  • "Adam & Caz were lovely hosts for the week and have a wonderful cottage/hotel in a great location in Thwaite, the room was amazing with heating, comfy beds and self catering."

The area surrounding is also beautiful with views of Kisdon and Great Shunner Fell. Local villages such as Muker and Hawes offer good days out or things to do like the Wensleydale creamery and Dales countryside museum, just a short drive over the scenic Buttertubs Pass! We would recommend and look forward to revisiting!

  • "The perfect location for anyone who wants to explore the Dales on foot."

Located on the Pennine Way and not far from the Coast to Coast with a wealth of other hills and dales to explore. The village is so picture postcard Dales village. I hardly used the self catering kitchen as the local villages all have pubs with good food and excellent beer. The landlord / owner was always around and always had time for a chat.

  • "Swaledale is a beautiful area, with good walking straight from the accommodation."

Town facilities are a fair distance away, although there is a small shop in Muker, the next village. The apartment was perfect for two, with comfortable seats in the living room and queen size comfortable bed. The proprietors were very welcoming and helpful, with wine, milk, and biscuits provided on arrival. Don’t rely on eating in their restaurant, though. You may be able to sometimes, but they are not open every evening. The bar is available downstairs. So we mostly cooked in the apartment. If the proprietor would like to make one small improvement, a shelf above the washbasin in the en suite would be useful.

  • "We enjoyed a most, relaxing comfortable stay."

The owners were helpful and welcoming. The apartment was well equipped and warm. A most comfortable bed too. Lovely views also. Thank you.

MUKER

Thwaite 1 mile; Reeth 8.9 miles; Richmond 25.5 miles

Muker is a village and civil parish at the western end of Swaledale, one of the Yorkshire Dales, in North Yorkshire, England. It is situated within the district of Richmondshire. From the late 19th century, Muker witnessed an increasing number of visitors and holiday makers, and today the village boasts many walking opportunities, with a selection of public footpaths in Upper Swaledale. Muker also hosts a village shop, as well as an art gallery, craft shop and a café within the old school building. Originally the Vicarage, the Muker village tea shop was built in 1680 and retains much of its 'Olde worlde charm' today. The River Swale runs parallel to the village, with Kisden Hill offering a charming backdrop.
