Great views over surrounding countryside and easy access to main roads. Skipton compact little town with lots to offer. Also enjoyed seeing sheep, hens and goats in adjoining fields. Welcoming bottle of milk very much appreciated. Owners helpful, welcoming and accessible.

Really love the cottage, spacious and clean, with nice safe area to let the dogs out. Enjoyed exploring Skipton with easy access to the town and park via the towpath as well as the railway station giving access to numerous local attractions.

"We had a fantastic week in the very comfortable and well appointed Jess Cottage with our two Norfolk Terriers."
Great location for exploring the local area and further afield with ease. Secure garden for the dogs and a lovely sitting area to sit unwind and watch the canal boats after a day exploring. Totally recommend to anyone wishing a comfortable stay in the area. Recommend Fountains Abbey for a visit.
-
"Wonderful cottage, well kept and very spacious."
The cottage had everything we needed for a comfortable holiday and the views from the cottage were beautiful, a very relaxing holiday. The tow path alongside the canal is excellent for a walk into the lovely town of Skipton. Would definitely book here again.

"Fantastic property."
Location cleanliness facilities.
-
"The first thing we noticed was how true to the photos were the rooms."
Having booked the cottage in order to have family over during the day, the space was important and the cottage was perfect for us. Then add the beautiful views, cleanliness and furnishings and we just didn’t stop praising it all. A lot of thought has gone into providing an ideal holiday home and we will definitely be back - if we can book as we see it’s a very popular cottage.
-
"This is an excellent cottage which we are unable to fault."
Whoever designed/equipped it has got it exactly right. We especially loved the showers! It was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The small enclosed garden was perfect for our dogs and we loved sitting looking out of the window. The nearest pub within walking distance is Heriots Hotel which is about 30 minutes along the tow path. Thank you for providing such great accommodation.
-
"Excellent property with a very helpful host regarding where the best places to visit were."
The cottage was very well equipped with all of the essential and non-essential things we needed to make our stay a pleasant and comfortable one. We have every intention of staying there again.
-
"We had a lovely week at Jess cottage, perfectly positioned just on the edge of Skipton so handy for shops, restaurants, takeaways."
Well situated for exploring Yorkshire, we went to Malham, Grassington, Fountains Abbey (National Trust) did one of the three peaks also walked along the canal into Skipton to the castle and the woods. The cottage is dog friendly with a nice enclosed garden, amazing views with a huge window and comfy chairs to sit and admire it. Well equipped and spotlessly clean. Would highly recommend

"Brilliant place!"
Loved it as soon as we entered the property - it was clean, well laid out with quality furniture and with everything you'd need in a kitchen. The view from the sun room over the canal to the hills beyond was lovely and the enclosed garden was great for our dog to wander in and out. Bedrooms, each with their own walk-in shower had lots of storage and hanging space. Nice comfy beds. Loved it so much we booked another week whilst we were there for later on in the year.

The decor and furnishings are excellent and the beds very comfy, there was plenty of hot water and the heating kept us cosy. We loved all the local walks along the canal and the cottage is located close to many towns, the station and supermarkets. We hope to return as we enjoyed our stay so much.

"Lovely well equipped cottage, in a great location close to Skipton and the Dales."
Probably one of the best cottages we have stayed in, very clean, comfy bed, sofas and chairs, beautiful views. Even baby lambs in the field in front of the cottage, so entertaining, thank you, will hope to be back soon

"A very comfortable cottage and very spacious, even for 4 adults."
Lovely views over the hills and canal. It's a great location for getting out and about for all that the Dales has to offer. We would certainly return, but can see that next year is already looking fairly booked up, which tells you something! Thanks for a wonderful stay.
-
"Absolutely loved this cottage & the view was beautiful"
-
"Beautiful, spacious cottage in a wonderful, peaceful location."
On the outskirts of Skipton, it’s quiet, with a lovely view of the Dales and canal, but just a mile walk from the town and restaurants. The cottage had everything we needed, including a thoughtful pint of milk in the fridge on arrival. We loved the neighbouring animals, including the goats and chickens, and the sheep wandering in the adjoining field. Plenty of parking space, and everyone we met around the farm was cheery. Would definitely consider coming back.
-
"Jess Cottage was fantastic."
Everything had been thought of and it really was a home away from home. It was clean, spacious and had the most amazing views. We will definitely be coming back.
-
"The cottage was beautiful, We could live there."
The view was to die for, very centrally situated for access to Skipton and the dales. Small secure garden was ideal for the dog. We'll be back

