• "Had an amazing stay to celebrate my 50th birthday in the Lancaster lodge."

  As previous reviews have said the welcome basket was really great and I really appreciate the birthday card from Shona. This is my second time at south lakes leisure village and stayed in a lovely lodge further down (Doormouse) previously. Lancaster lodge is even better, really well maintained (sadly other lodges on the site don’t have the same care as Shona puts into this one) with lovely furnishings, comfort and everything you need for a wonderful stay. A full sky tv package, Netflix, Amazon etc was great on those rainy days but they were few and the balcony was an absolute sun trap from morning until night with real good quality rattan furniture. A couple of minor improvements would be sofa bed seemed to dip in the middle so may need repaired/replaced with a normal sofa (the other sofa was lovely) and maybe an airer for washing. The four of us plus Bailey our Cocker Spaniel were gutted we had to leave after a weeks stay and I am trying to book somewhere else for the second week as this unsurprisingly is booked. This has been challenging as I am comparing others to this amazing lodge and ruling them out. I will definitely be back and already looking for next year. Thanks Shona for such a wonderful stay and everything you do to make this a great experience.

The sofa bed had been damaged by previous guests, when we inspected it we saw that the board between the sofa cushions and the bed itself was upside down - upon correcting this it has made the sofa a lot better . The clothes airer is located behind that sofa - sorry you were unable to find it, I mention its whereabouts in the welcome letter and it is also on the itinery list. We would absolutely love for you to return in the future and thanks once again for your lovely comments :) Property Owner

• "Great place to stay."

  We met friends who had travelled by train. They had a difficult journey, so it was brilliant to get easily settled in the lodge we shared and find there was everything we needed. The weather was a bit wet, which limited our touring of the area, so it was comforting to enjoy the lodge facilties. Thank you Shona. We hope to repeat the visit sometime in the future

• "Very clean, comfy, well presented, matching decor."

  Nice thick towels. Plenty cupboards. Not far to Carnforth for shopping at coop, aldi, Tesco. Not much more there though. Not far from the lakes and plenty other places to visit. Pub on site is small, but staff are pleasant. Menu is limited but still enjoyable. Site is very pleasant to walk around,well maintained.Would stay there again.

• "Absolutely gorgeous lodge which was so well stocked, spotlessly clean and the welcome tray was very generous."

  The park was quiet which was lovely but didn't have anything to do for young children expect an obscenely priced swimming pool. Luckily we had good weather so we're able to get out and about. You also have to walk to the lodge which wasn't signposted the best to get the fob to let you through the barrier which was a bit of a pain. Would definitely book again though and had a great holiday so thank you Shona

However, it only takes a few minutes to walk to the lodge to collect the fob and then you have free access through the security gates for the rest of the holiday - Shona :) Property Owner

• "Nice, well presented accommodation where everything worked well and was well maintained."

  Sky Sports and Movies with the ability to log into our Netflix and Disney+ accounts is a great feature and the welcome pack is a nice touch. The leaflets rack was helpful with lots to do within 15 minutes of the lodge. The only real negative was having to eat breakfast and load the dishwasher with enough time left to run and unload it before 10am. While having to strip the beds, put the linen and towels in the laundry bag and take away all the rubbish.

  We have been coming to this site for 12-13 years and have stayed in many of the lodges but the extra touches this owner provides like a beautiful welcome pack full of treats and even a one for the dog was amazing by far the best welcome we have ever had so can definitely recommend this lodge will definitely go back thank you for the great holiday

• "My wife and I stayed at Lancaster Lodge from 09/06/23 to 16/06/23."

  We had a fantastic stay. The Lodge was absolutely immaculate and very comfortable. The cleanliness was first class. It was an absolute home from home. We were accompanied by my Mother In Law and mr Niece and her boyfriend who also thought the Lodge was superb. The Welcome Pack was simply amazing and the complimentary Prosecco went down a treat especially since the weather was so hot. Cannot recommend Lancaster Lodge enough. Shona had made us so welcome and the fact she was just a phone call away to sort out any problems was fantastic. We had no problems whatsoever so that speaks volumes itself.

• "The lodge was truly beautiful."

  Five star accommodation and perfect location for a family getaway. The owner had thought of everything and we were overjoyed to see a welcome pack of refreshments. These are the ‘extra mile’ things which made for a fantastic start to our holiday. Very classy. We would highly recommend to others.

• "This is probably the best I have stayed in over the years."

• "We spent a lovely week at Lancaster Lodge."

  The Lodge was pristine and comfortable with all the facilities you would need for a week away. The outside deck area was a real suntrap and when we weren't out and about enjoying the local area it was nice to relax and soak up the sunshine. We enjoyed time at the park...the on site restaurant, water's edge was nice, prompt service and lovely food. The swimming pool was very good too, the children loved it! We also enjoyed plenty of walks on and off the site with our dog. There is loads to see and do just a short drive away. Would definitely recommend Lancaster Lodge as a base to visit this area, we would certainly stay again! • "The lodge was as described, everything we needed and well thought out."

  Comfortable beds, pillows & quilts etc. living area also comfortable for relaxing. We didn’t get to use the balcony so much as the weather was typically British! Best welcome pack we’ve ever received! So grateful for this I almost cried as our journey was horrible and much longer than expected! Something for everyone in the family to set us up for day 1. If the park facilities are important to you, it’s worth a look beforehand, as they seem to be undergoing a period of change. The pool was lovely, but the opening hours for the bar/restaurant were limited during our stay. Otherwise if you’re looking for a great base then I can highly recommend Lancaster Lodge.

  We loved all the little extra’s, and luxurious decor. It’s still quite a task to find good quality pet friendly lodges but Lancaster Lodge exceeded our expectations, and our little dog Rosie settled in straight away. We enjoyed the peace & quiet on the park, with the added bonus of the Lake District on the doorstep, the location was ideal.   Although size of beds given the third bedroom had tiny beds really only acceptable for small children. Lovely facilities within the cabin and a great welcome package. On the whole enjoyed our holiday.

I am somewhat perplexed by your comments surrounding the images and the accuracy so to speak for my property. This is the first time someone has mentioned such comments. I would like to assure yourself and my future guests that what you see in the images in my opinion are true and accurate to reflect the size of the property. • "Firstly, after a 6 hour drive the welcome pack was so generous and thoughtful i would like to say a huge thankyou to the owner."

  Secondly, the lodge is exactly as you see in the advert, absolutely beautiful and spotlessly clean with every culinary utensil and gadget you would need in a home. Thirdly, the location is fantastic from a wonderful beach front walk, hiking the mountains, hiring a boat on the lakes, shopping in the most beautiful towns of Windmere, Bowness and Ambleside or simply enjoying the exquisite country walks. I would definitely recommend this amazing Lodge and will be returning hopefully in the near future

  Although the holiday village is fine, it lacks facilities. The nearest shop is over 2 miles away, only accessible by car. It would benefit from a small shop on site. Also a playground.

  The welcome pack was amazing & very much appreciated on our arrival it contained lovely personal touches for the guests & our little dog. The entire lodge was immaculate & very modern, luxury comfort home from home. We slept really well in the comfortable beds & the facilities in the lodge were fantastic, everything you needed. Easy access to all surrounding beautiful villages & towns. The owner Shona was amazing & exceptionally helpful. We would highly recommend this lodge as we had a fantastic time.
