Had an amazing relaxing stay at Bicton Lea the pictures do not do it justice it is a beautiful property in an beautiful location the views are amazing would highly recommend

Lovely location with spectacular views, lovely large garden with horses at one end and we had cows at the other, lots of great local walks, hot tub was a nice touch, would have liked to have more comfy garden furniture but as there was only two of us it was fine.

Biggest issue we had was the huge amount of flies around the house due to being on a farm with animals close by, had to keep doors and windows closed which was a pain given how hot it was while we was there, location is very remote so you will need to ensure you have plenty of supplies.

We loved the cottage and the hot tub.

It really suited 4 adults, 2 teenagers, 2 kids and a dog. The kitchen was very well equipped. The write up accurately described the property and the location was idyllic. Thank you. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend a stay here.

Super cottage for family get together.

House spacious, clean and comfortable. Plenty of space in the garden for grandchildren and adults to enjoy. Hot tub great view and peaceful surroundings. Lots of lovely walks from the door step and no need to use the car. All good thanks.

Beautiful property and even better views.

Perfect garden and we got really lucky with a sunny week. Would highly recommend this property. Had a couple of minor issues the start of the week with a few bits in the house but the owners were on hand and so helpful to quickly resolve. Good to see maintenance on the hot tub daily aswell

We had the most amazing stay ,faultless in every way ,the cottage was well equipped,immaculate ,and the panoramic views were breathtaking .

The grounds were beautiful and spacious two beautiful horses dancing around in the field opposite added a magic touch .we can’t wait to return . Our 3 boys age 11,9,and 7 had the time of there lives ,and keep asking when can they go back to see Andy and Bob ( that’s what they named the horses ) Thanks again for a fabulous stay .

The property was perfect for our mixed age range group.

Very spacious, well equipped, and warm. The views from the house are beautiful and sitting in the hot tub on a clear starry night was a wonderful experience.

We had a really beautiful Xmas at Bicton Lea.

It is not all that far from where we live but has the capacity for our family whichever direction they are coming from and however much time they can take off work.The little ones were awed by the enormous and superbly decorated Xmas Tree in the conservatory which also made a magical grotto. We all had Xmas Eve and Xmas Day altogether except for my daughter's fiancee who is in the Army and was sent on tour in November until February. We hope he will be with us too next year possibly with a new baby if their IVF goes well on his return! The house was so welcoming and homely, wood burning stove laid up ready and all rooms spotlessly clean with fantastic views from every direction. We found lovely walks in the surrounding area and I loved Clun which reminded me somewhat of Ledbury back in the 1970s where my parents had a newsagents shop. An agricultural, laid back, friendly, quirky place, totally unpretentious yet with dramatic castle ruins in a spectacular setting. We used a hot tub many years ago when attending a wedding in Yorkshire, also staying at a farm and we found ourselves surprised how good it made us feel. The daily maintenance of the tub here was very reassuring and everyone enjoyed time in the hot tub except our little ones who are too young at present. We were fortunate to have starry nights and sunny days after initially wind and heavy rain. Bicton Lea felt so homely we were sad when it was time to leave.

Outstanding property - we have been back every year for our annual Christmas holiday for the last 3 years.

To turn up and the fire is lit and burning is just above and beyond and a lovely touch. One downside only would be that there are lots of flies in the bedroom closest to where the cars are parked (small double) but apart from that, it is always an excellent experience and great location.

A really lovely house in a quiet setting with great views.

Bicton Lea is very spacious with lots of rooms making it ideal for a large group of guests. The furniture and fittings are first class.

The house was amazing and the owner very accommodating.

The hot tub was very clean along with the house and there was more than enough of everything needed would 100% recommend a stay in this property

Perfect in every way.

Glorious views, horses in the field next door, fully-equipped house with more than adequate facilities and friendly people. Lovely day trips to local towns and Welsh castles, good pubs and restaurants, peace and quiet. Bring fly spray!

The cottage is beautiful, the ground is beautiful.

The cottage and ground is spacious. Me and my family came here for my sisters birthday, we played rounders, made use of the hot tub and had a bbq which we took with us but didn’t need to as the cottage had one. The cottage beds were really warm and comfy, the log burner was amazing and we were provided loads of logs! There is a small area under the stairs with books, cards and games which my nephew enjoyed. The pictures doesn’t do this property any justice. The owners live local and are at hand if anything is needed. We enjoyed watching the farmer moving the sheep from one field to another. The views this cottage looks out on are so relaxing! We ordered take away but went to collect as most local takeaways shut 10pm ish. Beautiful stay, beautiful cottage!

