"Lovely cottage."
So comfortable and clean. Had a lovel stay. Shame about the weather. Owners were very nice. There if we needed but didn't bother us. Perfect .
-
"Lovely clean and comfortable cottage."
Very cosy. Single track road is daunting at first but soon got used to it. Friendly owners live close but still feels very private. Lovely area with lots to do. Thanks very much for a nice stay.

Friendly owners,we hope to come back again one day.
-
"Fabulous property!"
Clean, comfortable, cosy and great location. 3 miles from Settle and just far enough away to have total peace & quiet
-
"Absolutely lovely cottage and the views are amazing, the cottage has everything that you need to have an amazing time and the owners have gone over and above to make sure that everything is perfect."
-
"Lovely welcome pack wine, milk, biscuits, tea, coffee and warm welcome by Vanessa the owner to their lovely cottage."
The kitchen had everything you would need to cook any meals, beds comfortable and the wet room was just perfect for a wheelchair user - spacious, grab rails. We arranged for Asda supermarket to deliver our food which they did even though the cottage is down a long single track road.
-
"Lovely rural cottage surrounded by peace and quiet."
Owners extremely friendly and helpful. Ideal for wheelchair users.
-
"Property maintained to an exceptionally high standard ."
Owners particularly helpful and went out of their way to ensure our stay in their beautiful cottage was a really positive experience. Superb location for a peaceful relaxing holiday.
-
"We had a peaceful and very quiet rest in this extremely clean, spacious and well appointed cottage, cared for by Vanessa and Ray."
It was off the beaten track, which we loved, and with views of Ingleborough, we only had the sound of birds, cattle and sheep in this tranquil haven. Routster Cottage has had many happy guests and we were certainly among them. We hope to return!
-
"We have already passed on our very positive feedback telling them how much we enjoyed our stay."
-
"Fabulous cottage, good hosts, no fault in anyway"
-
"What a lovely holiday retreat!"
Great accommodation - spotless, comfortable, with everything we needed. Warmest greetings and a welcome pack from our hosts made it extra special. There are wonderful views from the cottage, and so many fascinating places to explore in the surrounding countryside and beyond.
-
"The family enjoyed a wonderful stay."
Thanks to our hosts, we were armed with plenty of info so we were able to make the most of the local area. The cottage itself is superb - very cozy and well-equipped with everything that you'd need.
-
"Excellent cottage."
Remote, but the directions were fine. It was very quiet and the sunsets were gorgeous. Cottage was larger than it looked on the photos, plenty of space for 4 adults and a little one. Accessibility easy for wheelchair, as was sitting room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. Kitchen very well equipped. Warm, clean - just what we needed for a great week.
-
"Excellent standard of accommodation in a lovely location."
Cosy inside with views of the hills and the starry night sky. Hosts very welcoming. Hope to visit again.
-

"The cottage and location was just perfect."
-
"A very clean cottage with superb equipment and facilities."
The site is clean, tidy and well kept and the location is superb. There is a wonderful view from every window and the only sounds are of nature and the occasional train whistle in the far distance. The single storey accommodation and wet room were ideal for someone with impaired mobility. I would highly recommend.
-
"Very Clean and well equipped"
-
"Looking out from Routster Looking to the north now, what is that I see?"
Ingleborough in silhouette, shadowed by some trees Looking to the east now, what do I see there? Majestic Pen-y-Ghent, with a solid steady stare Looking to the south now, what is that I hear? The sound of munch munch munch, it’s the cows who live out there Looking to the west now, what is now in view? The old farmhouse, converted barn and hills dusted in dew (The owner had checked and redone some cleaning tasks up to very high standards)
-
"This is a beautiful cottage, lovely surroundings."
Great place to stay. Light spacious, welcome pack appreciated. A good place to chill out, or it is at the beginning of the 3 peaks so good for walkers.
-
"This beautiful cottage off the beaten track is the perfect place for a lovely relaxing holiday, the cottage was so comfortable spotlessly clean and very well equipped, real home from home feel."
The owners made us so welcome, we will be returning.

