"We stayed at Camellia cottage around 4yrs ago and fell in love with it for so many reasons - situation, comfort, lovely garden so did not hesitate returning."
Unfortunately we felt a bit disappointed by its air of uncared for tiredness! Lots of dusty corners and spiders! Garden a bit uncared for, garden furniture you couldn’t use unless you wanted to dirty your clothes. Decor tired looking. We noted the property is for sale and did wonder if this was the reason. Sadly we probably wouldn’t book again

"Beautiful cottage, all mod cons wonderful garden which provided a gorgeous sight from the bedroom windows, whilst sitting up in bed, quiet, serene."
Only niggle would be no downstairs loo, but 2 upstairs .would recommend it.
-
"Lovely cosy cottage with all you would need for a lovely stay."
The kitchen was very well stocked with appliances and I now wanting an induction hob for home - so fast!! Just a couple of very minor niggles - Took us ages to work out the TV as looked like it was either brand new or had restored itself to factory setting, but we got there eventually. (Had to reprogram and retune with date and time....) Also, slightly misleading about the 8 min walk to the pub and 'shoreline' - really it meant to the Marina and the restaurant there which wasn't really to our taste but it wasn't actually a lie - my fault for assuming it was a proper pub and the main promenade....didn't change much as we seemed to be driving every day anyway but would of been nice to be able to walk to a pub and both have a pint of the amazing local ales

"Lovely cottage in a perfect location."

"A very comfortable stay in a well equipped cottage."
It was an excellent base to explore this beautiful part of the country

"We enjoyed a long weekend break at Camellia Cottage."
The cottage was clean and tidy with all the necessary equipment needed. The beds were very comfy and the water supply for showers and baths was hot and plentiful. The cottage is well situated to Bowness and easily accessible to the rest of the Lakes. We enjoyed our stay and would return again

"We had a fantastic holiday and rest which was needed."
The cottage was beautiful, warm, clean and comfortable. There was plenty of great walking without having to take the car which was a total pleasure. It was a very rainy week and having such a great place to stay didn’t put us off going out as we knew the cottage would provide comfort in the evenings. This is our first time renting a cottage for our holiday and I am thankful and very happy with everything. We would even come back if there was an opportunity to do so. Thank you so very much. "Excellent property for our trip to the Lakes; our small group of four were very happy with the accommodation."
The cottage is ideally placed for visitors to Bowness, being a short walk into the centre of the lakeside area. It was comfortable, clean and very well equipped for our stay. Very minor observations, were i pushed for them! - would be that the BBQ needs replacing (although we didn’t use it anyway) and also perhaps that the TV might benefit from upgrading too (but as the weather was splendid and we were barely inside this is a moot point!) Thanks to the owners and to Sykes!

"Lovely quiet property with everything that you could need for a great holiday."
.comfy beds, hot showers and great views.

"The cottage was lovely & in a lovely, peaceful & private area; It was really lovely & comfortable."
It was generally clean, but If I had to clean it, I would do the bottom part of the radiators, & have a cleaner oven. I know we were only there for a few days, but there was no cupboard space for cereals etc. The one thing I was frustrated with was the induction hob, there were no instructions in the file & I looked in the drawers etc, but found nothing; I rang Sykes & was told someone will get back to me - no one did , I worked it out myself. My husband isn't computer minded, so he'd no idea!

"Cottage is in perfect location."
Very quiet but close enough to walk into Bowness for the shops and restaurants. Only marked down on the cleanliness as the cottage hadn't been cleaned after the last guests. Fortunately the previous guests left it clean and after a few phonecalls to Sykes head office two very nice ladies came out to sort everything out. They were very apologetic about the mix up. Lots of crockery and kitchen utensils if you want to cook yourself. Great showers too!! We would definitely book this cottage again. Recommended The Village Inn in Bowness, great service and lovely food.

"We had a lovely mid week break at Camelia cottage and found everything to be as advertised."
The property was very clean and warm and the kitchen was very well equipped. The cottage is in a quiet and peaceful location with a well cared for garden. The location to Bowness was perfect for us as we were able to leave the car at the property. The ferry is only about 10 minutes away and allowed us to have a lovely walk on the west side of Lake Windermere to Wray Castle. The centre of Bowness is only about 15-20 minutes away with some great restaurants and of course the cruises around the lake.

"We just had the most relaxing and enjoyable break because this holiday home excelled at every level."
First time in the lakes in February so we were a bit anxious about keeping warm and enjoying what winter brings. The cottage was lovely and warm to come back to after a cold day up the mountains. We would not hesitate to recommend this property. Thank you Skyes for another spotless and high standard holiday accommodation.

"We had a lovely week in this very comfortable cottage."
It was well equipped and within an easy walk to Bowness-on-Windermere. It was also perfectly located for trips to the other lakes. We would definitely stay again.

