4 Castle View

We had a really great week at 4 Castle View in Barnoldswick in Lancashire.

Very reasonable price for the lovely cottage. George ( the owner) was very welcoming and gave us many helpful tips although everything we needed was provided in folders too. It was a great location for sightseeing and we visited many lovely places in the area. The cottage itself was very clean, warm and had everything we needed for a most enjoyable holiday. The bed was so comfortable and it was furnished very tastefully. Our dog loved the walks. There is a park that is just a little way up the road which we walked to on the first day but we drove there every morning and met up with the very friendly local dog walker chaps who loved to chat and tell us places to visit. We had a really great week. The weather was so lovely too so that was the icing on the cake. We will definitely plan another stay in the future. We cannot recommend it highly enough. The neighbours Sandra and Dave were lovely too.

What a beautiful little cottage, a real hidden gem.

We were met by the owner and he talked us through everything, he gave recommendations for restaurants and pubs and told us where to go. There were hand drawn maps to follow for walks. Nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation had everything we needed, it was just the right size and was spotlessly clean. Everything had been thought of and the little touches of matching decor made the cottage very special. I could live there.

Great little break before Christmas.

Met by the owner George at about 9:00pm who's hoped us round and gave us a few tips on where to visit, Ilkley is week worth a day. Also really appreciated the welcome pack mill, biscuits, bottle of wine and a fresh Victoria sponge.

Comfortable house which is well equipped and has very efficient bathroom/wet room with underfloor heating.

Street parking is generally available on Manchester Road. Barnoldswick is a good centre for touring surrounding countryside areas, towns and villages.

Always a pleasure to stay at castle view.

We had an amazing stay at this lovely cottage.

The bed was amazing, the living room cosy and all recommendations from George were wonderfull. It was kid friendly and kitchen was well sorted. There were some one off leakages but George made sure it caused minimum inconvenience. Highly recommended!

The property, owners and neighbours were first class and could not be faulted and I would not hesitate to recommend this cottage.

The reason I would not recommend the Sykes Company is because despite sending five e mails for some help with a matter before the holiday I did not receive a reply, a similar result occurred with the Sykes chatline. When we could speak to a human things were excellent. If anyone bothers to read this I would appreciate a phone call.!

The cottage was great every thing you need ,the Neighbours very frinndly,George was welcoming and helpfull ,very comfortable all round,would visit again .

Castle View is a wonderful holiday cottage,spotlessly clean, everything has been thought of to make your stay perfect,the very nice owners have got very good taste with no expense spared ,the treats provided were gratefully received, we were lucky enough to have sunny warm weather so we enjoyed the sun trap little patio with our pooch .

The property was excellent and we are seriously considering returning for a longer break in the near future.

The only thing I would mention was that I had to sleep in the single bed one night and the mattress sagged in the middle after a time and wasn’t as comfortable as it could have been.

I particularly enjoyed relaxing and reading in the"snug". George, the owner, is very accommodating and knowledgeable of the area. The local people are really friendly and more than obliging whenever I needed directions. Would stay again.

Perfect location for exploring yorkshire and Lancashire. George the owner is friendly and full of information of the area and was very welcoming. Barnoldswick is one of the friendliest places I have been too,everyone speaks to you. Would definitely recommend staying at 4 Castle View it is furnished and decorated beautifully and so comfortable 5 *accommodation.

Very comfy cottage.

Parking not a big issue but parking on quite a busy road might be an issue for some people. The dog pub is almost next door and has bands on at the weekend. Town centre only a 10 minute stroll so great location.

We had an accident on the way there and he organised a local garage for me on a Sunday. The main bed is very comfortable and the shower was very powerful. Located near the Greyhound Pub which does food and a quiz night. Short distance to the town square. Would definitely recommend and hopefully revisit in the future.

The cottage was beautifully decorated , was spotless and is perfectly located for walking into town. One tiny little niggle, would have liked a bath sheet instead of a bath towel, which was small.

Firstly Barnoldswick is not in the Yorkshire dales, it is in Lancashire.

Although near the Dales it is much nearer the beautiful countryside of Pendle parish. Accuracy of description is not Sykes strong point! Secondly my grade 7 refers to Sykes business practise (and not the cottage) as that is the question asked. Weavers View is one of the nicest cottages I have stayed in and I would happily give it a 4.5 to 5 star rating. Beautifully presented, warm and clean. The owner George was very welcoming and helpful during my stay and the many festive touches added to my Christmas experience. Ideally the little outside area would have a better outlook but not having a pretty view would in no way prevent me going again quite happily. A big thank you to George and Anne.