-
"Quiet and secluded."
Surrounded by animals and hills. Beautiful location near Settle off A65 so great for exploring the Dales and further afield. Cottage is extremely well equipped for all self catering needs.
-
"Routster Cottage is a ‘gem’."
It is in a lovely location with beautiful views across fields to the fells. The cottage was spotlessly clean, warm, comfortable, well kitted out & furnished with taste. The owners are very helpful without being intrusive. This was our first visit to the cottage & hopefully it won’t be our last.
-
"Routster cottage is in a semi remote position down quiet country lanes but in an idyllic position."
The owner Vanessa greeted us on arrival to answer any queries. The cottage was beautifully clean and exceptionally well equiped with every single thing needed for a great holiday. The wet room with power shower and jacuzzi bath if super! Lots of lovely walks within a short drive and Settle is a lovely town with plenty of shops, cafes, pubs & restaurants. We would definitely book this cottage again.
-
"The owners were very helpful and friendly we would highly recommend the cottage for a lovely peaceful holiday"
-
"Routster cottage is fantastic."
Extremely comfortable, warm, well equipped and a super location. You can walk from the cottage or find many great places to visit / walk just a short drive away. The views are amazing, and we saw a little owl on a face post from the window – brilliant, and a curlew in the field next to the drive. Underfloor heating was great for drying our walking gear (it didn’t rain every day).
-
"We enjoyed our week at Routster Cottage."
It is extremely well situated in a lovely setting and still quite close to Settle. This cottage ranks amongst the best that we have stayed in and was extremely clean and well stocked with everything that we could need for a perfect and relaxing week. The local countryside is exceptional and there are some excellent walks only a short distance away. We would have loved to stay longer! We also found the bathroom with whirlpool bath and walk-in shower amazing, especially after a long day out walking. Would highly recommend this cottage.

"What a gem!"
We were amazed that the property has been let out for quite a few years as it looked like it had only just been available for holidays. We were spoilt with the weather, which was unseasonably warm in April, and enjoyed the lambs outside the property. The view is magnificent and the owners very friendly. Settle and the neighbouring area is stunning. The road and track to the farm was of no bother, with plenty of passing places when we did come across anyone. My husband required a couple of extras as he required a higher chair in the lounge and a seat in the wetroom - both of which were in the property when we arrived. We would highly recommend this property to anyone.

