"Lovely cottage, overlookin the river, spotless, everything you needed ."
Comfy beds . Only a few minutes walk from the Village. You can get a bit of traffic noise but this didnt affect our holiday.Would definitely recommend this cottage.
-
"Beautiful setting."
Accommodation is good (decor wasnt really our taste, but livable) however, the interior was a bit tired. After lots of hiking and activities, the furniture could be more comfortable. Better quality mattresses would be nice. The single bed is very squeaky, could be heard in other bedrooms when sleeper turned over. The double mattresses were ok, but bouncy and felt cheap. Sofa and chair not overly comfy. Leak on floor of on-suit, apparently was intermittent, so owner knows about it. Wasn't pleasant to step in, in middle of the night. Only half the buttons worked on remote for sky box. Cobwebs in bedroom and dirty pans in kitchen drawer. If these things could be improved, this cottage would be brilliant. It's setting right on the river, with plenty of outside space to enjoy the views and river, walks right on the doorstep and private parking in a very busy village, is ideal. Just a bit of tlc and improved comfort would make it so much better.

"The property was lovely and cozy, very close to all the pubs and restaurants and had a lovely view out the back."
We had an amazing stay and would definitely recommend this place!
-
"Although the cottage is not in the centre of Beddgelert, a pretty five-minute walk gets you there."
The river at the end of the garden is wonderful. The fridge/freezer was off and at +22C when we arrived so allow a few hours for it to cool down before you can store chilled or frozen food. The parking area could have been a bit tricky had there been other cars there because of the iron gate posts which restrict manouvering. The beds are hard but that's a personal preference.

"Lovely cottage ."
Cosy , comfortable and well maintained. Everything you need is provided even a welcome pack of logs for the woodburner. Would definitely recommend and will be booking again for next year.

"Lovely property in a lovely location."
Ideal for touring many places in North Wales. Highly recommended.
-
"Lovely cottage."
But was very cold when we arrived but no welcome pack to light fire. in bedroom at top of stairs had mould on the wall. Other than that is was very enjoyablex

"A well equipped cottage in a great location."
-
"Second stay here, lovely cottage with good facilities and central location."
Only one bit of advise which is if your staying in the master bedroom it can be a bit noisy with the road outside but keeping windows closed or some ear plugs solve this issue.
-
"Lovely well equipped cottage."
. spotlessly clean.. couldn't fault it.. beautiful location.. highly recommended to anyone.. would definitely book again.
-
"Cosy cottage in an excellent location."
You can hear the river running from the bedrooms, very pleasant at night.
-
"A lovely cottage all round."
Very comfortable and well equipped.

"We regularly stay in self catering cottages and these days most will provide a small welcome pack (bread, biscuits, cake, etc), with tea/coffee/sugar available."
A bit disappointing that after a long journey there was only milk in the fridge. Otherwise, we really enjoyed our stay. Cottage very clean and spacious, and we particularly liked the rear patio area overlooking the river.
-
"We were really pleased with the cottage."
It was modern & tastefully furnished, warm & cosy and exactly as described. Communication with the owner and entry into the property was problem free. We would certainly return to this property ourselves in the future & would highly recommend the location for touring the Snowden area.

"This was quite a last-minute holiday for us and I wasn't sure what to expect, not being familiar with Beddgelert."
We were really impressed with the property: it's close to the centre of the village yet feels fairly secluded, the kitchen is very well provisioned and spacious (bedrooms are fairly small), there is a wonderful patio on the riverbank (although you would need to be very careful if you have young children as there is a large drop without anything to stop them going over). It was very warm at night, which we struggled to regulate, but perhaps that was down to us not using the heaters correctly. Beddgelert is a fabulous place to stay: surrounded by mountains, a beautiful valley, plenty of walking paths, the steam railway and boasting a fabulous ice cream parlour. We would definitely come back.
-
"The Afon Glaslyn rushing by at the end of the garden is the what gives this cottage its main appeal."
The parking was very nearby but could have been a bit tricky had there been other cars in the same area because of the gate posts. The heating worked well and the cottage was warm and snug. Whilst we didn't want to use the open fire, we didn't see the promised starter-pack, just matches. The owner was easy to contact and very responsive so had this been an issue, I'm sure it would have been resolved. Whilst not in the centre of Beddgelert, a pretty five-minute walk gets you there. The beds seemed hard but that's a personal preference. Instructions on operating the ceramic hob and the oven below would be a helpful addition to the booklet but we did figure it out in the end.

