Ellis House was very comfortable and really well appointed.

The house has great views and a lovely garden. The off road parking was very helpful. We would recommend staying there to anyone. Great walks straight from the door. Great farm shop in the village. Lovely wood burner for cosy evenings. The card from the owners on arrival along with a delicious lemon drizzle cake was very welcoming. We had a great week. Thank you.

We LOVED Ellis House!

What a stunning cottage, and so tastefully decorated with a perfect balance of traditional features and modern essentials. Lovely comfortable beds, super-hot shower, well-equipped kitchen and very clean and spacious throughout. The heating was so effective that we didn’t need to make use of the open fire and its huge supply of logs. Airton is a great base for exploring this part of the Dales, and because we were lucky with the weather we did lots of long walks, including some from the door (the Pennine Way is a stone’s throw away). Grassington and The Dib, Malham (the quieter bits!), Ribblehead and Whernside, and the Leeds-Liverpool Canal around Gargrave were definite highlights. We’re already planning a return visit. Many thanks to Gill for the generous welcome pack – that lemon drizzle cake was a delight!

This is a very pleasant cottage.

If you are into staying in a place with character features and plenty of history , then this is for you. We found Ellis House to be well equipped and very comfortable. Big rooms and comfy beds and sofas. Nice back garden with a view of Malham cove in the distance. The welcome package of a bottle of wine and a home made cake is always appreciated after a long journey. A really nice village, and literally only a stones throw from the Pennine way and the river Aire. Also a great base for those who like exploring local walks away from the regular tourist trail. We would definitely look to stay here again if the opportunity arose in the future.