We just returned from a 3 night stay here on the weekend on a family break, there were 10 of us in total.

We enjoyed our stay so much none of us wanted to go home! The house is beautiful and very well presented and clean throughout, we couldn’t fault the cleanliness of the property, and plenty of towels were provided too which I thought was good, the children aged between 2-12 enjoyed playing in the huge grounds of the property, we closed the gate and allowed them to ride their scooters up and down the drive safely, they also enjoyed going in the hot tub every day. We also found time to play a game of rounders all together on the big lawn. Each bedroom had the most gorgeous view out of the windows and there was nothing better than waking up and having a cup of coffee on the terrace listening to the birds. We really felt comfortable in the property and will definitely return again. Thank you for the lovely memories made in your beautiful home!

The advert completely undersells the property - it is much better in person!

We've had such a comfortable 5 days in Bicton Lea, a gorgeous house in a magnificent setting. The views are incredible. The small touches (hand wash, toilet roll, washing up etc.) are all very welcomed and missed from other cottages we've rented. The cleanliness was fantastic. We all had an amazing and will look to come back in the future!

This was our 2nd stay at Bicton Lea and once again we had the best weekend in a property that housed all of us comfortably- it was our Christmas ‘get together’ as we are unable to spend Christmas together.

We had a super stay as a mixed family group from 8-75.

We loved the hot tub and the wood burner and it was lovely to be able to eat together in the dining room. There was plenty of room for everyone and the separate snug was a real bonus for the teenagers. The area is beautiful and we enjoyed saying good morning to the sheep every day!

Great family accommodation in a beautiful part of the country.

Very clean comfortable house in its own grounds. I would definitely recommend this to large groups or families.

A lovely property and stay for our party of six adults and three small children.

Secluded with beautiful views across the countryside, but near enough to shops. Comfortable and well and thoughtfully-equipped. (In fact, there was more than advertised, eg an extra high-chair/baby equipment which would have been useful to know about). Would recommend.

An incredibly beautiful property with scenic views of the countryside.

The cottage was very clean and spacious and well-equipped with essential utensils. Many board games were provided which were fun for the kids! The jacuzzi was the highlight of our stay there!

We stayed at Bicton Lea over Christmas, there were 10 of us, 7 adults and 3 children and we had plenty of room for us all.

The house is beautiful and so are the surroundings, it was perfect for a group holiday. The house has everything you need and we were very thankful for the large american fridge/freezer and the pantry! The bedrooms are all large and very comfortable. The lounge was big enough for us all to sit comfortably and with the fire on was very cosy. The hot tub was lovely and the host was very helpful with providing cots, stair gates and highchairs for our little ones. The only negative thing we could say about our stay was that it went too quickly! We would definitely recommend Bicton Lea and definitely will be back one day!

Bicton Lea is a lovely place to stay.

There was a family of 9 plus 2 dogs and we all loved it. Everything we needed and rooms beds etc all lovely and clean. Gorgeous Christmas tree in the conservatory and fairy lights lighting up the staircase made the atmosphere perfect. As a family we are unable to spend Christmas Day together and the time here was ‘our’ Christmas together it was perfect. Would stay again.

We couldn’t of expected anything more, a real home from home feeling.

Great space to allows people to come together, but also enough space to allow you to have your own time. We enjoyed using the space to have dinner and breakfast together while hosting our own little cocktail night via the kitchen hatch. We made great use of the hot tub, which was maintained every morning by the owners. It was nice to sit outside either morning, afternoon or night and take in the views while having a glass of fizzy. The snug under the stairs was a great touch, a few of us enjoyed completing the 1000piece jigsaw as well as playing card games. The beds were incredibly comfortable, we all managed to get peaceful sleeps. A massive thank you for this home, after loosing one of our best friends who was meant to join us on this getaway we still managed to enjoy ourselves and she would of loved this property. Thank you again.

The property is lovely and situated in beautiful countryside with great views.

Lovely garden, ideal for families and dogs. The property is extremely well equipped and the big bonus for us compared to other houses we have used in the past was the generous space to store food! Great to have a pantry for that. Comfortable seating in lounge although recliners didn't seem to work. Nice to eat together in dining room, there is room for the whole group if you add a couple of chairs from the conservatory. I'd have preferred comfy seating in the conservatory as it's got great views and woul be a perfect spot to relax. Easy to keep clean with a covered porch, leading to utility space for cleanimg muddy boots and dogs. Lots of space to park several vehicles. The only downside for us was the ridiculous check out time of 9am. This spoils the last breakfast and impinges on evening before. I understand the owners have 3 properties to clean but this approach basically leaves you a day short with late check in and the early check out. With the need to strip beds and empty and clean the property before leaving it is a very early start on the last morning. Otherwise everything about this place is brilliant and I would definitely recommend it.

