Top House

Beautiful place to stay would happily return again.

Thank you for a lovely weekend

Very well equipped and comfortable house.

Spotlessly clean and nicely decorated. Parking was easy and convenient. We were lucky that the weather was warm enough to make use of the small but not overlooked garden.

We had a lovely stay in Top House which was spotlessly clean with a comfortable bed, very good shower and well equipped kitchen.

The outside courtyard was pleasant to sit out in, albeit a very hot week! Having private parking is a great bonus in Settle, just a five minute walk into the centre and some lovely eating places. Highly recommend The Nettle and Matteos Italian. There are numerous walks straight from the door, but the road is quite steep for anyone less mobile. This was our second stay here and we felt parts of the property need a little attention - the entrance area and stairs walls in particular. Roxy says a special thank you for her doggie treats.

This was our second visit to Top House - so that speaks for itself.

We love this property. Settle is one of our favourite holiday destinations - the scenery, the walks, the town. Top House is perfectly located for all of this. It’s spotlessly clean, very comfortable and has a parking space (a definite bonus). We’ll be back I’m sure.

A lovely property which is furnished and decorated to a high standard.

Everything you could possibly need is provided for your stay and a welcome pack on arrival was a nice surprise. The beds are comfortable, the shower is powerful and the kitchen well equipped. The little garden at the back of the property catches the sun and is a lovely private spot to sit and relax. The property is about a 5 minute walk from the centre and about 8 minutes to the railway station, and there are walks straight from the front door. We arrived by train and used the local buses and train to get around. Shops are plentiful and Settle has a wonderful selection of places to eat out if you don't fancy cooking. The Gallery on the Green and the Victoria Music Hall are worth a visit, we booked tickets in advance and enjoyed a night out at this lovely music venue. To be honest I can't find anything negative to say as the property was just as advertised and suited us as a couple just fine.

We had a lovely stay at Top House and Settle was a perfect base for lots of great walking, using public transport and leaving the car in the much appreciated parking space.

We will be back.

A very nice comfortable house with all the necessary facilities.

Top House is a very warm, comfortable and clean cottage.

The owner is very helpful. It has really comfy beds and settee and we love having a large dining table. Having a dedicated parking space is wonderful as well as having an outdoor sitting area, should the weather permit! The cottage is dog friendly with a stair gate provided. The log burner is excellent. It is only a few minutes walk into Settle or out into the countryside. Top House is really top!

Lovely cottage and good location, ideal for our needs.

Well situated in Settle and very comfortable

Top House was the perfect haven for my 2-week stay.

All the rooms are comfortably furnished, and the housekeeping is exemplary. Elaine and Mike were kind and generous with their time when I inadvertently needed help. Upper Settle is a lovely community: during my stay the serenity and silence was profound and extremely conducive to my writing and painting. Re-discovering Settle's many nooks and crannies; walking and exploring the nearby hills and villages; then, coming back to Top House and its coziness for reflections. It was a perfect holiday.

The cottage is well placed for enjoying the surrounding area.

Easy to walk into Settle and off street parking essential in settle. Clean and comfortable the cottage is well equipped and the owners promptly dealt with an issue with the boiler. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back.

Top house was a beautiful cottage in settle.

The cottage was very comfortable and well equipped and felt like home from home. The welcome pack was a nice touch and I particularly enjoyed the log burner as the evenings turned colder. A short walk to shops, restaurants and the station which was great for the beautiful scenery on the settle to Carlisle line. It is also in a perfect spot for the settle walking loop and other walks in this gorgeous location. I would happily stay here again

Top House cottage was very clean and tidy and we loved being in Settle itself (but with the added benefit of car parking space for when we wanted to explore further afield).

Both bedrooms were warm, cozy and comfortable. The shower was excellent and the kitchen was well appointed, having a dishwasher a definite bonus. The little courtyard garden at the back was very sweet and we enjoyed watching the bats flitting about the garden at night. WiFi and smart TV kept our boys happy when we were in the cottage and we were generally impressed with everything at the cottage, especially the welcome pack and the delicious biscuits! It'd be nice to have a footstool in the lounge, and if you were staying as 4 adults it might be a bit cramped as the downstairs space is small. Worth noting as well if it's not clear from the pictures that the property is almost at the top of a steep hill (Top House is an accurate name!) so bear that in mind if you have mobility issues. Overall we had a great stay in Settle and thanks to the owners for maintaining a very clean and cozy cottage.

Only when weather turned colder the C/H didn’t seem to function

A well equipped cottage, extremely comfortable, with lovely decor, fixtures and fittings.

Loved the beautiful fluffy towels, and the welcome goodies were a nice gesture. Highly recommend Top House.

This was our second visit to Top House, a great location with pubs, cafes, supermarket and walks within easy distance.

The designated car parking space is a great advantage. Cottage is spotless, warm, well stocked with a very comfortable bed!

A really lovely cottage, very well equipped, clean and warm.

The beds were very comfy, the log burning stove was easy to use and we very much appreciated the parking space as well as the sitting out area. It was very convenient for good walks and for the middle of Settle. We look forward to returning.

Property is in great condition.

