Thank you to the owners for going that extra mile to make our stay so special!! & Sykes this is definitely one of you're very best!!
-
"Sarnwen cottage was immaculate yet welcoming."
Furnishings were of a very high quality and we appreciated the 'extras,' especially the dog!
-
"Above and beyond with all the little extras even down to boxes of tissues by the bed."
Very dog friendly with bed, blankets, bowls and treats. Decor tasteful and beautifully done. We will definitely be back next year. Area lovely too and people so friendly.
-
"1 Sarwen Cottages is a lovely place to stay."
Clean, modern and well equipped, it had everything we needed, making our stay so enjoyable. Bath and shower were excellent. The king-size bed was so comfortable. Thank you for all the nice goodies, a lovely surprise. Also the treats and bedding for our dog were much appreciated. A delightful 'doggie' cottage. We hope to return. Thank you both.
-
"Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would certainly recommend 1 Sarnwen Cottages."
Small but perfectly cosy, comfortable, clean and very well equipped. The extra treats provided were much appreciated by us & our two little dogs. Great location for exploring this lovely area. Would happily return.

"Lovely cottage, spotlessly clean, beds are very comfortable."
Lots of nice little touches which made it feel like home and the wine and cake was much appreciated. Off road parking was a real bonus. We would definitely come back.
-
"I have booked 6 Syke’s cottages in the last 10 years, and 1 Sarnwen is the nicest of any that I have stayed in."
The cottage is charming and spotless, with furnishings that make it feel like home. The owners, Kath and Ian, have put an amazing amount of thought into the finishing touches in the cottage while providing everything you could possibly want for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Our fur baby was well-catered for with bed, bowls, blankets and treats and the “people” treats were greatly appreciated as well. It was great to have an off-road place to park and the courtyard garden is a great, safe place for dogs. A perfect 10!

"One of the best properties we have stayed in, bright, clean ,well furnished, excellent."
-
"If I could give this cottage 11 out of ten I would, it’s probably the best we’ve ever stayed in , decor and facilities are outstanding ,absolutely everything you cld possibly need, attention to detail is amazing, right down to treats, bowls and blankets for the dog, the little courtyard garden is a great sun trap and we were really happy to see it’s completely dog proof, we have a mini dax and there was no way he could escape."
Its as if someone has just stepped out of their home to make way for you to stay, and it really felt like a home not a house, we took a lot of things with us which we needn’t have, and the human treats were lovely, (we had the wine and cake on our anniversary, thankyou ) would thoroughly recommend this cottage.
-

"Property was perfect."
So tidy and clean and fully equipped with everything we could possibly need. Owners have put in a lot of thought as to what people might need when they’re on holiday, and they have got it spot on!
-
"Really nice cottage."
Has everything you would need. There will be lesser cottages at more expensive rates, so this is a great option
-
"Lovely cottage."
Very comfortable with everything needed for a great stay.
-
"Absolutely top class."
Such great attention to detail to ensure vistors' stays are carefree and comfortable. From provision of "essentials" to discreet notes with instructions for use of items. Having struggled many times to work out how to operate variants of showers I was very happy to see the little card with instructions on how to operate theirs
-

"Of the many cottages we have stayed in, this was our favourite."
It was very clean and cosy. Great shower with plenty of hot water. Very comfortable bed and good storage for clothes. The kitchen had everything you could need and an outdoor secure area for our dog. We will be returning soon to explore everything this area offers. We were at a family function so ran out of time this visit.
-
"Absolutely one of the best we have stayed in, very clean and everything you would need."
Like home from home. Parking was a bit tight. Also advert stated pub was 0.5 miles away, this is not correct its actually 1.5 it mattered to me because of my mobility issues. Had to drive for a meal, but on the whole we had a lovely week. Thankyou
Thank you for your kind feedback. I’m so sorry the information about the pub was incorrect, thank you for letting me know. Sykes are going to update it for me as the Punch Bowl is actually one mile away whilst the shop is half a mile. I do hope this didn’t spoil your stay. Best wishes, Kath Property Owner

"This is most probably the best cottage I have stayed in, the little extras were a lovely treat and if you needed anything, it was there."
The bottle of wine, milk, butter, chocolate biscuits and the little jams which my wife loved just make it, it may seam nothing to some, but it shows you are. Thank you Ian & Kath, you have a lovely cottage and the doggies loved your big doggy bed and the little extras for them also. Eric & Sam
-

Places to visit in the surrounding area were scenic and easy to get to. A generous welcome pack, even for the dog, was left by the owner. Great care had been made on the lay out of the cottage and plenty of information on how to use items was left to help with the stay. Thoroughly enjoyed our vacation.

