What guests are saying
This is a lovely, well-maintained, spacious and clean cottage.
The beds are comfortable, and the kitchen well-equipped. There is a beautiful garden at the back. The location is quiet and ideal for walkers like us with plenty of walking opportunities from the door and a short drive away. Ideal for exploring the southern part of the Yorkshire Dales. There are several places to eat our in nearby Gargrave and a useful Co-op and pharmacy there.
Although the weather was unseasonably hot during our stay, a fan upstairs would have made sleeping easier.
Catherine was a great host, the setting was beautiful and house lovely. Beautiful flowers, garden and walks close by. Well worth a stay.
The Nook is a delightful cottage, spotlessly clean and very well-equipped (in particular the wonderful modern kitchen).
We were very warm and comfortable, despite the cold weather, and we appreciated the welcoming touches from Catherine such as hot water bottles in the beds and a vase of beautiful spring flowers. We liked the peace of the rural location but found it very convenient for visiting a number of places in the area. The canal is close by, making a pleasant walk into Gargrave or in the opposite direction across open fields. We took the local train and a steam train to Haworth, and enjoyed walking around Malham Cove. We needed the car when we went out for a couple of evening meals at local pubs, but they were just a few minutes' drive away. Catherine was an attentive, friendly host but she was careful not to intrude. We would definitely recommend The Nook for a relaxing break in the Yorkshire countryside. Thank you for a lovely stay.
