  • ""Had a great relaxing stay, everything you need is there."

" This is our third time to the Lodges and second stay in Oak Lodge. Very comfortable beds, lovely clean crisp bedding, super large soft towels and robes. Lovely furnishings throughout, the only complaints we have are "shame about the sofas", they are just sooo uncomfortable as they are pull out sofa beds not proper sofa's!!!! There is no blind or window covering at the kitchen sink which is required at night time. The hot tub has been changed in the last 6 months, it's not as large as the last one, really only max 4 people can fit in this together, it's ok. A beautiful and quiet location with only a short walk through the woods into the village and to the Plough Pub!! We loved the use of the on-site swimming pool and cafe too. We have already booked our next stay. Many Thanks

  • "This was my four year in a row of staying here."

Just love this place and works out so well. 2 hr drive from London. Quiet and secure compound but lovely country walking areas. 15 mins from Rutland Water where all the activities are. It works well for me and mu family plus extended family when we just wanna have a big family get together (and end up taking the two large log cabins as we've done last two years)

! Had a lovely week away with my family with Hot tub. Can’t fault the property and appreciated the wine and chocolate on arrival. Enjoyed the stars because no light pollution. Very peaceful!

  • "The lodge is set in a great location behind the electric gates so felt very safe and secure."

The beds were very comfortable and all the lining and towels were immaculate. Unfortunately the place needs some attention!!!! The hot tub was shocking in my opinion as a hot tub owner. The cover was rotten and water logged. Being so heavy both cover brackets had broken and needed 2 people to lift the cover off. The water had not been changed for a while and was very cloudy and smelt. The freezer door had not been shut properly for days so it was completely iced up and unusable. broken blinds in the kitchen and every joint on the guttering outside dripped after 15 mins of rain for days. We booked the communal swimming pool on site for half hour which was about 5 foot deep all over. The water was so cloudy we could not see the bottom so decided not to risk any infections and didnt go in. Lots of good points but not good value for mone

Note that the village shop has now closed. The Plough pub is great though, as is the on-site Kitchen.

The hot tub was perfect size for the 6 of us and we had a great time ! Only downside I would say are the sofas aren’t that comfortable as they are sofa beds so the cushions slide forwards whilst sitting on them!

Slightly awkward to find, but as a consequence is safe and quiet. Large secluded garden with hot tub and front has plenty of parking for cars. Excellent place for visiting Rutland. On the list for a return visit.

  • "My only two points of feedback are - it was tough to operate the heating system."

We didn't expect 1st week of Aug 2023 to be so wet and rainy, so needed to get them on and could only manage the hallway. We didn't report it and managed it in the end. - The en-sutie WC toilet seat was the wrong one fitted. A D-shape seat was fitted on to a round WC pan. Wasn't ideal but again, wasn't the end of the world and we managed.

The lodge was extremely well equipped, nice and warm in the chilly weather, as well as being comfortable and homely The hot tub was brilliant even though a ‘bit cosy’ for 6 adults. The on-site Rutland Kitchen was very well received with a very good menu and reasonably priced. All in all we had a most enjoyable stay and would not hesitate to book again or recommend to friends.

  • "We had an excellent, chilled and relaxing week at Oak Lodge."

We were greeted warmly on arrival and escorted to our property by a friendly and informative staff member. On entering the property it definitely had the wow factor with a lovely hamper of goodies i.e Prosecco, chocs, eggs, tea & coffee. A very spacious lodge with comfy beds and luxury bed linen. We even had bath robes which came in handy for when exiting the gorgeous spa, which was situated on the private terrace/garden. We made use of our private half hour session at the on-site indoor pool, which was wonderful! We also had Sunday lunch at the on site which was really tasty. The weather wasn’t great but did not hinder our lovely chilled time here and will most certainly return.

Few issues we had (which I’m sure can be rectified) underfloor heating had a mind of its own, was on through the night and off during the day. Lodge needs a clothing rack to dry clothes. Information booklet needed with details of wifi password, where to throw bin and any other information. The glass on the tables need to be glued down or removed as my daughter who was playing with her toys on the table with the glass constantly moving, the worry of it falling or her falling on the corner constantly had me worried. Also, the leaking guttering was a nightmare, was leaking throughout the stay. Breakfast bar stools needed for breakfast area. The lodge itself is perfect for a family with ample space inside and outside. The lodge had a sense of calmness and would recommend to any other family.

We was only the 2nd people to stay in it and it was perfect, quality was certainly not skimped on, everything was top notch, fantastic hot tub, couldn't fault a thing other than a couple of items that were listed in sykes were not there, dvd player and radio, also a couple of breakfast stools that the one next to us had but we didn't, reported a couple of times and said was ordered but still did not arrive in the time we was there But other than that highly recommend, especially for a summer holiday as hugh garden area with all you could want

The lodges are in a gated complex so very secure. There’s a lovely walk into Greetham from the site which has two pubs, we only visited the Plough again which we’d recommend, the food is excellent and good value and there is a good selection of beers. The owner and the staff are always on hand if any problems occur. All in all an excellent find.