Had a lovely weekend break at Bicton Lea.

Fabulous countryside, and views. The house is spacious, we had a party of 9, 6 adults, 3 teenagers and 1 dog. Garden is large, so the dog could run around to his hearts content. The only downside was that there wasn’t enough seating in the dinning room or sitting room for us all to be together. There are 2 dinning rooms one seating 6 and the other, which is through double doors and down a step in the conservatory, seating 4. The sitting room had a large recliner that sat 5, and a tub chair. Again there was another sitting room that sat 3. The separate rooms are great if you have members of your party that want to sit separately , but as we were having a family celebration we did want to been together in the evening. It would be ideal to have these details in the summary section on the booking page.

We had a great time at Bicton Lea, the house was so well equipped, unlike other properties, we could actually get all of us sat in the lounge and round the table.

The second TV room was brilliant for the teenagers and giving us both a bit of space (both had big screen TVs!). The kitchen was really well kitted out and with a full length American style fridge freezer, so plenty of space. All the bedrooms were really good sizes (the master with en-suite is huge!!) And the family bathroom shower was really powerful, again often something that is a bit of a let down in other cottages). The dining area and conservatory were again brilliant in letting people split off into little private areas and we all loved the snug reading area under the stairs (stacked with books and games!). The whole place was really nicely decorated and felt new and everything was so clean. The garden was huge (dog had a great time) and again looked like new garden furniture with full size umbrella on the patio where we would sit and take in the fantastic view, plus the hot tub which was amazing (and checked everyday by Jason at about 530am- I only know because I happened to be awake one day as he was super quiet,). We cannot recommend the property enough,vthank you Jenna and lovely to chat to you too Jason, highly recommend!!!

It was a lovely stay and we all enjoyed it very much, the added bonus of the hot tub was great and the views were just amazing!

We had a very special time celebrating an important event in this fantastic house. As a bonus, the views were amazing, the gardens lovely … and the hot tub was the icing on the cake.

With 4 adults, 4 kids and a dog we needed somewhere with lots of room. The house was absolutely amazing, perfect for all our needs. The hot tub was brilliant at night and the garden allowed the kids and dog to run around with safety. We visited Ludlow Castle and Clun Castle on our trip and the furthest only 30 mins away. We will definitely be returning. Couldn't recommend highly enough

We all had such an amazing time here, despite the weather, and didn't stop us from using the hot tub, which was perfect with the views. The house was amazing and clean. I would definitely come here again! It was perfect.

Property directions were good as it is quite tucked away (one of the reasons we selected it!

) Property was warm when we arrived in Feb which was appreciated with log fire burning already. Hot tub was used and enjoyed by all....even in the rain! Everything we needed was in the house and generally it was all in very good condition. There were 8 adults in our party and all agreed we would return.

Our second visit to this property for the Christmas week and so glad we choose to return.

We are a family of 6 with 4 teenagers and I have to say we had the most relaxing week you could wish for, the hot tub was a hit. Plenty of room for everyone to have their own space and also a big enough dining room and lounge for us all to get together and eat and play games. Well equipped kitchen, beds extremely comfy, huge stack of logs, peaceful location with beautiful views what more could you want, we will definitely return in the future! The house has superb views which can be enjoyed from the conservatory, garden or the hot tub. It is within easy access to other locations in Shrophire. The house is clean spacious with many extras. Its a great location for time with family or friends and I would highly recommend

Second time we've stayed here and it really is such a wonderful place and a real home away from home.

Gorgeous views of the countryside, wonderfully stocked and clean accommodation and the hot tub is the icing on the cake.

Peace and quiet of stunning rural location.

Feeling part of countryside life: harvesting, cows, sheep, goats, horses all within view. Treat for townies! Huge garden and hot tub provided great chance to relax as a family which included a 2 year old and a 6 week old baby. Owners, Jenna and Jason, responded really quickly to any concerns including replacing dishwasher within 2 days. Property is really spacious and was generously equipped for the number of guests.

Views where spectacular.

Flies where annoying but the owners had fly traps to try to limit them. Owners came daily to clean the hottub. Place had everything you need. Would highly recommend. It is remote with a small village 7 min drive away.

Everything was as it should be apart from instruction leaflets for the dishwasher and the oven would have been useful.

Apart from that , marvellous.

We had a brilliant stay at Bicton Lea - really well equipped, clean and beautiful views, particularly from the hot tub!

