"Lovely cottage very comfortable, beautiful view from the garden which we enjoyed on the first evening."
Kitchen very well equipped, comfy beds and great shower. Great location within easy reach of many of the main sites for the Lakes, plus the coast not too far away either!
-
"Bridge End Cottage was the perfect base for our week long stay in the area."
The kitchen was so well equipped with everything we needed, and the cottage had three areas for family eating including a table in the lovely cottage garden at the back. The cottage provided ample space for us all - five adults plus parents in law staying at a local B&B, to spread out and find space. There was lots of outside space to park and lovely local walks along the river. All before exploring the wonderful lakes beyond. It was the perfect place to return to each evening and spend time in on a wet day, with DVDs a plenty and fab TV. Thank you. We could not recommend more.

"Wonderful cottage with large, comfortable beds, well appointed kitchen, smart bathroom fixtures and a beautiful sunny garden."
Great location with a riverside walk a minute from the house, and easy access to Windermere and Coniston lakes. The driveway is located on a blind bend, but by using both the viewing mirrors, we easily managed to avoid any close encounters with other cars.

"Lovely Cottage - great amenities."
Please let people know that dogs can't be left on their own or go upstairs to avoid problems.

"Just got back from a lovely stay at Bridge End Cottage, the cottage was delightful and had everything (and more) that you could wish for."
Perfect location for exploring the lakes and the beaches, we visited some very pretty little villages. There was a river walk just a few minutes from the back door, just right for an early morning stroll with the pooch before setting off out for the day. The garden was delightful and it was a pleasure waking upto to such a spectacular view each morning. The welcome gift of wine was just the icing on the cake. Thank you xx

"Very bad entrance and exit to the property."
On a blind bend , there are mirrors but need to be bigger. First few days we were spraying fly killer to kill flies coming out of a crack in a roof beam. Then water came in when it rained through the same crack. The cottage is surrounded by run down buildings. Wish I had seen this before we booked.

"Lovely Lakeland Cottage, we were kindly accommodated at the last minute, but very comfortable and well appointed accommodation, owners very helpful and also local caretaker who met us on arrival very friendly and helpful."

"All in all we had a wonderful stay."
We loved the safe enclosed garden for our dog, as well as the cosy log burner, well equipped kitchen and the comfy bed. We thought the location was great to visit many locations in the Lakes, and we had a great time driving around to visit lots of places and went on some amazing walks. We really appreciated the bottle of prosecco on arrival, thank you! A few things we think could make this cottage even better. The cottage in on a blind bend on a semi busy road where cars go very fast, something to bear in mind if you have young kids or a dog as there's no gate. Getting out of the drive felt dangerous as you can't really see, and the mirrors to help you do so really need a clean to help with that. Sofas were a little uncomfy due to the springs but not the end of the world! If you have a dog too note they're not allowed upstairs, something we would have liked to have been told beforehand as our dog isn't used to sleeping downstairs on his own. We unfortunately experienced some building work next door which was quite noisy at 8:20am on 2 occasions, again just unfortunate timing and not the end of the world but a bit frustrating when you want a quiet break. All in all we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it but just a few things to note above.

"Fabulous property, had everything we could need."
Very comfortable and clean. Lovely setting and view and good local walks for the dog. Quiet village, excellent for exploring South Lakes with ease. Thoroughly enjoyed our peaceful week, wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. Just one thing, the garden is rather overgrown so not too easy to pick up after the dog! The gardener didn’t turn up on the Tuesday as advised but this didn’t spoil our wonderful week. And thank you for the added extras, much appreciated. Would advise anyone to book Bridge End Cottage!

"An enjoyable week at the cottage and surrounding area is wonderful."
On first impressions a cottage full of character. Comfy beds, good shower (need to be able to stop water from spreading) larger screen? Unfortunately, we found cleanliness lacking. Many kitchen items dirty, fluff and debris under beds and sofa cushions. We were unlucky enough to have a wet week and had leaks to both lounge windows and centre wall of the snug, contacted owner, left voicemail - no response. Getting out of drive is risky, kerb drop needs sorting, we bolstered it with shingle from the yard. Lakes fabulous. The cottage needs attention, full review on trip advisor,
I do try to provide all our visitors with information about the cottage via email before their visit and specifically mention to get in touch if they have any queries. I am sorry that, on this occasion, your voicemail message was not responded to. Unfortunately, I was abroad and while I could pick up email and text messages I could not receive voicemail. There are two contact telephone numbers provided in the visitor information book so someone is always available to be contacted via telephone if required. I was disappointed to read that you felt some things at our cottage were below your expectations, however, I was pleased to read you had an enjoyable week nevertheless. I understand that the rain and wind were particularly serious that week and in such bad weather sometimes water does find its way in to old properties. I have ensured that all involved in looking after our cottage are aware of your comments. It is reassuring to note that the visitors the week before your visit, left lovely comments in our visitor book and the week following we were thanked for the thoughtful extras and for it being extremely well equipped. "An excellent place to stay, well located and well equipped for a good break in The Lakes."
-
"A lovely cottage, ideally placed for exploring The Lake District, and indeed the beautiful coast."
Within walking distance of the Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway which runs to the shores of Windermere and the boats that cruise the lakes. Also very safe for our dog, with east access to local walks.

