  • "The accommodation is good."

. and there are some points we hope to inform you about 1- There is a smell inside the house, perhaps from the fuel in the bathroom next to the main entrance.. and despite all attempts, the smell remained annoying 2- I went down with my child on the road going up to the neighboring fields, and a young man surprised me and said that walking on this road is forbidden because it is private.. and I did not know that.. and the pictures of the house and its surroundings make us feel that we can walk in those fields.. then it became clear that most of them are fenced.. so can we walk and go up the mountain through those fields next time or not? 3- On the last day, a woman came to clean.. but she was angry and her face was down and she was completely silent and had upset looks.. so you can take this aspect into consideration.. with thanks and appreciation

  • "The Granery is a lovely barn conversion."

It is decorated to a very high standard. I was worried about being cold during our stay. I should not have worried. It was warm and welcoming. The bedrooms are luxurious, and comfortable. It was lovely to be in the hot tub, both during the day and evening. The views are amazing! A very pleasant touch was when I received a knock at the door, to welcome us. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. I would definitely recommend The Granary.

  • "We had a great stay and it’s a great property, we stayed over Christmas the views are incredible and although not much is open this time of year there’s still lots to do, we explored Snowdonia, towns and local waterfalls, the fireplace and hot tub after a long walk we really enjoyed."

We arrived to a welcome food basket and Christmas decorations. The owners were very quick to respond or fix anything and visible. It’s the first time I’ve stayed in holiday accommodation, it comes with some quirks and is not perfect especially as they are multi used. The biggest negative was the bed in the master room, it's broken and way past its best, I ended up sleeping on the sofa some nights. The experience of this type of getaway has not put me off and I would do it again.

Thanks for the lovely comments in your review, but I'm sorry to hear you found the bed uncomfortable. It's a shame you didn't mention this during your stay, I'd have been more than happy to fix it. I've now replaced the mattress. Property Owner

.... The setting of the property, the facilities provided, along with the cleanliness overall, the views from the windows and the hot tub, the peace and tranquility, and just absolutely everything else, made this, our second week-long holiday at Y Granar in 3 weeks, just the most memorable holidays ever spent with our extended family. And finally, Huw, the owner, is one in a million. Many thanks to him for all his help and great chats. It's all down to Huw that we shall all return for a third visit very soon!

  • "The TV was rather high up on the wall with no means of bringing it down."

Could it be placed further down the wall at a ‘normal’ TV height so that you are not always craning upwards. It would also be nicer if it was on a bracket so it could be angled into the room for everyone to see properly. We were only a party of four so coped but the cottage sleeps six and people would have to sit maybe too snuggly on the sofa in order to view it properly. Otherwise it was a wonderful place to stay and the owner was very welcoming.

You will not regret staying here - the views are amazing in this idyllic, remote and stunning location. • "Wonderful..."

.and these are comments just to be helpful ....not criticisms! 1. Directions should make clear it's not the FIRST entrance on the left coming from Oswestry - because the "no entry" is in a different colour we read Castellnoch Barns a thought it was the entry road 2. Oven gloves would be useful addition in kitchen 3. In big upstairs bathroom it would be good to have a shelf over or near the basin. 4. Fence is a bit too high to see the wonderful view over the hills from the table and the hot tub. But excellent ....and replacement for broken kettle in a matter of minutes was very impressive

The accommodation was well thought out and very spacious. The small complex of 4 accommodations were well designed outside as well with lots of space and privacy from the others, and the surrounding countryside was stunning. We were a party of 2 couples and the ground floor ensuite bedroom was ideal for myself and my husband who is disabled. The two upstairs bedrooms both also had ensuites and both had wonderful views. We especially enjoyed the hot tub with its views and the homely but tasteful interior. We found lots to do in the area.