The house is delightful and with a generous utility room and plenty of space for shoes, boots and coats would work well in all weathers.

Our family loved the snug with ‘massive’ TV, and the garden which is beautiful with stunning views and we enjoyed the ponies looking over the fence. The kitchen is well equipped with an excellent fridge freezer but the two small ovens challenged cooking for a large group. An additional set of keys and/or a key safe would be a good addition. One family had a puncture at Ironbridge and had to wait 4 hours for the AA involving the other family driving a 2 hour round trip to collect the only keys. Also be sure to drive very slowly down the access road there are potholes!

Beautiful house in lovely surroundings, had a well needed break chilling in front of the log burner in the very comfy lounge, we enjoyed bubbly in the bubbles of the hot tub, while taking in the spectacular view at sundown, highly recommend a visit, it has everything you need, home from home

The property was spot on.

The area was lovely and remote, it should be noted that you have to travel to get anything ie milk nearest village is 2miles but takes 15 mins to get there due to country lanes which some may find a problem. Only negative for a large property meant for large groups one bedroom had no wardrobe so had to share with another other than that place was perfect. Would have been nice to have met the owners

Booked very last minute due to the situation in Wales and we were absolutely delighted with the house,its location and the size.

The only thing that let it down was the ensuite bathroom as the shower and toilet were not working properly,we did not report it as it was not a major problem and didn't spoil our holiday.We loved the layout of the house ,the boot room was great for shoes and washing the dog,the living room with a good tv and lovely log burner was spacious but cozy for the 6 of us and the wi-fi was excellent. The outside space was amazing so tranquil and it was lovely to be surrounded by cows,sheep and 2 friendly ponies.We really enjoyed using the hot tub the views from it were great. The nearby village of Clun was good for eating out with a couple of pubs and there was a good Coop there if you needed any groceries, Bishops Castle was lovely too with some nice local shops a butchers and a Spar and a coop.We had two meals at the Castle Hotel which were lovely, well organised for COVID 19. We had a lovely time and really enjoyed being in the depths of Shropshire as a family away from all the doom and gloom we would definately return.

The house was immaculate, extremely clean.

Perfect location, fantastic walks and the house is perfectly designed for dogs with the separate porch and utility. Huge enclosed garden and the best hot tub we've been in.

Both the house itself and the location are absolutely stunning!

We really couldn’t have asked for more. There is everything that you’d need there - from a fully equipped kitchen to beautifully set up bedrooms and bathrooms. We had a few tiny issues with the toilet in the ensuite not flushing properly and the Hoover was missing its front cover so we couldn’t hoover but aside from that I’d go back in a heartbeat. Highly recommend

Beautiful setting with great facilities but be prepared to travel a while to see places in the area as it is a fair way from towns and local roads very poor .

We arrived on a cold dismal day and the house was already very warm and even the log burner was lit, a lovely touch.

We had a great birthday weekend and what a fabulous place to celebrate my wife's and my two girls birthdays.

We stayed here over the Christmas week with our 4 children aged 17, 15, 13 and 10 We had a really great week in lovely surroundings, with great views and we loved seeing the sheep in the mornings.

On our arrival We were welcomed with the log burner lit and there was a real Christmas tree that was beautifully decorated. The house was very clean and well furnished, the kitchen had everything we needed for our stay with loads of plates etc. The hot tub was a huge hit with us, which was maintained each morning by the owner Plenty of towels were proved, we took extra but didn’t need them. There was a huge amount of wood for us to use in the burner as well. We thoroughly enjoyed our week and was disappointed when we couldn’t book for next Christmas as it was already taken. Thanks for such a enjoyable relaxing week!

Beautiful house in an idilic quiet countryside location.

Great facilities for a family or group get together. We loved the log burner and the hot tub, it made the stay just that bit more special. Ideal location for exploring the beautiful Shropshire countryside. We would book again and recommend to others.

A choice of bedding would make a good holiday even better!

The only option provided were feather duvets and pillows. Our (adult) son is allergic to feathers and so we had to improvise for him, which wasn't ideal. If you're only going to offer one option, synthetic would be safer. Also, duvets were heavy which was just about OK in October but would have been far too hot in June/July.

House was fantastic, plenty of space for a family arranging from 1-70 years old .

Views from house beautiful. (Windows in each room made the most of this ) . Hot tub .was a hit with everyone . Garden was great plenty of space . We all played outdoor games . Jenna and Jason were very helpful. We asked if knew a local chef who come in and cook for us , on the Saturday night . Put us touch with Andrew . . We all enjoyed the meal .

