were extremely helpful and friendly."
I did share with them that the description clearly stated a twin room without ensuite that we'd earmarked for 2 children who in fact had to share a double bed...not ideal. We'd have brought a futon if we'd known. One other minor quibble...the kettle is so small! With 9 adults all wanting a cup of tea at the same time we had to take turns and wait for multiple boils which seems unnecessary as bigger kettles are available. But otherwise it was an idyllic holiday and we loved the period features and gorgeous gardens. It was a very special time for our whole family, thank you very much!!

"What a place!"
It's huge and has all the facilities you might want. There are two lounges which we never used since we spent all our time in the conservatory/games room. This became our party room. Kitchen is equipped with everything you might conceivably want, there are more tvs than you'll ever need, great private hot tub and lovely gardens. All the bedrooms are of ample size and bedding is lovely and clean. Only two tiny negatives. The built in coffee machine didn't work, probably because previous guests hadn't cleaned it. My brother in law spent two and a half hours cleaning it out and brought it back to life. Also the downstairs spa bath doesn't function. Should mention the Stanhill Bar and Kitchen which is just staggering distance away. Good pub with a large dining area and the food is to die for. Would recommend booking if you want to eat, especially for larger groups. So to sum up, had a week here for my wife's birthday and would thoroughly recommend it for a group holiday.

"Fabulous house, well stocked, warm and cosy."
Comfy beds and plenty of wardrobe space. Hot tub and games room were used by all of us. Plenty of seating outside and we were lucky as the weather was sunny and warm 5 days out of 7. The local pub is a ten minute walk away and well worth a visit. We were there to celebrate my 70th birthday and had a great time all week Jonathan and Emma are very friendly and helpful and responded straight away to texts when we had a question to ask.
-
"Lovely property in a great location."
Has everything you will need. Snooker room and hot tub an added bonus. Local pub serves great food. Lots of local walks. Had an amazing time meeting up with friends.
-
"This was our 5th family holiday and was the best accommodation."
Manor House is really lovely and comfortable. The games room and hot tub had a lot of use and the kitchen/dining area was also well used area as well. Beds were comfortable and plenty of bathrooms. Fantastic place and hope to return next year.

"A really good property for a family gathering with facilities for all."
-
"We stayed at the Manor House as part of a large family group to celebrate a 50th birthday and would definitely recommend the property."
It is a lovely large house which has more than enough space for a large group, including two lounge/ sitting rooms for anyone wanting to watch tv or enjoy some quiet time. The photographs do not really do the property justice. The snooker room and the hot tub were great additions and got much use by our group and the large kitchen / dining area is great for dining and socialising. The owners were very helpful when responding to questions before we arrived at the property and came out extremely quickly to resolve an issue with the coffee machine. The only slight issues/ possible improvements I would highlight were that one of the mattresses on one of the zip linked beds was a little uncomfortable and more detailed instructions for the range cooker, filling the coffee machine with water and opening the velux windows in the kitchen would be very useful. Possibly more storage / shelving in some of the bathrooms for wash bags / toiletries etc would also be useful as would a dressing table in the lovely large main bedroom. But overall we have a fantastic time at Manor House and would recommend to any large groups looking for somewhere to stay.

"Beautiful holiday cottage and very spacious."
Cleanliness needs some attention, as in the fire had not been cleaned out from previous guests, floors hadn't been cleaned properly and windows dirty however beds, towels and everything else perfect. Would of been nice to have had a few tablets for dishwasher / washing machine, logs for fire and more tea towels. On the whole fabulous beautiful home which is perfect for a group of people.
Thank you for your feedback, glad you enjoyed your your stay!, the floors are cleaned every week, however with them being 100% wool carpets we cannot wash them as often, however we will arrange for them to be professionally cleaned. The windows are cleaned inside & out once a month, we will monitor this we may need to increase the frequency. We do leave a welcome pack which includes dishwasher & washing machine tablets and tea towel's, we will leave additional out going forward. Kind Regards, Jonathan. Property Owner

"A superb house, just right for our gathering with friends."
-
"A beautiful house with 6 good sized bedrooms (3 en-suite), 2 sitting rooms, 1 large kitchen/dining/living room, 1 games room and a conservatory, set in lovely, well-tended gardens, in a quiet area."
Everything was clean and tidy, and the owner was incredibly helpful and generous when we called with a couple of queries. I would definitely recommend The Manor House and hopefully, we'll be back for another stay.
-
"Lovely, spacious house that has loads of room for a big, extended family."
It is a great base to go and explore different areas. The only drawback is that check in is at 5pm and check out is 9am.
Hi Zara, Thankyou for your feedback, unfortunately due COVID we have to carryout additional cleaning and this takes longer than usual, as such we have had to extend the cleaning times to compensate. Sometimes the cleaning is actually finished prior to the usual check-in times, so if you ring ahead it maybe reasonable to check-in earlier. Kind Regards, Jonathan. Property Owner

"We really enjoyed our visit to Manor House in Stanhill."
We are an extended family with 8 adults and 4 children, so the huge dining room / kitchen became the centre for our family gatherings. The wonderfully laid out gardens were great for family fun and the hot tub seemingly in constant use. We also took delight in having a few games of snooker in the games room.
-
"Superb property very clean and plenty of space for all of the family ."
Great hot tub
-
"What a beautiful house, spotlessly clean very comfy beds, lovely modern bathrooms with great water pressure and hot water no matter what time of day."
The garden is gorgeous and a setting for relaxing in the hot tub. The house has everything you need and more right down to the very posh coffee machine. We contacted the owners a few times and they got back to us straight away and were very helpful and friendly. Our favourite place was the games room leading to the lovely conservatory, the kids loved the snooker table and hanging out in there at night. I would highly recommend this house the local pub is less than 10 min walk and has amazing food, lots of takeaway options too and the place is great as a base for lots of day trips.

"We had the most amazing time at The Manor House, the house was incredible."
The house managers were so lovely and answered all our questions. Super helpful and would definitely stay here again!
-
"Stayed here bank holiday weekend, the house is huge and amazing!"
Emma met us upon arrival and was so friendly and welcoming, she shown us how to use the facilities and made us feel at home. This house is so spacious and has a great energy about it, lots of outdoor space and has a car park for all guests, the hot tub is also bigger than we thought and the manor has a few amenities we didn’t expect! We will definitely be returning and already can’t wait for our next stay.

"The holiday home was delightful."
The owners had thought of everything and it was well equipped. All the bathrooms and bedrooms were newly refurbished to a very high, modern standard. The host was very helpful to us during our stay. The house was very spacious and we enjoyed the games room and the hot tub. It was a lovely quiet location with good transport links and central to all the main attractions in the North West and only 30 minutes from the lovely beach at Lytham St Annes. We would highly recommend the property to others. Would be ideal for a family gathering or 2 families holidaying together.
