"The owners Steven and Jill were welcoming and always ready to help."
The cottage was really cozy and warm. The views were lovely and we really enjoyed seeing the donkeys and the hens greeted us every morning. It was a good spot for visiting either the coast or west to Lincoln. We visited Gunby Hall, a National Trust property, which was on our doorstep and would recommend it.

"We liked the cottage very much, the owners were very nice & there when we needed them, broken microwave replaced immediately."
If you have mobility issues, the lounge seating is low, also there's no light switch for the corridor between the lounge & the kitchen until you get to the kitchen, rather dark. As previously stated, the area around the cottage is not secure for dogs. But we would definitely recommend & return.

"The cottage is lovely and comfortable and so relaxing and the owners very welcoming and friendly."
Would recommend it for anyone just needing a break away from everything. The only thing we would say is that as a dog owner it would be nice just to have a proper fenced off area at the back that a dog can't get out of , especially when the hens and chickens are about.

"Property does not have a secure enclosed garden."
Dog could not have free use of garden and chickens ran free. We had a fantastic stay but dog was afraid of chickens and had to be attached to a washing line to go out on back garden. Both Steve and Tracey were very friendly, excellent hosts and there to help if needed. Real dog lovers. Oscar their dog, was always there to greet us when we returned each day.

"Steve & Jill, our hosts, were very welcoming, friendly and kind."
Nothing was too much trouble for them. Ratty’s is a lovely bungalow style property. Rooms are very well equipped, spacious and airy. The grounds of the property are very tranquil with a variety of trees, plants and shrubs. The fishing lake is very well stocked and the fish we caught are in excellent condition. Ratty’s retreat is a little gem set in very beautiful surroundings. Loved it so much we’ve booked for a return trip next year.

We really enjoyed our stay and the beautiful surroundings. Very dog friendly.

"This was a quick last minute booking as we had just received bad news about my partners health and we needed time on our own to absorb it."
.. what a lovely place especially the walk around the wee lake and seeing the donkeys! The owners are sooooo lovely, kind and caring, could not have asked for better! Just wished we would have been able to stay longer!

"A magical week for my pup and I, felt right at home, safe and the hosts are so lovely and attentive."
The chickens and donkeys are great and walks around the lake on doorstep. Would definitely recommend to others and would stay again.
