And all facilities were very well look after. Only 2 issues we had were the Broken Dining chair by the window. Which we were NOT made aware off. We booked our stay for 7 people, but due to a serious family emergency illness 3 of our group could not travel for My Birthday celebrations. Also just minor issue but would like to advise that the oven was not fully clean or the trays in oven so did not use. Club on site does not really cater for adults entertainment. Family entertainment for young children was ok but did not like the issue of the young children were allowed to runaround. I was very concious, of children falling especially with tables full of glass and how dangerous it could be if one was to fall. But I would definitely recommend Ruskin Lodge to family and friends. Issues with the boiler and low water water pressure was a big problem meaning there was no heat reaching the bedrooms and after 2 visits from maintenance they were unable to resolve it. Not sure if it is a park issue or a leak affecting the property as there was no signs of water leaks. In addition we could not get the electric fire to work! We would consider a return to the property if this problem was resolved.
Glad you liked our lodge . The water issue was a park issue and not just our lodge was affected. A temporary fix is now in place until the works on the site overall are completed. The boiler issue was as a result of the wider park water pressure issue and this is now fine . The electric fire is working and just needed to be turned on underneath, you could have contacted us through the app if you had issues. Hopefully we will see you back in the future . Property Owner

It was a terrible worry but thankfully he made it through emergency surgery. Whilst the staff tried their best for us the owner of the lodge was not understanding and refused to help us by changing the date to another time in the future not even a small refund!!! Hope he never has a similar experience. The insurance didnt cover us either. Needless to say we will not book again. Sorry we couldnt be more positive, this is the worst experience ever in all the years we have been using this company. But thanks to the ladies in customer service on Monday who were very sympathetic and concerned about our pet and did the best they could.
I am really sorry about what happened with your dog . As you requested to cancel on the actual day of arrival though, we are governed by the rules of LDHL which means you cannot claim a refund , that is all explained in their terms and conditions, it is them that you booked with , so it is their condition as the letting company, not ours as owners. A day of arrival cancellation with any holiday company would be the same outcome i am afraid, no matter what the circumstances. Again, we are really sorry that your dog was unwell and we are glad that he has made a full recovery. Property Owner

A couple of small items of feedback. The extractor fan in unsuited dripped onto toilet. The knows on the furniture in main bedroom came off and the water pressure in the showers was poor on occasions But overall fabulous place

"We arrived to a dirty lodge, with smelly laundry and bedding in bathroom."
Beds u made and lodge not cleaned. Took ages to contact anyone, eventually around 1800 we could unpack our belongings. On final morning we had cold water so no showers or able to clean around. Very disappointed that there wasn't a number for immediate help. Apart from that.loved the lodge and contents and can find nothing to fault. We were so lucky with the the weather, sunshine e all the way. Thank you Anne

"Absolutely fantastic."
A lovely lodge that felt very homely. It was incredibly clean and has everything you need. Very friendly owners that made sure everything was perfect for us. The lodge is in a great location, parking for two cars, 2 minute walk from the club house and sun all day on the terrace. We had an amazing time staying here and wouldn’t hesitate booking again.

. Beautiful decor & attention to detail, comfy, cosy & felt very much at home. We will back soon. The whole of the Lake District is amazing with stunning walks. The boat trips on the lake are super relaxing. Restaurants are very good, we tend to go for the ones that have local produce on the menu, these seem to be the best. If you want really good fish & hips try Driftwood in Bowness, just past the amusement arcade on the lake. Also The Queens Head at Troutbeck does amazing meals. 5 stars!

Park Rules and Operations – White Cross Bay
All holiday parks are owned and managed by a separate company to ourselves. Lake District Lodge Holidays has no association with the owners of these parks or responsibility for the provision of services they offer. At certain times of year, there maybe a reduction in those services, which is outside of our control.
Commercial vehicles, caravans, camper vans, Hen or Stag parties are not permitted onsite. Dogs must be kept on leads at all times and are not be left alone in the lodges at any point during your stay.
You will be staying on an operational holiday park, which means work may be undertaken from time to time by the park owners during your stay. Although Lake District Lodge Holidays will always try to inform guests in advance if something may impact on a stay and if we have prior knowledge. We cannot be held responsible or accept any liability for park operations of which are outside of our control and which we have no knowledge of.
Any issues relating to a stay at a privately owned lodge should be reported back through Lake District Lodge Holidays as the park are not responsible for managing the lodge or booking for private sublet guests during their stay.