"The property was perfectly positioned and had all the amenities that we needed more."
The second double bedroom I was expecting a twin room and it was a double bed but this wasn’t an issue but might be for others if they were expecting a twin. My only real comment is the fact that the front bedroom and bathroom could really benefit from secondary glazing as the road noise through single glazed windows can be very loud when it is large vehicles early in the morning but a pair of ear plugs would help with this ( I forgot mine unfortunately). I would book to come back again and stay here without hesitation, it’s a lovely property finished to a high standard.
-
"Lovely property with an incredible garden."
Comfortable, well furnished and maintained and in a great location. Would absolutely stay again. Had everything we needed for a great stay and was an unexpected bonus to be able to relax in the garden with a book by the river - exactly what we needed to unwind.
-
"Was a lovely cottage in the right location, was clean and tidy very spacious, would like to book again for next year"
-
"Fantastic property in a stunning location there is nothing not to like its 10/10 all round can't wate to return"
-
"Lovely cottage in a great location."
Stunning outlook at the back of the property. Would have loved to have been able to sit with a drink at the outdoor tables but unfortunately it was a bit too cold. Our fault for booking in November! Can't fault the cottage at all. Would definitely recommend.
-
"A very well equipped, clean and comfortable cottage in a wonderful setting backing onto the river."
Would definitely recommend. Thank you.
-
"We had the perfect holiday in a lovely comfortable cottage, the location for us was great, the river at the end of the garden was the highlight absolutely gorgeous, we would highly recommend this cottage."
-
"Immaculately clean."
Lovely riverside cottage.
-
"Lovely cottage."
Spacious, modern and well presented. Amazing to have the river at the bottom of the garden. Fantastic location in the lovely town of beddgelert. Would definitely recommend a stay here

"So we had to pay an extra £40 to come this year instead of last years Covid cancellation."
The same 2 weeks next year would cost us an extra £600. Given that we paid for a 3 bedroom house and got a 1 bed since the owner assumed me and my daughter were gay and made up only one bed I would say you are not getting value for money and look elsewhere. The owner offered to get the cleaners in to make up another bed however every other cottage we have ever stayed in has had all the beds made up regardless which he refused to do in the future. The beds were uncomfortable and so were the sofas and the cottage needed a proper clean. Otherwise the cottage was perfect and well equipped and well situated. Not worth the money though and definitely not next year.