We had a fabulous week at 4 Castle view, the cottage was spotless clean, cosy, warm and very comfortable, beautifully decorated.

It’s in an ideal spot near the town and for visiting other places. They is a lovely park 5 minutes up the road perfect for walking the dog.

George met us at the property to welcome us.

The property was lovely, bed was very comfortable and the local pub really friendly. Lovely location would recommend.

A really well cared for property and well equipped kitchen. The area is great for walking and cycling. We will be returning again in the future.

We were met by George, who is a warm and welcoming host. He was a mine of information of local places to eat, drink and enjoy your stay. The cottage was spotlessly clean, well appointed and very well equipped. Super comfortable bed too. The weather wasn't the best during our stay, but that didn't prevent us from making the most of it and thoroughly enjoying our stay

Fabulous cottage, so well kitted out.

Could not fault anything. Really enjoyed our stay, George very helpful and was lovely to find milk and WINE in the fridge!!! Nice touch with biccys as well. Thank you.

Excellent cottage with great location.

Great walks from the door step and close to other great places to visit. Local pubs and places to eat. Great place for fish and chips! Nothing was to much trouble for our hosts. Would highly recommend.

What a lovely cottage!

We really enjoyed staying here and returning to Barnoldswick- which is a great place. The cottage was equipped with everything you would need with a high attention to detail. The shower was fab and the bed was very comfortable! The owners were really friendly and it was great to meet them- thank you George & Anne!

Lovely quaint cottage with excellent decor, fittings and equipment.

We found Barnoldswick to be a very clean and friendly town with lots of local walks and attractions. We particularly enjoyed the canal walks, the Bancroft Steam Engine and Letcliffe Country Park. Ample information supplied by the owner together with some welcome treats.

We had a great week at 4 Castle View.

We were able to walk directly from the cottage, and the local "park" soon became our dog's early morning favourite! George organised for Julie to pop in to greet us, but he also came by to make suggestions for further trips out. His hand drawn maps helped enormously. Being lucky with good weather was the cherry on top! Thanks to all.

Beautiful cottage in a quiet area of the town.

The cottage was spotlessly clean and extremely well equipped with good on street parking. George and the neighbours were all really friendly and happy to tell us about different walks and dog friendly places. The welcome gifts were a lovely surprise. It’s definitely a place I would return to and also recommend to others.

The cottage stay was a great weekend stay for me, my Mrs and my baby daughter.

I can confess I did miss walking passed the front side of the cottage when we arrived as I was going off the front house pic on the website but it does look different. It had all the necessities you could need with a perfect sized walk in shower room. The Main bed room had a lovely King size bed that made our 3 nights such a comfortable lovely sleep. Our host- George was so nice as he introduced himself on the first morning with lovely advice and tips which we took advantage of. All on all, I would therefore stay here again! Thank you.

The cottage was lovely and the décor was very well done.

We had everything we needed and then some and the chilled bottle of wine was most welcome after a very long journey. It was a lovely cottage to retire to after many long, beautiful scenic walks.

the down stairs snug was decorated lovely but there was a musty smell , which wasn’t pleasant. It could do with a tv and get rid of smell then the cottage would be perfect.

It’s presentation and location exceeded our expectations. The owners gave us such a warm welcome on our arrival and made us feel at home. Our dog Cooper was welcomed too. There were handy walks for the dog on the doorstep and local neighbours were extremely friendly and welcoming. The town is a few minutes walk away or plenty of parking if you choose to drive. The canal walks are close by and the location is very accessible for the local places of interest and the Dales. The cottage is well appointed with sumptuously comfortable beds, extremely clean and well furnished. Overall we had a lovely break and would definitely stay again.

Ideally located for walks in the immediate vicinity or to venture further afield but still on the doorstep.

The cottage was immaculate, the owners very accommodating, and the neighbours exceptionally friendly. Good facilities in the town centre (five minute walk).

George, the owner, was extremely pleasant and helpful and the treats were very much appreciated.

The kitchen was well equipped, which is always helpful when self catering :-) Very good WiFi signal - essential nowadays. Very enjoyable overall.