"Great cottage, garden was a bit wild but our grandson loved and the patio and furniture were nice."
Inside was everything you needed, lots and lots of character but mod cons to nice modern kitchen and bathrooms and also good wi if and a smart tv. Would def recommend

"Beautiful setting and gorgeous property."
Everything it said it would be! Clean, tidy and welcoming.
-
"Lovely property with a mix of traditional but with modern facilities."
Good quality appliances to cook and everything on hand that you would need for a week away Gorgeous view from rear garden. I loved the little quaint luggage tags that had hints for where things were kept. They looked so much nicer than seeing notices. Appreciated an array of dvds to choose from as we got back to base for dark at night so plenty to watch and relax. Garden is dog secure so that helps you relax too. Warm and helpful communication throughout the booking and our stay. Many thanks.

"Generally the cottage was warm, welcoming and very well equipped."
We were disappointed that the nearest pub, within walking distance, was closed down ( we had planned to eat there a few times). There are no other pubs within walking distance so felt the information should have been updated. We found the front door giving access to the garden was difficult to open as the key and the lock were very stiff, this was somewhat disconcerting as it was labelled as a fire escape. We acknowledge that we were warned that the property was on a corner but the entrance into the yard and exit onto a main road was a very tight turn and due to the uneven yard surface tricky to enter and exit.

"Lovely to arrive and find a bottle of wine and a pint of milk - thank you."
Lots of towels provided which was a huge help Plenty of seating for all guests We loved the garden - excellent seating provided Third bedroom a bit cramped but manageable We really enjoyed our stay and the house felt really welcoming

"This was a return visit to a lovely cottage and it certainly didn’t disappoint."
The cottage is comfortable and homely with good facilities, particularly appreciate the lovely bathrooms, and perfectly located for exploring the Lake District. We had a wonderful stay and once again the holiday was over all too soon. Looking forward to returning again .

"Great cottage, very comfortable and well equipped."
Good access to the lakes, plenty of eating places close by and a great wee local in the Anglers Arms Good food, reasonably priced and an easy walk from the cottage!
-
"A lovely cottage nice and quiet and peaceful, with some nice touches."
Exit of drive a little tight, but no problems overall. Would recommend to others without hesitation.

"Perfect in every way"

"We felt very much at home in the cottage."
It is very comfortable and the Aga stove kept the sitting room warm and cosy in the evenings. The kitchen is easy to work in and we loved the underfloor heating in the shower and bath rooms and the easy to sweep flag and wooden floors. A real bonus was the access into the fenced garden, which made it easy to take the dog out in the morning and evening. The footpaths both across the field to Low Wood and the bridleway and to Greenodd (sheep free at the time) meant that I could let our dog off the lead. High Dam is another safe place, as is the beach at Askam, but there are many lovely walks nearby. Haverthwaite is a friendly village and ideally placed to access the Lakes, the Cartmel peninsula and the quieter west coast and Western Lake District. We saw a lot of our family too! The owner was very helpful and friendly and we thoroughly recommend this lovely cottage.

"Characterful, well presented cottage with cosy logburner for winter stays."
Well equipped with thoughtful touches.Plenty of parking.Very welcoming host. Nice woodland walks nearby and enclosed dog friendly garden. Larger driveway mirrors would be helpful to negotiate the concealed entryway and exit. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend Bridge End Cottage.

"Excellent location, well equipped new kitchen, and cosy living room with log burner."
A river at the bottom of the garden leading to beautiful walks. Thanks for a perfect stay & the bottle of bubbly in the fridge! Would highly recommend and will definitely stay again :-)
-
"A lovely place to stay nice to have a log fire burning in the evenings."
Being able to let the dog out in the garden knowing it was fenced off gave us peace of mind. We had everything we needed plenty big enough and very clean. Very enjoyable holiday spent there.
-
"The Cottage was sympathetically enhanced by the new kitchen and bathroom."
-
"Lovely cottage with lots of additional touches which made our stay extra special."
Perfect and would definitely return
-
"The downstairs shower kept escaping out of the bathroom so could probably do with a longer shower screen."
Lovely cottage in a great location. Lots of utensils to use in the kitchen which came in handy.

"The cottage was all we hoped for and more."
So comfortable with thoughtful items provided - waterproof OS maps, books of walks, netflix, logs and kindling, coffee pods....... I could go on. The cottage is much bigger than I though and the pictures don't do it justice, which was a welcome surprise. The bed was comfy, the shower was excellent and loads of fluffy towels.... We ate twice at the Anglers Arms, just up the road, they served decent food at reasonable prices, don't be put off because it looks a little tired.