We loved Bicton Lea - a really beautiful location in the Shropshire Hills and a very practical house for adults and children.

Needless to say the hot tub was a big success and we enjoyed being surrounded by sheep, cattle and horses in the nearby fields. It exceeded our expectations!

The owner was very kind and maintained the hot tub each day, before we left he checked up on us to make sure everything was ok with our stay and even advised us on travelling home.

Absolutely fabulous house to spend some quality time with extended family!

Breath taking scenery and gardens. Star gazing from the hot tub with very little light pollution was an experience that will never be forgotten! We did not want to leave! Thank you!

Wonderful stay over Christmasp

We loved the cottage.

The only negatives were that the heating in some of the bedrooms wouldn’t stay on consistently, the hallway downstairs was very cold even when the heating was on and the window in the biggest bedroom wouldn’t close properly making it too cold to sleep in. Overall the cottage was lovely, we had a really great stay. Really well stocked kitchen, was lovely to have fire wood and the decor of the house was lovely. Very comfy beds!

Lovely house in beautiful location

We have just had a fabulous weekend at Bicton Lea , which is in an idyllic location , with so much space for a large family group, so that all ages could relax and enjoy the experience .

When we arrived on Friday afternoon the house was cosy and welcoming, with the wood burner blazing merrily in the main sitting room and the central heating warming the upper floor We were fortunate with the weather for mid October, and had a classic Indian Summer weekend, with misty mornings and glorious late afternoon sunshine. Perfect for enjoying all the nearby walks or just sitting outside and soaking up the sun . The hot tub went down a storm with the youngsters too . Altogether the best property I have yet rented anywhere ( and there have been many ) , we shall definitely return .

We had a really lovely break at Bicton Lea.

The house was extremely comfortable, clean and more than adequate to cater for my party of 6 ladies. The views from the house were beautiful and we spent time enjoying these stunning views from the hot tub. All in all we couldn't fault the place and having booked other venues with Sykes we all agreed it was the best yet.

Beautifully situated in wonderful surroundings.

The photos on the website do not do it justice. Some maintenance is required as things are getting tired. Owner was a little too attentive for our liking and spoiled the privacy that we wanted and the garden is not secure for dogs (open to their sheep field). I was concerned that the sheep grazing on the lawn hindered our own dogs to be running loose and free unattended 100%. We vacated a night early due to this so left on the Sunday afternoon. I would probably not return to this venue but I would recommend to others just with a few pointers regards our experience.

The property would benefit from full fencing round the garden which would have made it better for dogs.

There was a lot of chipped plates large and small also bowls. You had to be selective about which you used. Plenty of room and other amenities excellent.

The house is extremely comfortable.

Sitting in the conservatory to eat dinner looking out at the lovely countryside was fabulous. A great location with easy access to the surrounding attractions such as Powys Castle.

Views were fabulous and enjoyed the sheep and horses nearby. Accommodation was excellent and plenty of room for everyone and the dogs. Hot tub was great too with lovely views. Would highly recommend and hope to visit again.

The property and location were perfect.

The view we had was just wonderful. The house was the perfect size for our party of 10. We wish there were less flies but we guess that’s just part of being in the country side, and a few more drawers in each room would have been brill! We loved our week at bicton lea and did not want to leave!

Bicton Lea was one of the best holidays we have had.

There was plenty of room for us all. Lovely views across the countryside. Will definitely be visiting again

Bicton lea is a great family house the views are amazing especially this time of year with the lambs in the fields .

The hot tub was used & enjoyed by everyone. Lots of good walks around , there's a great one from the house into Clun stopping of at the Maltings cafe ( which we would highly recommend) .

The cottage was well equipped and extremely clean.

The little touches were fantastic, the fire was already lit so the lounge was so warm and welcoming, there was coffee and tea already there, we did replace It so the next people could also enjoy. There were 10 of us and this cottage had so much room. Views were stunning. I could go on and on. Highly recommend. Definately will book again

We had a wonderful week at Bicton Lea.

Fell in love with the house and the view from all the windows. It is a peaceful and modern house and the owners were very helpful. The kitchen is a gem and has everything you could think of. Master bedroom is huge with enauite and the main bathroom has a nice deep bath. I can't actually think of anything I haven't liked about this house. Lovely to find such a nice place that accepts pets as well - our boy loved his holiday! Hoping to go back one day soon!

A thoroughly pleasant stay in a beautiful cottage.

Perfect for a quiet peaceful holiday in a perfect location! The cottage is very comfortable, very clean and extremely well-equipped, and the owners really have thought of everything. The owners are lovely people, very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend the cottage.