Barnoldswick is proud to be quiet and quant (a little lost in time) but oozes charm. It is the perfect place to stay, relax and explore the surrounding countryside . The cottage is beautiful and has everything for your comfort We enjoyed the walks along the canal.

Unfortunately we were only there three days as we suffered a bereavement in the family and returned home. The town of Barnoldswick has a nice village square and coffee shops etc. The owners of the cottage were very helpful and friendly as were the neighbours in the street. You are near to many places and towns so there is plenty to see and do

Ideal location for lovely walks and getting out and about.

It was one of the best properties we have stayed at.

It was only renovated last year and it was done with thought for the guests. The owner met us when we arrived and even helped us with our luggage. There was milk ,wine and biscuits for us which was very much appreciated. Hope to return.

Weaver's Cottage is a delightful and extremely clean property which exceeded our expectations.

It is an excellent base for seeing the beautiful countryside this area has to offer.

He rang before we arrived and gave me some suggestions of things to do in the local area. The cottage is beautiful and was very clean. Barnoldswick is a nice town with easy access to lots of good walks.

This property is one of the best we have stayed in, and that is saying something!

I can't describe it any better than the photos do, it is exactly as you see it. The whole place is very clean and extremely tastefully done. The kitchen is so well equipped that you have everything you could possibly need. There was a welcome pack from George and Anne which was an absolute treat. The bed is way too comfy and I didn't want to get up on the morning. Bathroom is perfect and the shower pure bliss! Location great as just on the edge of Barnoldswick and loads of shops, pubs etc. Fantastic location for cycling or walking, the canal path is lovely and flat. George and Anne looked after us so well and are just a minute away if you need anything. I feel like I haven't explained how fabulous this property is enough so I'm saying it again. It is fabulous.

The cottage is situated in a beautiful Northam town which offers great amenities for eating and drinking within easy walking distance, as well being situated to some excellent walks.

There are excellent towns within easy driving distance for those who enjoy to shop along with other numerous visitor attractions, there is something for every one. As for the cottage, "Wow" Beautifully designed, tastefully furnished; a home from home and the owners are delightful. Thoroughly recommend.

Delightful, cosy and comfortable.

Beautifully decorated and furnished and spotlessly clean. The owner George lives close by was really helpful offering lots of local knowledge and recommendations. The neighbours were very friendly and welcoming also. A perfect base from which to explore the beautiful area.

The holiday was booked back in January before Covid.

I was absolutely delighted to learn that it could still take place and I have to say that it is difficult to find words in which to express my appreciation of the work that Anne and George put into making our holiday so absolutely wonderful and safe. The cottage more than met my expectations, and the homely touches were lovely. The welcome pack was more than appreciated after a 6 hour drive. The cottage was comfortable, very well furnished and cosy. The little patio garden was a lovely place to sit especially after a long walk with my six month old puppy (who loved meeting the neighbours!). George and Anne were so helpful and gave us a lot information about walks in the area, where to shop and places to visit and George had even done some hand drawn maps for us to use. Thank you for a lovely week.

Shops 5 minutes away lots of tea rooms and interesting shops . Owners of the cottage were very helpful as where the neighbours . Would definitely recommend .

4 Castle View is a lovely cottage, close to picture perfect villages in the Ribble Valley and West Yorkshire.

The cottage was well equipped with quality fittings, very comfortable bed and great rain shower. The garden / patio area is small with table and chairs and faces west so good to sit out with a drink in the evening sun after exploring the surrounding areas. Owners were very helpful and left biscuits and wine as a welcome pack.

Our cottage was lovely very modern and had everything we needed.

The garden was very small and our dog kept jumping the fence which became a game to him so he wasn’t allowed out off the lead into the garden. The shower was amazing and beds so comfy. The down stairs room wasn’t use as due to the cottage sitting was slight damp In a cupboard which the owner apologised for and was sorting it but the smell was a bit much so we didn’t go down there.

Barlick is a charming small town with a very good selection of shops, lots of walks and friendly people. Albert Road Fish & Chips are not to be missed!

We had a wonderful stay at George & Anne’s beautiful cottage, everything we needed was thought of.

They even got us some vegan chocolate & wine as a welcome gift. The area is the perfect place to explore from, and the people in the area gave us lots of recommendations. Definitely worth a visit to the pub just a stone throws away, where you’ll be welcomed like it’s your own local. It was one of the best weekends we’ve had and we will be back to do the 3 peak challenge! Thank you both!