Ideal location with its own parking (which is a must in Settle !) Plan to go back again later in the year

Loved our stay at Top House.

It was clean and warm when we arrived, with everything we needed. Comfortable beds and a great shower too. The log burner worked well, with no smoke like others that we have used. Very handy having a parking spot, which are at a premium in Settle. Trust we left everything clean and tidy when we left.

We had a fantastic stay at the top house.

The house is brilliantly located for the town centre and for local walks. The house was clean, very well equipped and had everything we needed for a family of 4 and a dog. Would definitely recommend. Thanks

This is our third time we have been to Top house, it's such a lovely house to stay in.

We will be staying again later in the year!

Fabulous house just a few minutes walk from Settle Centre and a great base for fantastic walks.

The welcome pack was much appreciated (especially the Prosecco

Just back from a wonderful stay at Top House which was a more than comfortable base.

It was also great to have our own parking space as well, much needed in Settle. Everything in the cottage was spotless, well maintained and equipped like a home away from home. We also appreciated the treats on arrival, there was even something for Lenny the dog, nice touch. The location is great lots of walking from front door and no more than 5mins walk down to main square in Settle which is a pretty town with all the amenities. All in all a perfect place to stay in Settle, we are definitely going back to that area at some point and will not hesitate to book again. x

We had a very comfortable stay and were grateful for the prompt help from Elaine and Mike when we had a small problem at the beginning of our stay.

We would definitely rebook the cottage ourselves or recommend it to others.A great holiday cottage and we are only sorry we couldn't stay longer!

Fabulous location, having a parking space takes a lot of stress off!

A very comfortable cottage and have already booked again for next year. Super.

The holiday cottage was fabulous, cosy, clean & well equipped.

The 'welcome pack' was very much appreciated such a nice touch. Thank you It's so nice to be able to have a drink when you arrive after travelling.

Like many other reviewers of Top House, we though it was terrific.

It is in an excellent location, very comfortable, spotlessly clean and well equipped. Once you have seen the streets around the house, it makes you really appreciate that the house comes with an off-street parking spot. Settle is a very pretty town with good shops (fresh croissants and rolls from Ye Olde Naked Man Bakery for breakfast every morning!), pubs and restaurants. We were there to explore the area by bicycle and enjoyed many good rides straight from the house.

What a lovely cottage.

Everything we needed. Great comfy beds, well equipped kitchen. Very clean. Ideally situated. Five minute walk to centre. Fantastic having our own car parking space too. Absolutely perfect for us. Also a few lovely treats on our arrival plus a bottle of milk so we put the settle on as soon as we walked in

Just a fabulous place to stay.

Really well maintained and very comfortable. Excellent situation, with the nearest pub just 5 minutes walk. Great place to stay if hiking the 3 Yorkshire peaks.

Wonderful feeling when we walked in that continued throughout our stay.

Close to all amenities, high standard, very homely and the prosecco and dog treats were much appreciated.

Top House is a fantastic , comfortable cottage in a great location.

It is fully equipped, and warm and cosy to come back to after a hard day's walking. The off street parking place in front of the garage is invaluable. A lovely spot

Great property, a real home from home and the off street parking is a real bonus.

In a great location, close enough to the town for a walk in but far enough away for peace & quiet. Settle is a fantastic base for some amazing walks. Not often I say I'd stay at the same place again but on this occasion I definitely would rebook.

This cottage actually exceeded the details given in the listing.

From start to finish there was no fault with any thing in the cottage. It was comfortable, clean and the feeling in the cottage was peaceful and enlightening. Had a wonderful tranquil stay there and sorry to come home. Thank you to the owners for the welcome items, biscuits were quickly devoured by my husband and the Prosecco went down a treat to help celebrate my husband’s 75th Birthday Thank you

Had a great stay at Top House.

Beautiful property, lovely location, and we had snow ⛄️ This was our second time at Top House and we will be returning, thanks

Loved the cottage.

Only grouse was the last fire was still in the grate. Usually a new fire is made up.

Had a lovely stay at Top House, very clean and warm, heating was so easy to use, everything we needed was there, little hill up to the house to keep you fit

Beautiful cottage, lovely and clean and cosy, and with walks from the door.

Ideally situated for shops and pubs. In all honesty it is one of the nicest cottages that we have stayed in over the years and is a credit to the owners! We will be back!!

We loved our holiday in Settle.

“Top House” was spotlessly clean, the furniture was comfortable and there was everything we needed there. The shower (over bath) was lovely, good water pressure and nice and hot. The location of the cottage is perfect too, on the hill above the town, quiet - we slept well - a short stroll to the pubs; and a head start on the upward climb to the Pennine Bridleway. An off road large parking spot was a bonus. The cottage was warm, we had full control of the heating too. The wine (and milk) was appreciated!

Very comfortable indeed.

No need to use the car all week - 10 minutes to shops. Finding the property first time is tricky due to very narrow & misleading streets in that part of Settle. Better to pay £1 in Greenfoot Car Park and walk up. The property and garage are on the RIGHT. Take a torch in Winter.

Lovely cottage, extra touches really made us feel welcome.

