  • "The cottage is delightful and the walled garden was perfect for the dog to roam around."

The Aga in the kitchen was a joy to use. Would definitely recommend getting the know the local butcher for your daily supply of locally sourced meat. My only comment would be the staircase would be difficult for anyone with concerns over mobility or balance (not a problem for us during our stay).

  • "Photo of nice hot tub, text received day before arrival quote" The cover has recently been damaged, the wait time for a new one is a few months, unquote."

On arrival 17 inch rip in joint of cover, months/year old looking at damage, all four buckles broken, green mold embedded in foam handles. I dont like untruths. Next day we got into hot tub, tingling feet, red rashes on legs, have had my own pools and hot tubs, obvious too much chlorine. I diluted it myself and sent a text not to add any more for the second week of stay as I had been informed it was offered. Chlorine needs to be added precise and carefully, health and safety should be at the fore. Cottage 450 years old in good condition, nice welcome pack, fenced garden for dog, had everything you would need. Again photos showed a nice dressing table in main bedroom, not there on arrival replaced by a clothes horse. Recycling bin containing previous owners and our recycling disappeared at weekend, not to be returned with no reason given. Feel the photos need an up date to help the customers see what is on offer before booking.

Dear Mr. Pollard I was sorry to read your review. Prior to your arrival, I sent a message opening communication with you, giving you further helpful information and the offer to refresh your pool water and check the chemical levels during your stay as you were staying for 2 weeks. You later replied thanking me for my message stating ‘no need to cut the grass or check chlorine levels. We are more than happy until the end of our stay’. I am sure you can therefore appreciate my surprise when I read your review. I would have been more than happy to have resolved your problem had I been told during your stay. The hygiene and safety of the hot tub is of up most importance to me, the pool is always sanitized and refilled with fresh water for each guest and the chemicals, used for your safety, are checked every time. I always strive to enhance your holiday experience and can only hope in return guests leave the property respectfully and take away happy memories. Property Owner

Large, dog safe garden with lots of native plants and outside furniture. Perfectly peaceful, yet less than 5 mins drive from local village with great shops, cafes and takeaway options.

  • "A wonderful, quirky cottage - loved the secure garden for our dog."

The steep stairs are best descended backwards to prevent banging head on low beam. Bed very comfortable and a lovely stay. Will return!

Large garden was very secure for our dog who is an escape artist, we could leave the kitchen door open and not worry about her which was a bonus. Very large and comfortable bed, lots of places to visit nearby. Thank you Sally

  • "Wonderful property."

Very well equipped, and the Aga was a bonus on a chilly week. Quiet and peaceful location but only a mile and a bit from the nearest town. Very relaxing with the hot tub. One low doorway to be aware of -( I'm six foot so may not be a problem to most) but not bad considering the age of the cottage and the stairs were a bit steep, but again not a problem. Great views all around. Lovely welcome pack awaited us. Would thoroughly recommend it.

  • "Excellent property with good facilities and well furnished."

Very nice welcome pack. Large enclosed garden for a dog. Also hot tub very welcome. If we were to be a bit picky there were times when it was a bit cold and heating seemed to be pre set to come on in evening and go off in morning. Otherwise excellent property and would recommend it.

The cottage is spacious, well equipped and full of character. The hot tub and bath were very relaxing. There are lots of lovely places to visit in the area. We had a lovely meal at The Fox and Goose pub a 5 min drive away and The Boarding House about 20 min drive too.

The cottage is absolutely beautiful and well equipped. The Garden and surrounding areas are also amazing. I particularly loved all of the little vintage touches around the cottage in particular the kitchen. The cottage was also dressed for the season with lots of little Autumnal decorations. Absolutely stunning!

. The use of the always on Aga was a delight and we had lovely freshly ironed clothes from Ms Aga each day My wife loved walking the surrounding fields nearby, the view out the breakfast room across the paddocks was a joy to us The local town of Harleston is close by and is charming and the local coop, medical centre, barbers and cafes / teashop were all useful during our stay..

..location great, quiet, peaceful very relaxing. Cottage so well equipped with everything you could need or wish for...we tackled some cooking on the AGA which was great fun...yes if you have mobility issues the stairs are a bit of a challenge and yes in the middle of the night on a toilet visit you may well bump your head on a low door but it's a 16th Century thatched cottage and a fantastic piece of history. We will definitely book again....Sally the owner was available for assistance and very helpful.

  • "The cottage was spotless, very well maintained and comfortable."

A lovely cosy place to relax and enjoy a break. Great location too! The owner was on the ball with communications too. The listing should be clearer about the staircase though. I had an older giant breed dog who just could not physically do the steep stairs. I imagine that mobility challenged folk would also struggle.

Decorated to high standard. Tastefully furnished. Fully equipped for 4 people. The cottage is a historic property but equipped with all modern facilities. A fair sized enclosed garden for dogs. Good quiet location within easy reach to walks and tourist attractions in the area. The hot tub is maintained at right temperature at all times. I highly recommend this property.

  • "We all enjoyed our week at Waveney cottage despite the weather not being very good."

The cottage is furnished to a high standard and very comfortable and it is in a very peaceful location. However, we were a little confused by the Aga as the original description stated an Aga, electric oven and hob so we thought we had an alternative and booked the property on that basis which was a bit misleading. However, we conquered the Aga. We would have appreciated a warning about the tricky staircase and low beam. It is not safe or suitable for elderly people, our age group was 75-85 with varying mobility problems. In other words we would not have booked the cottage on that basis. I think that a mention about this should be added In the description as it is a very important point. Also, the smaller bedroom ensuite toilet did not function properly. We were aware of the age of property and that it was listed and operated on LPG energy and in fact were very impressed by the spaciousness. The welcome package was very generous and the owner had gone to great lengths to make us comfortable, but had we known the disadvantages for our age group we would not have committed to it.
