"Enjoyable stay."
Very well equipped. Main bedroom mattress uncomfortable and creaky. Cleanliness of the lodge needs improvement i.e cobwebs around windows inside and out. Main bathroom needed cleaning before use. Washing machine front dusty. Fridge could've been cleaner. Lovely location being so close to the lake.
Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback.
We do find that mattresses are down to personal preferences.

"Good lodge in a nice location of a well maintained park."
Park's location is good for bus travel and bus services are better than many places.
Owners emphasise treating the lodge like you would your home and this is an attitude we always adopt. They request hoovering on departure and was happy to oblige. However the cleanliness of the lodge didn't match our home or our expectations. We understand dog friendly and walker premises can become tired quicker than properties not offering these services and we are grateful for such premises but the lodge looks like it hasn't had a seriously good clean for a while. Cobwebs on windowsills and worktop along with built up grease and dust on microwave betray quite a neglect. Leather settees not particularly practical either.
We didn't let all this detract from a good sized and well located property and wouldn't put anyone off staying here but we will say that in such a competitive market it wouldn't surprise us to find equally attractive properties with better cleanliness are readily available.
All in all then a good stay which with a little raise in standards of cleanliness could be even better
Thank you for your feedback.
We are sorry that you felt let down by the cleanliness of the property. We would like to add that had we been aware during your stay, we would have been able to resolve. The lodge is cleaned to high standards on each booking.

"The lodge itself was lovely, had everything you could need for a weeks stay, only disappointment was the TV which didn't even have freeview channels and, as the wifi was limited, you couldn't connect a fire stick or chrome cast."
This may sound trivial but when you are in when the weather is bad this can be frustrating! We left on thursday afternoon rather than spending another evening with limited TV. We did buy a couple of DVDs and left for the next guests. I had read reviews about the beds, but honestly didn't think this was an issue.
Also, there were dirty knives, forks and utensils, maybe just check prior to the new guests arriving.
On the whole, really lovely lodge with perfect positioning, just little niggles.

"We enjoyed our stay at Cottontail Lodge."
The lodge was clean, cosy and had everything we needed. The only complaint we had was that the mattress on the double bed was a bit uncomfortable. One of us slept in a single bed (which was fine) and the other slept in the double with the help of a piece of foam which we bought at the market and put on top of the mattress which helped greatly. Apart from that everything was fine.

The hob pan supports also the result of accumulated lack of cleaning - tried to clean them but they needed much more prolonged cleaning.
The freezer had a half eaten open tub of ice cream complete with chocolate flake left in, so obviously hadn’t been checked.

Having the gate for the balcony area around the lodge was perfect for allowing our 2-year old to have a toddle around safely. The lodge itself looked really good, and the living/kitchen room open plan was really nice and spacious. Somehow kept the lighting in the room really bright, meaning even at around 10 at night, it was still fairly bright in there, no need to switch on the lights. The bathroom and shower was good, and the washing machine was handy, kitchen well stocked. Think the only negative for me was the bed, but it wasn't like I'd booked for the comfort side of things! The lodge was perfect a real home from home with every mod con you could possibly need and furnished beautifully. All the little extras like dishwasher tablets, bin liners, towels etc

"We recently stayed at Cottontail Lodge."
It was a lovely proportioned lodge with generous sized bedrooms. Nice cozy fire in the lounge and all mod cons. Very clean and tidy. We have stayed at White Cross bay twice previously and love the proximity to Windermere and Bowness as well as only being a short distance from many other Lake attractions. The onsite facilities are great. We booked via the site owners previously but found a much nicer selection of lodges with Lake District Lodge Holidays for the same price. We would not hesitate to stay again.

"The lodge was exactly as expected from the photos, it was lovely and clean on arrival."
There was handsoap in each bathroom and other little finishing touches which I hadn't expected. I've stayed in the park many times and this was the nicest lodge by far.

"We really enjoyed Cottentail Lodge."
We loved the shower in the es suite but had one problem. Not the fault of the lodge. My wife is disabled and couldn't use the shower as she can't stand in showers. Thanks to the help from the staff at Whitecross Baywho solved the problem for us. I tried to buy a plastic stool but could buy one anywhere. I went to reception and mentioned it there , a young lifeguard was on duty and said he would see what he could do. Later on the gentleman who was on night duty brought us a plastic chair she was able to use in the shower. Many thanks to him.
What did you enjoy most about your stay?
Everything. The beautiful Lake District.

Thank you for your kind comments and rating your stay so highly, Peter. We were so pleased to hear you really enjoyed Cottontail - a beautifully designed lodge in a stunning location. We were not aware that you required a lodge with a bath although we were pleased to hear this was resolved and you went on to have a lovely holiday in the Lake District, an amazing and unforgettable place. The lodge has become very popular since joining our portfolio in April and has received excellent reviews for the high quality accommodation and super location. A wonderful choice for a relaxing break to the Lakes.

"It was our first time in a lodge & our first holiday with our 1 year old."
It was perfect for us. Lodge was lovely & clean had everything we needed and more. Bathrooms & kitchen were lovely. White cross was ideal also as it had an indoor swimming pool for when it rained. It was also very quiet while we were there. It is a walk into Ambleside which would not bother us except the walk is on a very busy main road with a narrow pavement. Would stay again
