  • "Cosy little place could do with a deep clean outside and in a few areas inside too for cobwebs etc but in general the place is nice."

The stairs are extremely steep and not suited to elderly people or very young. Bathroom is very very small and I’d compare the shower with one you get in a caravan, which was a bit of a let down if I’m honest.

Thank you for your feedback. The property is a Grade ll listed cottage 0ver 200 years old, the size was built a lot smaller then. Sykes have stated that the stairs are quite steep and is mentioned in the listing. Again the bathroom is compact but holds a standard size shower cubicle 800 x 800, with separate toilet and wash basin, regarding the shower power I will check on this as it is the very first complaint we have had regarding this . It really is a small quaint cottage and I think the pictures that Sykes photographer took show this. It probably wasn't the right property for you. Sorry about that. All the best Debbie & Chris. • "Had a lovely stay, very quiet setting just what we wanted but not far from Mablethorpe for lovely walks along the beach with the dogs."

We were arrived late evening, and grateful to find a wonderful welcome pack containing tea, milk, cake, biscuits (g/f), bread, butter, jam and crumpets and Prosecco. A stair gate we requested had already been set up for us, the stairs to up stairs are quite steep but you would expect this as it’s a very old beautiful property, the outside seating area is fantastic with the hot tub being icing on the cake for our relaxing stay. Highly recommend 5* relaxing stay.

Thank you for your positive feedback and so happy that you had a lovely relaxing stay. Hope you come back again soon. Best regards Debbie&Chris. Property Owner

  • "The cottage is really sweet and the hot tub and gardens were a perfect addition."

The welcome basket of supplies was a lovely touch too. The second bedroom with the bunk beds is very small and while that didn’t hinder us it is perhaps worth mentioning how small the room is on the listing. It would also be nice if you could put a mirror up as the only one we found was the one in the bathroom. A few more plates and bowls would also be good so you don’t need to run the dishwasher as often. Finally in other places we’ve stayed you often find a few cupboard items (cooking oil, salt and pepper etc) which is helpful for those staying. Just a suggestion.

Thank you for your feedback and glad that you found the cottage sweet with perfect gardens. The cottage second bedroom is small but we find guest are happy with no complaints, being a 250yr old cottage they were built smaller than today, but we feel the pictures are accurate . The kingsize bedroom has a dressing table mirror fitted at the top of the tall set of draws as can be seen in the bedroom pics, the hinged top just needed lifting up, but can be easily missed so we will make sure we make a note for other guests. We certainly will take on board your recommendations and add extra plates and bowls. We supply a black salt/pepper set and vinegar which are at the side of the kettle, they are filled fresh before every booking and again can be seen in the pics . We appreciate guests comments which helps us to correct things that we may overlook. Thank you. All the best Debbie&Chris. Property Owner

  • "Just finishing a lovely 3 night stay at Butterfly Cottage."

The booking and access was easy, postcode took us directly there. Plenty of parking. The cottage and house itself is beautiful outside. Inside the cottage is great, probably one of the best dog friendly places we have stayed in, it’s clean and clutter free so you don’t have to worry about the dogs getting things or knocking into things, garden was secured and spacious for them. Had a really cosy homely feel. The kitchen had all the utensils needed if not more and the welcome Hamper was a lovely addition. Beds are spacious and comfortable with spare pillows and blankets for comfort. The stairs were steep but manageable you just had to take your time. Hot tub was very relaxing and conveniently covered which kept out the cold / wind. Only a short drive down one road into mablethorpe and a lot of nice little farm cafes and plant shops as you drive through to mablethorpe. We stayed 3 adults and 2 dogs and there was enough space to keep us all comfy and happy. Would highly recommend and stay again.

Thank you so much for your kind feedback, it really means a lot to us knowing that our guests have enjoyed their stay and were happy with everything. Hope to see you again. Best wishes Debbie&Chris. Property Owner

  • "Lovely cottage, nice welcome pack, very comfortable beds."

Stairs very steep and top steps dangerous. Needs a handrail on the wall. With bedrooms upstairs and toilet downstairs night time trips are fraught. This should at least be mentioned in the description as the photos don’t make it clear until you have to negotiate them. No hand soap, no wine glasses!? Finally the main reason for choosing this particular cottage - we all smelt like cheesy Doritos when we got out of the hot tub. Put us right off.

Thank you for your feedback and we are glad that you found the cottage lovely with comfortable beds, and you were happy with the welcome pack. Regarding the steep stairs, they do have a handrail from top to bottom but I will take on board your concerns and install another handrail on the opposite wall. We will also make sure that future guests are aware of the steepness of the stairs. Regarding the hot-tub, the water can become cloudy and oily and we recommend that guest shower before use if oils/creams or leave in hair moisturisers etc..are used. We do have a hot-tub usage guidance notice hung at the side of the tub. Regarding the lack of wine glasses, we do try to supply an all-rounder glass for all drink types. but we will certainly make sure we include wine glasses also. We would have been more than happy to have given the hot-tub a clean and refresh and bring some hand soap and wine glasses if we had been aware of the issues at the time. We do hope that this hasn't put you off to stay with us again in the near future. Kind regards, Debbie&Chris. Property Owner
