  Everything you need (tumble dryer would be good) for a comfortable stay. Nice walks from the cottage and close to village. Lovely area for sightseeing too.

  Accommodation had everything you need for a break, good sized enclosed garden for dogs to enjoy. Near enough to village to stroll down for local amenities. Only downside was the weather which no one can control. Overall i would recommend this accommodation and would use again.

  The property was as described and more. Comfortable, clean and very quiet with glorious skies at night. The sheep in the field and listening to all the birds was very relaxing. We went out every day to explore the area. We would stay here again if visiting this part of Wales. Highly recommended.

• "What a beautiful place to stay."

  Everything was perfect. Lovely flowers, wine and Welsh cakes on arrival, the Alders is so comfortable with everything in place for a truly relaxing holiday. Our dogs enjoyed the huge garden and seeing the sheep in the adjoining field each morning was an added attraction. The town is only a short walk away with plenty of shops, pubs and takeaways but due to the location of the property you feel you’re away from any hustle and bustle of daily life. A perfect place to take time out and chill.

• "We found the accommodation to be extremely clean and comfortable with the added bonus of a beautiful enclosed garden, perfect for our 2 dogs."

  Just a short stroll into town with a well stocked shop and a couple of pubs. The food and beer in the Cain Valley Hotel was very good and they made our dogs welcome. The portions in the Chinese takeaway were large! We would definitely recommend The Alders to friends and hope to return soon.

• "We had a wonderful relaxing holiday."

  The house was beautifully clean, had all the facilities we needed and most of all quiet. The garden was secure for our dog and walks on the doorstep, but also the shops were stones thorrow away. Thanks for a great vreak and happy memory making.

• "Beautiful, tranquil spot."

  The fully enclosed garden is beautiful and perfect for "zoomies" for the dog. The sheep in the field next door of a morning was lovely to wake up to and the log burner was perfect for that inevitable wet day. The cottage is within walking distance to a well stocked SPAR shop, Chinese take away and fish and chip shop, not to mention pub restaurants. The property has everything you need and the owner was super quick to respond and resolve any issues (we had a plumbing issue, which was unforeaseeable and Elaine sorted it very promptly and considerately). The welcome pack was an added bonus and the flowers were a lovely touch. Worth noting that pets are not allowed in the bedrooms or on the furniture (this was not a problem for us but would be worth adding to the blurb incase others do have a dog that this would be a problem for). We went for day trips to the coast and into the local towns or just enjoyed the bird song and sheep baa-ing in the garden with a book. Perfect for switching off. Also, of note for any EV drivers, there aren't any local public points (at present) but less than 10 miles away in Welshpool there is parking with fast chargers and lots of shops, restaurants. B&Ms, Tescos etc to while away the charging time easily. All the places we visited while there had charging ports and we had no issues.

• "A wonderful bungalow in a beautiful, tranquil setting, just a few minutes walk from Llanfyllin."

  The glorious garden was an extra bonus and much appreciated by our small dog. We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and loved the thoughtful extras - garden chairs, darts for the outdoor dartboard.

• "Fantastic spacious bungalow in a great location close to Llanfyllin centre but completed secluded."

  It is a great property for anyone with a reactive dog as the garden is huge and fully enclosed with no passing cars or people to the property. There is gated access through a quiet and unused field area and the house has its own second gate and is fully enclosed. The open plan layout is excellent and the 3 bedrooms and two bathrooms are perfect. We loved watching the woodpecker and numerous tits using the peanut bird feeder just outside the kitchen window. The welcome food and drinks were much appreciated. Overall, a fabulous property that is wholeheartedly recommended.

• "Thank you for such a lovely stay."

  The house was so well equipped for everything we could possibly have needed. The information and maps of local walks was a great bonus and we enjoyed exploring the local countryside. We have a dog who is reactive if she sees another dog so finding somewhere to stay that is truly private and where neighbouring dogs aren’t present is really important to us. This property definitely fits that bill. The sheep coming up to the garden fence first thing in the morning was lovely.

• "Our second stay here and we thoroughly enjoyed."

  The owner is lovely and very approachable and welcoming. The cottage is clean and comfortable and the dogs loved the huge fenced in garden. The town is only a few minutes walk and has places to eat. All in all I would recommend a holiday here

• "The Alders is a fabulous bungalow, the owners have thought of so many welcoming touches."

  It felt warm and inviting as soon as you opened the front door. Amazing views from front windows, lovely welcome gifts, good quality kitchen appliances and utensils etc, very comfortable beds, spotlessly clean thought out, safe enclosed well maintained garden which our dogs loved exploring and even extra pet towels, highly recommended.

  Very cosy with log burner. Well equipped with comfortable beds. Lots of storage for bikes and outdoor gear. Utility area with shower. Secure garden with views. 5 minute walk into small town with all amenities. Would recommend.

• "We had a lovely relaxing week at The Alders."

  The cottage was cozy and very well equipped with everything we needed. The laminated walks were a great idea and very easy to follow - made exploring very easy. The location was perfect - a short stroll into Llanfyllin for shops, takeaways etc but gave the impression of being very remote as it was so peaceful. Would definitely recommend.

• "The property was very comfortable and very well equipped, the settee has got a spring coming through which was however very uncomfortable."

• "This is a lovely place to stay."