"My stay was very good, beautiful setting."
We have stayed in 3 cottages along the river now, and this is by far the best one so far. my only complaint is that the mattress was so bouncy, everytime my partner turned over I was almost bounced off the bed!! He's a bit larger than me so I didn't get much sleep, lol.
-
"We have stayed at this cottage before and love it."
We found the owner really helpful too. We booked through booking.com and did need to contact Sykes beforehand, unfortunately we weren't very impressed with the contact we had. Our positive feedback is reflective of the cottage rather than the service we received from Sykes.
-
"Nice clean cottage."
Great location. Beautiful views of river and hills from back garden.
-
"What an amazing cottage!"
We are a family of 4 - our two boys are 11 and 6 and we all loved this cottage. We have spent our annual family holidays in North Wales for many years (including pre-children) and this is by far the best accommodation we have stayed in. Of course the stand-out feature from the Sykes photos is the Glaslyn river that runs at the bottom of the back garden. When we actually got there and went out in the back garden it didn't disappoint - amazing to be so close. The river was in full flow when we arrived and sounded fantastic - was so loud that I couldn't hear very well when chatting to the neighbours lol! On that subject the neighbours (on the left as you look at the river) were very friendly. Inside the cottage was excellent as well. Considering the measures in place for coronavirus the kitchen was extremely well equipped. Actually every room in the cottage was excellent. The wood burner was well supplied as well (contrary to a previous review that I read). Beddgelert has always been a favourite destination of ours to visit whilst in Wales so to stay here was a dream come true. Everyone we met in the village was really friendly as has always been our experience in North Wales (the only place where a shopkeeper was rude to us was in Beaumaris...but she wasn't Welsh!). There are some lovely walks around Beddgelert and I recommend going to the local convenience store and buying a book of walks around the area. The Watkin path up Snowdon is within a 5min drive of the cottage and well worth doing if you're used to walking. Not recommended for under 10's though in my opinion - Pyg track or Miner's track are probably better for younger ones or less experienced walkers. In previous years we have had days out where we packed up a picnic and went to a lake/river to spend the day. No need this year as it was in our back garden! We also spent some lovely evenings sat by the river with a wee drink. Communication with the owners was excellent and they were very helpful with advice about where to eat etc. We will certainly be returning!!
-
"The cottage was perfect."
Excellent location.
-
"Had a lovely week at the cottage."
it was lovely and clean and had everything we needed.Nice little touches, the christmas tree was lovely. We enjoyed sitting out and watching the river flow behind the back garden.Plenty of nice places to visit. We will return again soon
-
"This was our 3rd stay at this wonderful, comfy, cozy cottage."
There is everything you need and many extras to make your stay special. The river runs past just at the bottom of the garden from high up in the mountains and is a spectacular sight, especially after a spell of rain. The village has a couple of good pubs and cafes and there is a well appointed general store selling everything you could possibly need. The area has plenty of interesting attractions to keep both old and young happy. We'll be returning!
-
"Fantastic cottage with fantastic views."
The owners have put a lot of love into this cottage. The village is beautiful, we didn't want to leave. Everyone is very friendly. There is one pub that a couple of people commented on, complaining that people spoke Welsh when they walked in. We found them very friendly, they said hello and spoke to us in English, but when they spoke amongst themselves they spoke in Welsh. I do not understand why people get offended about Welsh people speaking Welsh! We thought that it was great that the language is still going strong. Would people be offended if they went to Spain and they spoke Spanish? Maybe they should learn Welsh instead of expecting them to speak English !
-
"The cottage was amazing and being able to sit outside and watch the river flowing so strong after the rains was good."
It Was Central to the walking trails and very comfortable. Will differently stay there again.
-
"The cottage is on a lovely setting, close to the heart of the village which has all the amenities you might want - a village shop, pubs and restaurants."
The cottage itself backs onto the river, & the owners have made the very best of this feature with seating right by the waters edge. Inside its as if the owners have lived in it themselves - they really have thought of everything you might need. A great find!
-
"No can't fault it, very comfortable and well equipped"
-
"Very efficient booking system and good communication in lead up to and after holiday."
Cottage was lovely, well equipped and very comfortable. Will definitely stay there again when we next holiday in the area.
-
"A brilliant family holiday home, great location and had everything we needed!"
-
"Lovely little cottage in a beautiful village, Cottage was well equipped, comfy, very clean just a couple minuets walk from the village."
The views are spectacular and the river running at the back of the cottage is a lovely bonus.
-
"The thing that let this cottage down was the level of cleanliness."
The surfaces in the bathroom, tables etc were all smeary and we got the impression the same cloth was used for all. The towels didn't feel clean, in fact I found some hairs in one. There was only two of us staying in the cottage but it was assumed, wrongly, that we would be sharing a bed. The other bed wasn't made up and we had to ask the owner for a set of bedding as there wasn't any spare left in the cottage. It said in the cottage description on line that there would be a starter pack for the fire but there wasn't anything. The cottage itself was very nicely furnished and in a beautiful setting
-
"The cottage was perfect in every way."
Very well proportioned. Plenty of room. The kitchen was excellent. Loved the fact that dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid and loo rolls were included. The back garden with the noise of the river sets this cottage apart from other cottages we have stayed in. Internally the cottage is finished to a very high standard by someone with a fresh modern look to interior design.
-
"Initial communication regarding key pickup wasn’t clear, but the cottage and location were really excellent."
Thank you.
-
"Great cottage in a lovely spot backing straight onto the river."
Slight issue with the manhole cover in the road directly outside the front door that sounded like someone was knocking on the front door every time a car drive over it, but we sorted it by putting a traffic cone on top of it. Stopped the cars driving over the manhole cover and slowed them down! Also the bins weren't collected even though we put them out the night before the collection day. I found the bed we started in to be a bit on the soft side for me, but that's entirely a personal preference and I slept fine in it. These things being said though, none of them detracted from us having a fantastic stay. Would go back and stay there in a heartbeat. Loved it.
-
"A lovely cottage that was very clean with great home facilities and comforts."
Would definately book again. It didn't affect us as our children are older, but maybe details of this cottage should come with a warning about the open fencing in the back garden down to the river; this was a beautiful feature and our kids loved the access to the water, but it would be a nightmare with young children!!
-
"The cottage was OK, but we have 5 adults and was really to small, specially the lounge area."
beds were small but otherwise fine, very limited sat TV. I ticked met expectations, but only just, it didnt help the village has no real good eateries around, no one serving home cooked meals, all pre packed and nothing very close either, personally would not go back. I must add the rear of the house , kitchen was good, well equipped with spectacular views of the mountains and river, probably suit a smaller party.
-
"A beautiful cottage really well located on the edge of the village."
Really comfortable, warm and welcoming with everything you need. There are loads of activities nearby including walks and access to the Welsh Highlands Railway without having to get in the car. The garden backs on to the river which is wonderful and, in the warmer months, I imagine it will be a great place to sit and relax. Off street parking is great as it can be very difficult to park otherwise as the village is a great attraction.
-
"A beautiful well appointed cottage If I'm being picky the cleaning was not great."
Though the essentials like beds toilets etc. We're OK. .things like cobwebs dust on walls ceilings behind TV. ..that sort of thing Otherwise all was lovely
-
"Lovely cottage, well equipped, clean, great location, with a pretty back garden and patio overlooking the river, with great views, would defiently book again, lovely cottage and great village location."
-
"Comfortable, well equipped cottage with many useful extras eg guide books, laminated OS maps."
Car parking was relatively convenient as well.
-
"We had a fabulous stay."
The cottage was perfect . Ideal location for the village and for touring the area. So lovely to sit in the garden by the river. Highly recommend and look forward to returning
-
"The cottage is very well appointed and in a fabulous location on the edge of Beddgelert village."
-
"Fantastic cottage in a great location."
A real home from home, with everything you need for a week away. Lots of walks right from the door and very close to Snowdon. Village pubs also excellent! Highly recommended and we'd love to come back.