"What a gem!"
!!! Stayed for 5 days over Christmas. Property immaculately clean with a beautiful Christmas Tree and decorations. Vanessa had kindly placed a high back chair for elderly relative for Christmas Day. Property warm and cosy. Real fire (logs purchased Home Bargains prior to arrival) Fantastic views. Every conceivable utensil for making full Christmas Dinners. Table decorations provided. Oh and the jacuzzi bath with kindly provided bath salts with a drink of the lovely 'sparkly provided also a must!!! All rooms spacious plenty of hanging space beds very comfortable. Porch area for outdoor boots and coats. Washer and dryer very useful if staying a few days Will definitely visit again without doubt
-
"Perfect cottage as we took my 90 old year partly sighted father the fact it was on one level with level ground outside was just the job , owners put in a high backed chair in living room and a chair in wet room , which was very useful."
Well equipped with Samsung TV , Blueray player Humax and Play Station ,WIFI was very good we watched Netflix using Chromecast with no trouble. Access along single track road but plenty of passing places, we had no problems even with towing a trailer. Views from house towards Peny Ghent are stunning.
-
"Stunning location, I would return."
-
"Routster is a modern, well equipped, spotlessly clean and comfortable cottage in a lovely off-the-beaten-track-setting in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales perfect for anyone who values absolute peace and quiet."
Welcoming owners close by who make it clear they are just a call away if needed but otherwise leave you alone to enjoy your holiday home. This is a cottage to return to.
-
"A lovely cottage in a beautiful location."
The owners were extremely welcoming, the cottage well furnished and with stunning rural surroundings.
-
"What a lovely comfortable, exceptionally clean cottage,so sad to leave yesterday,so peaceful."
And tranquil an absolute must to visit, you will be met with two very attentive owners who made our stay so memorable,if this is your kind of holiday, please book the Rousters Cottage
-
"It would have been good to know the distance into the cottage before we booked, especially from now on when weather isn’t so good, as it’s almost impossible to go onto the grass verge, no real passing places as sign posted, had to reverse back about a mile at one point until we could find a safe bit to stop to let traffic past."
Everything else was excellent and we enjoyed our stay very much .
I am really happy that Mrs Thomson and her party enjoyed their holiday at the cottage and I very much enjoyed chatting to them. I would like to thank her for the good rating she gave the cottage. However, Mrs Thomson's claim that she had to reverse about a mile shocked me. A mile is an extremely long way and I'm sorry that she felt it was that distance. There is a single track road of over 2 miles to the cottage but there are plenty of passing places - wider bits of road, entrances to houses and fields and a number of grass verges which are usable even in winter. In the 17 years I have lived here I would say the furthest I have ever had to reverse for another vehicle is less than a hundred yards and that is a very rare event. I am just sorry that Mrs Thomson was unable to locate a suitable place to pull into and hope her experience will not put her off visiting this beautiful part of the country in the future. "A beautiful cottage in a stunning location."
Well equipped and comfortable. When I told the owner that my husband was experiencing difficulty getting out of the settee, she immediately arranged an upright armchair for his use. Nothing is too much trouble. Just need to be cautious when showering as the floor is very slippery when wet, I would highly recommend this property to anybody who wants to visit the Forest of Bowland, Yorkshire Dales or the Lakes.
-
"A haven of peace and tranquility in a most stunning area."
The cottage is very well equipped and is well planned out, sockets everywhere and next to mirrors, major hotels please take note. Exceedingly clean with quality fittings. It is a good base for the Yorkshire Dales and Forest of Bowland.
-
"It was a beautiful cottage in a fabulous setting, wonderful to get away from built up southern uk!"
-
"We have just returned from a wonderful week in Routster Cottage and can't wait to visit again."
The cottage was spotlessly clean with every home comfort possible provided. Ray and Vanessa made us feel really welcome and could not do enough to make sure we enjoyed our stay in this beautiful part of the country. It was so peaceful with just the birds and the sheep with their lambs to be heard, an amazing secluded spot with 360 degree views. Watching the lambs in the adjacent field was highly enjoyable.
-
"This was a really excellent cottage and honestly I can think of nothing the owners could do to improve it."
The quiet location surrounded by beautiful Yorkshire countryside was all we were looking for; the cottage facilities were very good with quality furniture, beds etc and well set up for self catering but with a variety of eateries very close by. As this was the lambing season we were treated to the gentle bleating of ewes with their lambs who also provided entertainment as we sat in the sunshine. The holiday arrangements were straightforward as always through Sykes and the owners were very helpful and available if required. We will certainly go again..
-
"Routster Cottage is delightful."
It is cosy, clean, comfortable and has everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Sat indoors with snow falling outside and in front of the roaring log fire with a good book, just bliss. Even bath salts were provided for the fantastic whirlpool bath. The surrounding countryside is stunning with views to Pen Y Ghent from the cottage and walks from the front door. A truly great break away.
-
"Routster Cottage is a beautifully maintained and presented cottage with excellent facilities."
Our daughter is a wheelchair user and the large wet-room bathroom was ideal for her needs. The cottage is set in beautiful countryside with good access to the Yorkshire Dales and is also close to the main road between Skipton and the M6.
-
"The owner, Vanessa made me feel very welcome."
The cottage had everything you need for a real home from home comfort.
-
"We received a lovely, warm welcome to this delightful cottage that is set in beautiful, peaceful surroundings."
The cottage is fully equipped with everything we could possibly need. Even Storm Callum couldn't spoil our stay! I would recommend it to anyone that wante to visit this part of Yorkshire.
-
"One of the best cottages we have stayed in."
-
"We knew straight away as we drove the long track to the cottage we’d chosen the right location, it’s stunningly set with beautiful views in all directions, as we stepped in the cottage the first thing we noticed was how spotlessly clean it was followed by the high standard it had all been finished in with great attention to detail."
Vanessa came over on the first evening to greet us and just explain a few things, she is a lovely helpful lady and as my partner is 8 months pregnant asked if there was anything extra she could do for us which was nice. The addition of a pair of sheep in the back field made for great entertainment as on occasion they came right up to the house and would bleet a hello when going to the car, the wood burner was great and we found a Morrison’s in Kendal which sold big bags of hardwood logs for £5, the cottage is extremely well insulated, considering we stayed in winter we had the underfloor heating off most of the time because the cottage just didn’t seem to get cold which is a good thing, all in all we’d definitely visit again and when the new baby is older enough would love to go back.

"What a gorgeous cottage this really is , surrounded by stunning scenery and great walks close by."
The cottage itself is beautifully appointed warm and spotlessly clean. Everything you could wish for is there we even had a slow cooker! The owners are very close by should you require anything and they are so friendly and welcoming. I have stayed in many cottages and this one wins hands down my highest recommendation is we will return hopefully very soon.
-
"An absolutely wonderful place."
Peace and quiet with only sheep for neighbours. The owners gave us a wonderful welcome and were always available if needed. Great views and a challenging one track ‘road’ to access the property. We would all recommend Rouster Cottage to anyone.

"This was one of the best cottages we have stayed in, a real escape to the country."
Cleanliness was very good. The bathroom with the exception of the square toilet seat was excellent. Views went on for miles. Plenty of cooking equipment including a steamer and a slow cooker. Wifi exceeded 40 Mb/s. Mobile reception was also good on EE and O2. Would definitely visit this property again.