"Fantastic cottage and spotlessly clean."
Everything you needed was provided in this cottage. From notes left by the hosts it made you feel very relaxed and unrestricted at all which is unusual in some cases. Location was OK with a pub and shops 10 to 15 minutes' walk away. But never too far from many other places. Lovely spot to sit outside when sunny. Overall, a very enjoyable stay to be had at this cottage.
-
"The cottage is the best we have been to,everything was catered for the bed was soooo!"
comfy would recommend it to everyone who would like to visit the area. Welshpool is only 10min away which has many shops, powis castle which is lovely to walk around the grounds & gardens also shrewsbury is 14 miles where there are lots of shops and eating places. They left us some lovely goodies which we enjoyed very much Although the cottage is on a fairly busy road it goes quiet at night so didn't bother us. Kathy the owner was so helpful & friendly we will definitely be going back.
-

-
"We had a lovely stay at Sarnwen Cottage."
It was exceptionally clean throughout and the decor was of a high standard. A lot of thought and care has been put into this cottage. Dogs bed and bowls were provided along with dog treats which was very thoughtful. The owners were very helpful when we asked them for information regarding places to visit. The garden is a little suntrap until late into the evening. There's plenty of books to read while relaxing. The owners left us a little welcome pack of wine, milk, butter and biscuits which was lovely. There are some nice walks locally, Haughmond Hills is one we visited, amazing views and a lovely cafe with outside seating. If you want to go a little further then Beaumaris in Anglesey is definitely worth a visit. This cottage is in an ideal location if you want to explore different parts of Wales. Highly recommended.
-
"A lovely well equipped cottage that had everything we needed, the wine, biscuits, milk and butter were a lovely touch, as were the doggie treats."
The garden was much smaller than it appeared in the photos, but it was enclosed, had outdoor furniture and was a nice evening sun trap to sit and chill. A dog bed, towel, bowls, poo bags and treats were provided, as were cleaning items in the kitchen, along with dishwasher and washing tablets, tea, coffee etc, basically everything you need. Just a little niggle, we have an estate car and each time we drove on or off the sloped drive it caught the underneath of the car, it didn't matter whether we went in forwards, backwards or from different angles. Also because the road was so busy, we didn't want to risk parking on the road as cars and lorries would go really fast whether it was day or night. It was a great base to explore both Wales and Shropshire, Offa's Dyke Path is close by, which is a nice walk beside the canal, both Oswestry and Welshpool are about a 30 minute drive away and Llangollen was just beautiful especially the Horseshoe Falls.
Thank you for your kind comments and feedback. I had not realised the parking area was an issue for long cars. Sykes have updated the property description to avoid this happening again. I contact all my guests before they arrive and encourage them to let me know of any issues. I will always help if I can and could have suggested alternative parking. I am sorry you felt let down by the outside space but I feel the picture Sykes have taken is pretty accurate. I am glad you you were still able to enjoy it. Thank you again for taking the time to give feedback, it is important and I do appreciate and act on it whenever possible. Property Owner

"Loved it! One of the best equipped and comfortable cottages we have stayed in."
Well located for access to walks, including offas dyke path, montgomery canal and Lake Vyrnwy. Lots still to explore so we hope to be back for another stay. For a small cottage, the owners had thoughtfully considered the layout and it had everything we needed, even our dog had a bed and treats left for her. Great holiday, thank you.
-
"Lovely cottage, well equipped, clean and comfortable, and a great base for exploring the surrounding area."
-
"Excellent accommodation with everything required for a wonderful holiday."
Great location for beautiful walks with Welshpool and Oswestry within easy access. Welcome pack was a nice touch and very much appreciated. Owners couldn't do enough for us and were very helpful and friendly when we had contact with them.
-
"Best holiday accommodation we have ever stayed in!"
Owners have gone to great lengths (and cost) to make it comfortable for guests. It was exceptionally clean, comfortable, warm and well equipped - and in a great location. I have often cleaned accommodation on arrival, as my expectations are really high - but this one was impeccably clean. I also take items with me, such as a garlic press and a sharp knife, but even these were redundant as the owners had supplied them. A lot of thought has gone into what guests need and the owners should be proud of what they have achieved with the property. The cottage is in a great location. We did lots of cycling and walking - and even managed a coffee on the decking one sunny afternoon (early March). We would not hesitate to return if we decide to revisit this part of the country and strongly recommend it to others. So, to anyone thinking of renting it. and reading this feedback, our advice is to not hesitate and just book it!! You won't be disappointed.
