  • "Clares cottage is very comfortable and clean."

The owner was friendly and helpful. It Is situated in a nice part of Lincolnshire not too far from the coast. Quite near Louth which is a lovely old market town with good eating places. Would recommend.

Glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again in the future, Property Owner

  • "The cottage was lovely and very peaceful."

Had a lovely break and so did the dogs didn't have to worry about them in the garden as enclosed. One thing to mention is that your dvd player won't work with the telly due to having old leads that are no longer compatible but we used the free view box anyway. Just a couple of suggestions you may want to get a new Frying pan as it doesn't stay still on the hob when turning food over and spins round! And maybe a whisk for gravy and some Tongs for picking up food would be a good idea but just a suggestion as your home was otherwise lovely and stocked. Did have difficulty with opening some of the windows that seem to be wedged shut may need some tlc. And thank you for the biscuits! Thank you for having us we've come away recharged. Perfect.

The frying pan has been replaced I think you may have been using the WOK rather than the frying pan, however, I will check that out. There WAS a whisk and Tongs, but obviously things disappear sometimes. Sorry about the windows, they had just been re varnished. Property Owner

  • "Lovely holiday cottage, clean, plenty of space overall and everything we needed in the kitchen etc."

1 parking space off road with the other holiday cottage having one car there too. WiFi was iffy in the living room, OK everywhere else inside for general use but definitely no good for streaming. DVD player doesn't connect to that TV because there wasn't the correct cable attachment to do so, weirdly. Owners (live on site) very helpful in allowing me to borrow some scales for weighing our dogs food as I forgot to bring them with me. Dog owners should be aware - While it allows dogs, there were "rules for dogs" we found on arrival - including not being allowed upstairs (where the only bedroom is) not on furniture and no using the garden to toilet. No mention on the listing before booking. The garden also has a low piece of picket fencing between this property and the other holiday property. Could be a problem if there is a dog in each property of course (luckily no problem for us) as they would be able to get to each other.

We now have STARLINK WIFI with fabulous speeds able to cope with Video streaming. Also bought the correct cable to replace the missing one on the DVD player. Sorry you didn't like the dog rules, but we do expect the garden to be kept free of dog faeces. Property Owner

Access to area is easy (by car) from this location. Only marked the facilities down because the WiFi is poor

Sorry about the Wifi, but it is very fast at times. Our problem is with BT who think we are too rural to lay any new cables, therefore , we have to use Mobile. Obviously, no good for Netflix, but good enough for everything else. WE NOW HAVE STARLINK WIFI superfast and never fails Property Owner

The whole experience was great from start to finish. Would highly recommend this holiday cottage to anyone. The owners are lovely kind and caring people, we have 3 dogs and was all made welcome. The small garden was totally enclosed and safe. There was everything there that we could want to make our holiday both comfortable and happy. My sincere thanks to the owners of Clare's cottage for trusting us with thier lovely cottage. Patricia Hill

  • "Fab cottage, very comfortable and large for 2 adults and a (big) doggo."

Everything we needed was provided. I personally found the cottage very warm, I tried turning the thermostat down and most of the radiators off, but still found it warm. The double duvet was really thick too so I was hot at night, even with the bedroom window and skylight open. The wifi was intermittent and the download speed to watch Netflix etc was really slow or non existent. The owner was friendly and helpful. The area was beautiful, lots of traditional English towns and villages and amazing local produce. Several nearby RSPB and nature reserves and an abundance of bird life locally. Would highly recommend.

We like to hear that guests are warm enough, especially as it's still April. We change our duvets from winter ones to summer ones in May and it seems as if the time is right. Also, our Wifi is not superfast, as is explained on the website, but is quite satisfactory for emails, facebook, google search etc. Some people have even used it 'working from home' to PNG Papa New Guinea, but not many people come on holiday to watch Netflx and it just isn't possible. We would love to be able to get Superfast broadband via BT/Openreach, however, there is no suitable fibre cable here and possibly never will be, part of the beauty of the area. HOWEVER, WE NOW HAVE STARLINK WIFI superfast and never fails. Property Owner

.. we stayed 26th to 31st December. Nice walks along the Louth Canal with our 3 dogs seen lots of Deer and Teals also Hares, Swans. Travelled to Mablethorpe and Cleethorpes easy access both ways for fish and chips of course :-) There is a good Chinese in the next village highly recommended they deliver to the cottages too. (South Somercotes) shop and chip shop and a pub. The surrounding areas are very dark at night torches was supplied even though we did bring our own. Sandra the host was very pleasant and contacted us a few times during our stay .... thank you for the arrival gifts. would like to visit again in the summer

Thank you for your nice review. It's so good to hear about the wildlife and of course, the Fish n Chips etc. Property Owner

  • "Very spacious and clean cottage."

As someone has said about the cottage next door, feeling a little tired, and could do with a refresh especially with the furniture. Although the kitchen had lots of equipment had lots of equipment again things need looking at, eg pans without lids. Bed very comfy.

We pride ourselves on having lots of equipment in the kitchen and I'm sorry you couldn't find the pan lids, on further investigation it appears that someone prior to you had actually put all the lids in the dresser cupboard. Guests tend to move things around and as we only have a limited amount of time to prepare for the next guests, we sometimes overlook things. Apologies. Property Owner

  • "Wasnt clean."

For example the kitchen cupboard shelves were dirty, mugs were stained, cutlery draw was dirty etc. Got the impression that initially it had been fitted out very well but has been allowed to get tatty and dirty over time. The fitted bed sheet must have been quite old as it was bobbly, and we could easily see thick dust under the bed. Disappointed.

hank you for your review and we are sorry you found reason to complain. We have dealt with the items of concern and we are pleased you were happy with the rest of the property Property Owner
