A lovely property in beautiful surroundings.

Very spacious with very comfortable beds and furnishings. Although a lack of instructions for the use of amenities. It would possibly save the owners some time answering various questions if everything was simply at hand for guests to read. One cooker working, the Aga out of action. With 4 bath/shower rooms only 2 showers had hot enough water to use. One side of the house was very cold with the other side being lovely and comfortable with heating on. We tried to light fires etc in the cold side but unfortunately couldn't get the gas on. When questioned with the owner I was told they were switched off because previous guests had complained it was too warm. Being the end of October you'd think you'd have the choice. If we had the choice of heating and full use of all 4 showers while on a winter break I wouldn't hesitate to return & recommend to others. Its a beautiful house in stunning surroundings With the best hot tub yet!

Great stay here for my friends hen do.

Positives: Stunning house absolutely beautiful, House had eveything we needed. House middle of no where meant we didn’t have to worry about noise level Huge hot tub, park, games room, tv room, snug, 9 bedrooms, towels & linen etc provided. Knighton a small village is near by but it is a 10 minute drive roads a bit dangerous to walk to , so a mini bus for 15 of us cost £235 from forest coaches, we had a yummy meal and drinks in the banc pub Knighton. Negatives - no manual for huge house, we searched everywhere for outside lights on floor & walls so around hot tub really dark, Gemma did give us a guys number but they were light sensors so didn’t want to disturb him 10.30-11 when was dark. No spare bedding left for sofa beds / chair beds and wasn’t in listing of property to ask prior to arrival please be aware of this you have to request sofa beds / chair beds to be made up, one of the girls had no bedding for the sofa bed luckily was hot so not as needed! It is a working farm and we went in the middle of a heat wave so house was covered with flies couldn’t leave food uncovered even for a second. I think the wood on balcony’s need to be restored some didn’t feel safe to walk on & could do with a paint.

Lovely house, it's definitely 5***** just a few matienance issues nothing that was worth reporting though.

There isn't a manual or welcome book so you are left to guess a lot of stuff, e.g. what to do with bins. After a quick message to owner we established this and we're a bit shocked to find there isn't any seperate bins for recycling (it's sorted after apparently) which was awful as 90% of our bins were full of cardboard from various food packaging or cans. Some of the lights need a new light bulb as they're out in the bedrooms. I couldn't for the life of me find a light switch for a set of lights in the bedroom during the whole week (above the dressing table) so had to make due to subdue light doing my make up. The hot tub was fantastic and I think cleaned most days. The bar did snap holding the covers during a mildly windy night (they weren't strong winds though). The owner was quick to send someone to check it for us. We would have liked to turn the heating off but again no manual to figure this out. But again, not the end of the world. Lovely house, most things are there. We did bring bar Mats due to no drink coasters being in the house (saw from a previous review in advance) but w didn't think about place mats and there none there. Loved having a big room for our group to congurate but also loved the smaller tv room for those who wanted to do something else. We did move one of the table out and three big tables put together was just to big for us and we felt miles away from each other. 100% strongly recommend though, we adored watching the wildlife and working farm in action. We ordered a food delivery from morrisons and had no issues getting it delivered. The same for a last minute Amazon parcel or two. Pubs are a drive but we found one less then 10 minutes away. Lots to do, great for a large family stay or like us a group of friends who try to spend one week together a year. It's hard to see everyone once you hit 30 so this works for us. Highly recommend and we were highly impressed. A welcome book though would just make things a bit smoother to figure stuff out, like where's the ironing board etc.