Beautiful setting and a delightful little garden. Would definitely stay again.

Really snug, so a lovely little cottage for just two of us.

Might be a squeeze for four, so happy that it was just two of us. Really clean throughout. Well equipped galley kitchen. Nice to have things like washing up liquid, milk, and wash-blocks provided. Would have been better with a more relaxing sofa perhaps, as this one was good as a 'seat' but not really adequate to lie out on. Shame the loo and bathroom aren't separate, but not a problem with one couple at all. Enjoyed the walk up the steep hill to get to the property from the town, as you feel that you are right up in the hills.

This is a lovely cottage, good for two people 4 may find it a little small, if you have a small dog the garden is good but if you have a larger dog there is limited space to run around.

Not a problem for us as we where dog less. Amenities are very good, washing machine, dishwasher oven and hob brilliant. The cottage has been done out beautifully and is very comfortable. The Cottage is short walk from town and amenities, you can sit and have a coffee whilst watch the world go past. The owners where lovely, we have a small problem with the hot water which was sorted out swiftly. Would recommend this cottage to anyone and give it a 10 out of 10 for our stay. We hope to return soon.

Great place to stay, cottage absolutely perfect.

Settle is a beautiful place to visit, great holiday.

Our stay in Settle was very enjoyable as the cottage was in a great location.

It was an easy walk to all the amenities and there was lots to do without traveling further afield. It was comfortable and had most things that we needed.A couple of tea towels instead of just one would be a good addition. The enclosed garden was perfect for our dog and great for catch the sun.All in all a great experience.

Lovely cottage as described and a pleasant stay in settle.

Ideally located close to the market place with all it's amenities. Will definitely stay again and will recommend. Thanking you

An immaculate house, lovely decor and furnishings.

Very well equipped. The beds were extremely comfortable. We loved our stay here. The only negative feedback, which why I gave a lower score for 'comfort' was the settee which was too small, both in width and depth. It was difficult to get cosy on it. The room could take a larger settee too.

The property was refreshingly clean and bright.

Lovely spot in beautiful settle. Beds were so comfy we slept so well. Kitchen had everything needed, I cooked a Sunday roast and wasn’t short for anything. My only very small comment which does not mean fits for all was the settee was too small and not comfy for the 2 of us to stretch out on. If 4 people stayed in the house I felt the comfy of chairs were missing for those cosy evenings in. Lastly the garden… unfortunately my dog wouldn’t pee or poo in it as there was no grass at all. Most dogs need a patch. Very small comments for feedback. Besides that our week was perfect. Thanks for the added touches of Prosecco

Lovely cosy cottage we really enjoyed our stay and we will definiately return!

Really appreciate the welcome pack thank you so much!

The cottage is beautiful, clean, bright and airy, in a fantastic position overlooking the hills.

A perfect base for us to do some great walks from the doorstep, then call in to the nearby pubs on the way back. The kitchen is clean and well equipped, and the bathroom is also immaculate, with a nice big bath and shower. The bedroom is very comfortable, and there is plenty of wardrobe space with hangers provided. We enjoyed counting the sheep dotted around the rooms! We would have liked a larger, softer sofa to stretch out on together in front of the log burner. Also, a slightly later check out time would have meant a less rushed end to the stay. We obviously wanted to make the most of our time away so didn’t want to spend our last night tidying and packing up, but it meant that breakfast on the last morning wasn’t very relaxed or leisurely. Those were our only gripes and overall we had a lovely visit and would definitely go back.

A superb cottage in a great quiet position and close to all local amenities.

The welcome treats and logs for the wood burner were very much appreciated. However, there were 4 adults staying for a week and we only were supplied with 2 Bath towels and 2 toilet rolls which I thought was very poor, certainly when compared to all the other cottages we have stayed in. Maybe it was an oversight by the cleaners?

Lovely modern, fresh and comfortable house.

In a great spot within a short walk of Settle. So much to see in the surrounding areas, would like to return to see more.

Really nice cottage in a great location.

Lovely few days in the Dales with our two boys and our dog. Well equipped cottage that has everything you need. Exceeded expectations.

We have stayed in a lot of your cottages and in comparison this one was of a very high standard in terms of cleanliness and facilities.

The back yard was a bit smaller than we expected but sufficient for our dog to get some fresh air in an enclosed area. A bit of pruning of the bushes would be beneficial but is only a minor comment. We would definitely book it again and recommend it to others.

Lovely cosy well-equipped cottage, the wine, dog treats and fres h flowers were a lovely touch.

Absolutely brilliant cottage in an absolutely brilliant location.

Every little thing was thought of including treats for the dog. Loved Top House and loved Settle, we will definitely be back.

A lovely holiday, spotlessly clean and comfortable cottage, very well equipped.

Good to have off-road parking. It was brilliant being able to leave the car and walk from the door into the surrounding countryside. Loved the market town of Settle.

We had a lovely week.

The house was lovely; clean, well equipped with everything we needed for a really comfortable stay. It is in a great position to explore the area with walks possible from the house and a world of possibilities within a short drive. I would definitely recommend "Top House" for a lovely holiday.