  Very peaceful and private but jus a few minutes walk from the village. The owner was very helpful when we had a query. There was a lovely welcome pack and lovely flowers on our arrival. For anyone with dogs the garden is secure and large. There are sheep in the field, although we only saw them in the morning. We had everything we needed for a relaxing stay.

• "Had a lovely week at the Alders."

  4 adults, 2 children (aged 5 & 1) and 2 dogs. A lovely welcome with a bottle of fizz, flowers, milk & lovely welsh cakes. There was plenty of room for all of us and we didn't feel crammed in. All facilities were excellent. The private garden was great for all to play in. We did all sorts, walks from the doorstep, lakes Bala & Vyrnwy. Paddle boarding on Vyrnwy was great fun and also a beach day at Barmouth. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Alders for a lovely break away.

• "A lovely getaway."

  Clean and tidy with a great enclosed garden with a nice view. Llanfyllin is a lovely little friendly place. Good for getting away from the hustle and bustle yet with enough amenities, couple of pubs, cafe etc very close by.

  . Easy walk to village.Good outlook from windows.The only gripe from me was that the sofa and chairs were a bit to low for me,i had a job to get out of them.Otherwise had a great holiday ,would think about coming again. Mr Hickman.

• "Absolutely loved the Alders."

  It had everything we needed, kitchen very well equipped, smart tv, beds very comfortable and the garden is secure which is a must for our 2 Scotty dogs. Some great walks, we went and found the lonely tree, this was such a hard walk with a steep incline but once we reached the top the views were amazing. We will definitely be returning.

• "The cottage was lovely but when booking it did say that it may be suitable for wheelchair users."

  However it is not appropriate for a full time wheelchair user. If someone is able to walk a few steps then it definitely would be OK. It's in a beautiful setting and very comfortable with everything you need for a relaxing holiday.

• "The Alders was ideal for our two week stay, having all the facilities we needed in a super secluded yet convenient location for Llanfyllin."

  A friendly small town with 3 grand pubs and good stores (including a top charity shop !). Elaine was very caring and friendly and made us feel so welcome. The garden, fully enclosed (as such ideal for our dog) were lovely to sit in and chill. Lots to see around the area, we only touched the surface; Local walks, Lake Vyrnwy, Llangynog, Welshpool, Oswestry and further afield Barmouth and Bala. Two weeks was too short, so we'll just have to return. Perfect !

  Lovely locality and village shops very well stocked with items for dietary requirements as well as a large range. Local butcher brilliant, organic shop, open Thurs to Sat excellent, wide range of vegetarian and vegan items as well as fruit, vegetables, spices and they do delicious coffee.

  Beautufu bungalow/cottage in a peaceful location. Spotlessly clean and very homely. Equipped with everything you could possibly need. Lovely places to visit around the area too. Would highly recommend this letting to everyone. You won’t be disappointed at all. Our grandson and furry friend loved the freedom of the garden and was totally safe as it is all enclosed. Elaine was also very very helpful and answered a message quickly if we needed to know anything. All in all fabulous holiday, fabulous cottage and would highly recommend it

  It was really lovely to be back and it now seems like our second home. Elaine really provides all one needs and is always available if needed. The town of Llanfyllin was fully open this time, so we were able to enjoy eating out in very pleasant and friendly surroundings. • "The house was perfect."

  Lovely location, had everything you could want and the owner was great - nothing was too much trouble and she would go above and beyond to try and accommodate you. There are many places to eat just a short walk into the village and the beach was only just over an hour away. The only negative (which is our problem not the house), is if you’ve got a small dog or a dog prepared to jump a 3-4ft fence then really you need to keep a dog on a lead in the garden. Ours is naughty and tried to escape on a couple of occasions, and there are lots of lovely trees and bushes dotted around so you can’t keep an eye on them very easily.

• "What a fantastic cottage, it really ticked all the boxes and more."

  It’s quiet, comfortable, and thoroughly modern. On the doorstep of the village but without any hustle and bustle. Very cosy with the wood burner going in the evening. From the cottage there are many fantastic walks and I heartily recommend taking a hike up to the Lonely Tree and down around the river valley. The local butcher supplied us some amazing produce allowing me to cook one of the best Sunday Roasts I’ve ever managed and his prices were very good too. There’s also fresh garden produce readily available, we picked the right time of year as many local gardeners had harvested their crops and were selling or giving away excess so we had a lot of fruit and vegetables given to us. It really was a fantastic break and we are already looking to come back when time allows us.

• "Good basic accommodation, with everything you want for a break in Wales."

  Property is an easy walk into Llanfyllin, with pubs restaurants all open and adhering to Covid procedures. Weather was exceptional, not a drop of rain all week a true Indian summer. We visited Lake Vyrnwy, a must scenery is epic, Lake Bala was worth a visit, the drive there through magnificent scenery is an experience not forgotten in a while. Powys castle gardens and Welshpool were great as well. The Llanfyllin workhouse is interesting (book before) you visit. Plenty of walks round and about, take your walking boots, very scenic. We will definitely return to wales again. Owners are friendly and helpful.

• "Lovely Cottage in a wonderful spot."

  Plenty to see locally and further afield. Beautifully clean with everything we needed. We had sunsets every night and the peace and quiet was just what we all needed. The village of Llanfyllin itself has everything you need for day to day shopping and Welshpool, with its larger shops, is a short scenic drive away. We found the village to be very friendly and welcoming.
