Owner also had adequate information about places to eat, and take away. We will gladly recommend this holiday outlet.

  • "This property is of a very high standard."

Good location away from the rowdier parts of the town. Easy to come and exit Blackpool. All the amenities and equipment is modern and easy to use. Our only downside, 2 of our party was in their mid-seventies and the only toilet was on the ground floor. Steep stairs made this a little difficult during the night...But overall a very good/modern cottage is we'll worth a visit.

  • "The house was very nice , The stairs are very narrow and steep, when i came out of the bedroom there is a step directly outside the bedroom door and my wife fell down it, breaking her foot, its very dangerous , The TV had no live tv ,bbc or itv , just net flix , we got in touch with the owner who did bring an aerial but this did not work."

My wife had an appointment back at the hospital on Tuesday and we went home from there. There has been no contact from the owner, regarding my wifes accident to see how she is ,in my opinion is very poor.I have tried to raise a complaint with Sykes Cottages , but told they are to busy to deal with the complaint

Thank you for your review. Firstly, I wish to say I was most concerned to hear of your wife's recent fall and I do hope she is okay. The property is a period cottage and as such it has quirky features including a narrow steep staircase and a step up into the master bedroom - the step and the staircase can clearly be seen on the photographs on Sykes’ website and the property has been described as “unsuitable for those with limited mobility”. With regards to the TV aerial - the recent strong winds had dislodged the antenna so that BBC could not be tuned in, we were not aware of this when you arrived the day before NYE. As soon as you informed us there was an issue my husband purchased a brand new aerial and went up on the roof to fit it in 40mph winds and driving rain as we were determined to make your stay a great one. When he offered to enter the property to tune in the TV you told him it was OK you didn’t need it now and you were going to go out. If you had contacted us to let us now it was not working he would have returned immediately as we only live 10 mins away. As for your point of lack of contact from us - we had sent to you 2 days prior to your arrival our welcome message including information on our welcome pack, which included 2 bottles of Champagne & Chocolates to help you celebrate the New Year. We are sorry if this wasn't sufficient for you. My husband did speak to your wife about the accident and he did ask how she was getting on - this was when she told him that she had turned the bedroom light off as she left the bedroom and she then tripped down the step. We have owned the cottage for around 5 yrs and never had this issue before however we have now added a permanent nightlight to the area to prevent this happening again. We are truly sorry your stay at Kitty Cottage did not meet your expectations and we wish your wife a speedy recovery. Property Owner

The host Angela is lovely :) On arrival there was a basket full of goodies which was lovely. Everything in the house is so clean if not brand new! It is very well equipped. As soon as we unpacked we felt like we were at home. It was so convenient to us and we were near everything we needed. Would 100% recommend Just perfect!

  • "Apart from a few niggles that were due to the newness of the listing this is a well appointed well equipped cottage with thoughtful owners that added some great touches."

you can park outside with no restrictions which is rare in Blackpool and is within easy walking distance of the pleasure beach for normal fitness but is a bit far from the tower and sea life etc to walk comfortably. id recommend this cottage and would stay here again.

The cottage was fully equipped with absolutely everything you could possibly need. It was beautifully decorated and an absolute pleasure to stay in. We were warm and comfortable and our every need was catered for. The welcome pack was incredibly kind and the owners communication before our visit was very reassuring. We would highly recommend this cottage to anyone wanting to visit Blackpool and the surrounding areas.

About the location

BLACKPOOL

Lytham St Annes 6 miles; Preston 17 miles.

Blackpool is famous for being a seaside resort on England's north west coast. The town is on the Irish Sea, between the Ribble and Wyre estuaries, 17 miles north west of Preston. Blackpool has been popular as a holiday resort since the mid-18th century when it became fashionable in England to travel to the coast in the summer to improve well-being. Blackpool's seven mile sandy beach and promenade are still a popular attraction today with donkey rides, fish-and-chip shops and theatres. Other landmarks include the Blackpool Tower, Blackpool illuminations, the Pleasure Beach, Sandcastle Water Park, the Winter Gardens, Blackpool Zoo, or take a ride on the first generation tramway the only surviving one in the UK. Nearby the seaside towns of Lytham and St Annes-on-Sea nestle along a picturesque stretch of coastline lined with pretty parks, whilst walkers and twitchers will adore the rolling sandy dunes of St Annes-on-Sea and the Ribble Estuary providing a safe haven for more than 250,000 migrating birds that return each winter. The area is internationally renowned for golf with seven courses to choose from, the most notable being the Royal Lytham & St Annes Old Links Golf Club, one of the host courses for the Open Championship. Boating, cycling, shopping and swimming can all also be enjoyed nearby, along with award-winning restaurants, traditional pubs and wine bars should you fancy celebrating. Whatever you want from your seaside getaway, Blackpool is an ideal choice.