"Had a nice break at a good price."
-
"Area was good with lots of things to see."
Weather was very wet which hampered some things we would have done but cottage was lovely to go back to to dry out and get comfortable.
-
"Lovely clean and comfortable cottage with lots of home from home comforts"
-
"Great cottage with everything you need as a base to explore Windermere and other areas in the beautiful Lake District."
Parking spot was a bit tight with other larger vehicles sometimes beating us to it, so it was good that there were instructions that we could park on the grass at the end of the garden if needed. We had a wonderful week - thank you.
-
"Lovely cottage in convenient and quiet setting."
-
"Spotlessly clean , garden was well maintained ,bed was really comfy, view from the window was nice , having 2 bathrooms was great , one each lovely weather was warm so all in all we had a wonderful holiday."
Hope to return in 2022 , fingers crossed. Thank you .

"The cottage was lovely, comfortable and in an ideal position for a brisk walk into Bowness and we had a great time and the weather was kind."
Only issue was the car parking. We arrived and found our space and parked fine. However Gavel cottage next door had another couple turn up to stay and they parked behind the first car which made it nearly a 7 point turn to get out and we had to mount the paved area of another cottage. We then came back from our trip and thought we’d try to park in our space only to find they also had visitors and they had a smaller car than ours and they had parked in our space. Fortunately in additional notes in our cottage it said we could park on the grassed area at the end of the garden which we did to avoid any further problem.

"Cottage was lovely."
Very warm and cosy. So many items provided there was little room to store our food!! EVERTHING needed in the kitchen is supplied. There is space to park a second car, on the lawn at top of garden. A gentleman comes on Thursday to put out the recycling/wheelie bins for the 3 cottages in the complex. Maintenance info: the extractor fans and radiator boosters in the bathrooms don't work.

"Suggest you give better directions to the property as Sat Nav doesn’t work in the area."
-
"The cottage was a very good base to explore the area."
Local facilities were easily reached on foot, including restaurants and transport links. The garden was a very pleasant place to sit and relax. The kitchen was well equipped for eating in, also it is possible to have a home delivery of groceries. Bearing in mind the covid-19 threat, we were impressed that there was hand sanitiser and surface wipes, also hand wash liquid in both bathrooms and kitchen. As with most tourist destinations there were the inevitable crowds in popular places, but we did find a variety of destinations that were much quieter making us feel for confident to be out and about. The only small problem we had was locating the cottage in the first place as our sat nav directed us to roads that appeared to have no access to the address. These roads have private signs at the entrance but do in fact give access, this was very confusing.

"Lovely house - not as near to town as we had thought, but peaceful and pleasant."
The house itself is spacious and just as described. The TV free View is useless ( the bandwidth isn’t right? Causes loads of frame freezes and pixilation). We logged in for prime and nexflix. We struggled with the induction hob. No instructions. We think that only the front left hob is working out of 4. Couldn’t get the other to work. Had to google it. Beds were clean and comfy, towels provided and hand wash but no shower gel or soap, so take your own. Plenty of hot water and the showers had a fabulous powerful flow. I would recommend this place - home from home

"Good location but found it hard to find on arrival, could do with a couple of bed side lamps in the Twin bedroom."
Apart from that it was a lovely cottage.
-
"Excellent cottage, really cosy, beds really comfortable."
Very clean. Great location. Would definitely use cottage again.
-
"The accommodation was tremendous."
It would be nice to have some starter facilities for tea or coffee, but overall we were very impressed and comfortable.
-
"The cottage was excellent so home from home."
There was everything you needed and top quality furnishings. It was perfect and had a fabulous week and even the weather was excellent.

The only negative we have was that it was more than 10mins walk, we thought we would b able to walk into town but we had my father who was 87 and wasn't fit enough to walk into town

"We had a very nice stay in Camellia Cottage for a week 15/3 to 22/3/19."
The cottage is very well equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The garden is beautiful with lovely flowering shrubs & plants, we even saw a couple of Deer at the bottom of the garden. It is a short stroll into Windermere centre with beautiful shops, restaurants & of course the beautiful Lake Windermere, would recommend this cottage.

"Have booked accommodation through Sykes on many occasions and have always been very satisfied with the standard of properties and efficiency of the company."
-
"Cottage was so comfortable, clean and warm for our very wet and cold long weekend away in the lake district."
Due to the weather, we spent a lot of time playing board games and watching DVDs and it was great. Also within driving/ walking distance of a lot of great restaurants and pubs in Windermere town itself!
-
"We had a fantastic holiday, the cottage was very clean and very comfortable."
The bedding was hotel quality and we didnt want for anything in the cottage. Highly reccommended
-
"I have little to add."
We expected a comfortable home from home type cottage and that is what we got. Everything was how it should have been and the description was accurate. It took approximately 30 mins to walk into Bowness and it was flat walking all the way. The cross lake ferry (cars) was not working and it seems it may not be until at least September/October time so if you want to take a car across you can not and you will have to drive around. The foot passenger service is operating as usual. The scenery is lovely so it is no task at all. All in all we had a lovely break away in the lakes.
-
"Very comfortable house with a good selection of gadgets for cooking, ironing and living."
Close to good walks into Bowness. We went to many local lakes and went swimming in Grasmere.
-
"The cottage was lovely in a great location."
We will definitely try to book again for future holidays.
-
"The cottage is in an ideal location with ample parking."
The car and pedestrian ferry is literally at the end of the lane. There are pheasants in the garden too. The cottage itself is very well equipped and comfortable. Just lovely.
