Grange Cottage

The property and location were excellent so peaceful with the chance to experience some lovely country walks ,its also a good base to tour round some of the wonderful villages and towns in the dales .

we would recommend this cottage to any body looking to recharge their batteries in the hectic world we find ourselves.

A brilliant cottage in an outstanding area.

The cottage was immaculately clean, very comfortable and had everything we needed. The kitchen was extremely well equipped and above what we have experienced on other cottage stays which made cooking and serving meals for ourselves and two children very easy. Beautiful views from all windows and the children enjoyed playing in the small garden. Grange cottage is ideally situated for walks and visits to many places of interest.

The setting of this property was incredible-better than we could’ve hoped for.

The Cottage was the perfect size, with all the basic things we needed. The hosts were helpful when we encountered them. The location was stunning with footpaths almost from the door And excellent local pubs. Tiny points included the double mattress being not terribly comfortable, and there not being a blind in the twin room on one of the windows.

Great cottage with amazing views, we were staring out of the window all the time, so beautiful.

Perfect location for walking. Owner was very welcoming, so friendly and helpful. We did not want to leave. Visit The George pub just a short stroll away, friendly owners, great beers, wine and food, Monday pie night is excellent and the standard of food overall is exceptional (try the lasagne it's delicious)

The views from the cottage are stunning and there are many walks and interesting places to visit in the area for all ages. . The cottage is extremely well presented, immaculately clean and has everything anyone could need for a perfect holiday.

It was very well equipped and spotlessly clean and very homely. The surroundings beautiful and peaceful. Sarah and Mark, the owners were very pleasant and helpful. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Grange cottage.

So peaceful and we had a very relaxing time here. The cottage is well equipped with everything needed and good parking. A little garden to sit out in and patio furniture if the weather is fair. Good location with lots to do nearby and walks from the door . Will definately be staying again

This is our second visit to Grange Cottage and I am sure that there will be a third, which says it all really.

The cottage suits us very well. There is enough space for 4 adults to move around easily, the kitchen has everything you need, the lounge is very comfortable. We love the location, its beautiful, a number of great walks from the front door and a fabulous pub, The George, is a short walk away.

The cottage had everything we needed. With lovely, peaceful surroundings we settled in immediately. Enjoyed a walk to the waterfalls and visited the quaint little church in Hubberhome which was open. We would like to come back and enjoy the beautiful area in the summer.

The owners were lovely and made us welcome the cottage makes you feel so relaxed that you want to stay for ever.

The cottage is well equipped with everything you need. The local area is lovely and everyone makes you welcome.

We really enjoyed our stay and left wishing it could have been longer.

I think we had all forgotten what real silence was like - especially at night - so restful. The owner and her family were most pleasant and welcoming as indeed was pretty much everyone else we met. As a base for walks, local or further afield it was a great location. The local inn, The George, was just down the lane with great food and a welcoming and witty host. We would definitely consider going back to the Grange. After a couple of days it felt like home and we found it hard to leave.

The cottage is in a great location to explore the Yorkshire Dales National Park and is a great place to relax and get away from it all.

We had a lovely long weekend general self catering, visiting the George Inn a few times a short walk away, this is a fantastic pub but do book as it can get quite busy. We had some lovely walks leaving from the cottage no need to drive anywhere. Thank you for a great break.

Great little holiday cottage in a beautiful location.

It's not fancy, but it doesn't pretend to be. Perfect base for exploring Upper Wharfedale and a stone's throw from a wonderful family run pub - serving great food if you don't fancy cooking. Probably our only small negative would be the showers - upstairs over bath was used by one of us who recommended no one else even bother, and downstairs (spacious cubicle) was also a very low flow so any hair-washing took an age... Not necessarily unusual compared to other similar holiday lets in old buildings - tends to go with the territory, and for us not really a game-changer as we're more about finding something we can walk from and ignore the car for the duration, but sometimes after a long cold day of hillwalking a good blast in a strong hot shower is very much appreciated.

This was our second visit to this cottage, it is situated in superb surroundings with plenty of fine walks straight from the door.

It is only a few minutes walk to 'The George' local pub which offers great food and drinks, booking a table early is essential, especially for Sunday. The cottage is very cosy with no shortage of heat and hot water. The kitchen met all our basic requirements. The only minor downside for us was that the downstairs shower is impossible to stand under due to the angle of the shower head, but is ok for a hand held shower, a different shape shower head would improve matters for little cost.

A comfortable cottage in idyllic surroundings.

Very peaceful and well located for walking and touring the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. Our hostess, Sarah was responsive to all our communications and met us on arrival and came to say farewell before we left, which made us feel very welcome. There was plenty of reading material, DVDs if needed for a wet day. Pubs nearby if you don't want to cook. Highly recommended.

We found Grange Cottage to be clean, warm and cosy and set in a beautiful location, the only negatives were a constant damp smell in the downstairs shower room and the clock/timer on the oven is malfunctioning and needs replacing.

There are many lovely walks you can explore right from the cottage, calling in for lunch in one of the local pubs, in fact we only used the car for one day to go for supplies. The nearest shop in Buckden is very small with a very limited range of stores so if you intend to eat in you would be advised to bring some supplies with you, having said that, the nearest pub is only 5 minutes walk away and offers superb dining and good beer, prior booking is recommended especially at weekends. This was our first visit to the Yorkshire Dales which more than exceeded our expectations, we look forward to returning in the future.

Everything you needed in cottage. Just a shame weather decided to break after such a glorious summer. For anyone with little ones I would certainly recommend a visit to Hesketh Farm Park. Lovely holiday.