"The photos on the listing really don’t do this property justice!"
The cottage is so spacious, yet it feels so cosy. The views of the canal and countryside are fantastic, feels so rural yet you are either a twenty minute picturesque walk or 5 minute drive away from the shops. All areas of the cottage are extremely well equipped, a real home from home with secure walled garden to keep pets safe. They also sell their fresh eggs which were lovely!
-
"Booking through Sykes was an efficient process and very easy."
Jess cottage was lovely, absolutely got the right balance between being practical for having dogs but still all very clean, cozy and welcoming. Views across the countryside were stunning. The location just outside Skipton was ideal for us.
-
"This cottage was an excellent choice for us to visit the Skipton and surrounding area."
It was like a home from home with all of the comforts and more. The cottage itself was immaculate and very clean. It has two bedrooms both ensuite and all of the facilities to make our holiday very peaceful and enjoyable. The views are exceptional and we all enjoyed a relaxing time after our days out looking over the canal and on to the hills with a cosy blanket over our knees and a hot drink in our hands. There were plenty of local farm shops selling local produce and the farm itself sold fresh eggs. We would definitely recommend this cottage as a central point for anyone visiting Skipton and the surrounding area. It is ideally situated for walking, cycling and going out in the car. We had a great time.
-
"This was our third visit to jess cottage so i think its safe to say we love it there."
Everything about it is perfect.
-
"Brilliant week, wonderful weather a good bonus, would definitely return here."
Cottage roomy and very well supplied with all essentials, in all a terrific weeks break.
-
"After finding a holiday let that suits us and visiting three years running, we are very disappointed that looking forward to next year to see such a huge increase in prices."
The increase adds at least one hundred pounds per week and has made it too expensive and sadly we will have to look for an alternative.
-
"We enjoyed our stay at Jess Cottage."
To get to the towpath we obviously had to walk through the farmyard to walk over the bridge. Just before the bridge the farm had 2 dogs chained up either side, who launched themselves at us (we also had a dog with us). The owners did reassure us that they were actually friendly, but my dog and I were definitely not comfortable with the experience each time we wanted a walk. The views were wonderful and we loved watching the barges.
-
"This is a well equipped and comfortable cottage on a farm just outside Skipton, next to the Leeds and Liverpool Canal along which there are excellent towpath walks."
It has a big view across the valley and down towards Pendle Hill. It is an excellent base from which to visit North and west Yorkshire, northeast Lancashire, and up to Westmorland. Highly recommended.
-
"Lovely walk into Skipton along the canal very relaxing not to isolated -perfect"
-
"Just back from Easter weekend stay at Jess Cottage."
4 adults and 2 dogs! Fantastic! Beautiful views, canal on the doorstep and cottage exceeded all expectations. Beds were so comfy and lovely ensuite bathrooms. Nothing too much trouble for Jeanette and her staff. Of course the wonderful sunny weather helped, sat in the garden looking at the amazing scenery. Would highly recommend and it would be ideal to hire all properties for a family gathering. Can't wait to return

"Being able to walk along the towpath into Skipton town was a bonus also plenty ..."
Being able to walk along the towpath into Skipton town was a bonus also plenty of places to visit from this lovely, comfortable cottage
-
"The cottages are beautifully situated with good views of the Liverpool Leeds canal and the excellent surrounding countryside."
The interiors have every facility you could want and they have been set up with a sense of luxury. You feel happy and welcome from the moment you step through the door. Could not recommend more highly.
-
"The cottage was beautiful and had everything we needed."
It was lovely to watch the boats go by from the patio or sat in the cosy lounge. The owner was very friendly and helpful. The dogs loved the canalside walks. We had a wonderful holiday. Would recommend this cottage and hope to book again next year.
-
"Lovely cottage in a wonderful spot."
Being located within grounds of a farm makes it very secure. Sitting in the lounge bathed in sunshine drinking tea and looking out at the canal boats slowly passing by is a most restful experience. Skipton itself is a unique shopping experience with so many local retailers and fewer of the ‘nationwide’ lookalike shops. Can not recommend this cottage enough.
-

Niffany Farm Cottages
A group of four terraced cottages, located on a family-run working livestock farm on the outskirts of the ever-popular market town of Skipton. Nestled alongside the Leeds and Liverpool Canal and the owners' private moorings and small campsite, in an open paddock, these cottages provide a wonderful holiday base whether booked together or separately. Each boasts outstanding views across the sweeping surrounding countryside towards the beautiful moorlands above Elslack and the Broughton Hall Estate. The cottages have been designed with modernity in mind to offer contemporary, luxury living in an enviable location, out in the beautiful Dales countryside and yet only a short walk from the many attractions of Skipton. Many of the bedrooms have flat screen TVs and come with luxury en-suite facilities, while the living areas each offer a cosy woodburner or open fire. Outside are private gardens adjoining each cottage, along with a shared clubhouse. Niffany Farm is very much a living, working farm and so any younger guests will adore observing the animal activities and daily comings and goings, while there is a shared clubhouse for everyone to enjoy. Lovely canalside walks lead from the doorstep, taking you straight into Skipton centre where you’ll find a wide selection of restaurants, tea rooms and coffee shops, while the traditional market sells fresh local produce throughout the year. Booked individually or as a group to accommodate larger gatherings, these charming cottages are wonderfully-placed for your Dales getaway.

Known as “The Gateway to the Dales”, Skipton is well placed for visiting all that the Dales has to offer, whilst York, the Lake District and the West Coast are also within easy motoring distance. This lovely market town has much to interest the enthusiastic visitor, boasting an ancient castle open to the public, a beautiful old parish church and a colourful market occupying the cobbled setts each side of the high street. In 2014, The Sunday Times named Skipton as Britain's "best place to live" and two years later placed it among the nine best towns in Yorkshire and the North-East.
