Ribchester 2 miles.

An outstanding, semi-detached, south-facing cottage situated in secluded and unspoilt countryside, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, just two miles from Longridge and Ribchester on the edge of the Forest of Bowland.

From its magnificent country surroundings, enjoying breathtaking views of the valley and the distant fells, to its high-quality fixtures and luxurious interior, this stone-built Ribchester cottage is perfect for a romantic holiday, or a getaway with friends.

Developed to a high specification, offering first-class accommodation, this cottage near Ribchester is spacious and bright, has two super king-size double bedrooms, one of which can be made into a twin, a beautiful, modern bathroom with a freestanding bath and separate shower, and a ground floor wet room.

The master bedroom enjoys a spacious layout, stylish furnishings, a TV, and a Velux window allowing light to fill the room.

The open plan living area exudes real style with beautiful oak flooring, a fully-integrated Sonos sound system, and an inset woodburning stove, all combining to create a wonderful space.

It includes a modern kitchen, dining area, and stylish sitting area, while two sets of French doors leading to the garden further enhance the benefits of this lovely Ribble Valley cottage.

Longridge, described by the Sunday Times as ‘big on character’ and listed in their ‘101 Best Places To Live In Britain’, is also just a mile away.

This intriguing town is full of unique shops to browse, ranging from designer clothing stores to antiques and interiors shops.

Pubs, cafes, restaurants and an independent cinema offer further options for entertainment, or simply pop into one of two supermarkets, to stock up on tasty treats for your picnic, before heading out into the beautiful countryside.

For walkers and cyclists, there is an abundance of lovely footpaths and cycle routes leading right from the doorstep of this Ribchester cottage, whilst the Forest of Bowland, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and Clitheroe Castle and Museum, are all within easy reach.

With excellent road links to the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales, this Ribchester cottage is ideally placed to get away from it all and enjoy country living at its very best.

Lovely quiet location, but the long approach track is extremely pot-holed.

For people who want to self-cater rather than eating out or bringing in takeaways, the fridge is too small and is missing a decent freezer compartment, but the owner indicated that the fridge would be replaced soon. There was no proper grill pan, which necessitated some improvisation. The bedrooms were excellent and the downstairs shower room a joy. We enjoyed our stay during one of the UK's hottest weeks ever.

Beautiful views and a very comfortable cottage - I felt at home the moment I walked though the door of the cottage.

It is spacious and light. The views are amazing, whatever the weather. It is obvious that a lot of care and attention has gone into designing and furnishing the cottage. It is located directly next to the owners' property and this may put some people off. Also, there is a long, rough, farm track to access the property. However, none of these issues put me off, and I will be returning to Cottam Cottage Farm as soon as possible.