"A great base to explore Snowdonia - cottage was very pretty with all the right ..."
A great base to explore Snowdonia - cottage was very pretty with all the right amenities and a really good standard of internal decor and amenities Highly recommend a stay
-
"Superior cottage to others we have stayed in previously, well appointed, good wifi and great location."
-
"The location of this cottage was fantastic."
Right in the village with the stream at the back of the garden and the hill backing onto the river, which meant we could watch the local sheep and wildlife in the Morning. We saw a resident heron patrolling the river and keeping watch on a rock over the stream. The cottage itself was comfortably furnished to a high standard and had a well equipped kitchen and felt very homely. The owners had supplied information leaflets providing details on the local activities and places of interest to visit together with a handy information book on the cottage itself with details of how to use the heating and hot water systems, which was very useful. The village pubs and restaurants (Hebog in particular) were very friendly and the food was of a high standard, the local shop was also well stocked with friendly staff. We were lucky with the weather which meant we could enjoy the local walks and take the recommended walk past the local cooper mine around the sunning lake which we would highly recommend. The whole experience was very relaxing and enjoyable with lots of activities to keep you occupied. We also took the mountain railway up to the top of Snowdon which had amazing views. If you do this wrap up as it is a different climate at the top and a fierce wind. We would highly recommend this cottage and will definitely be coming back in the future. A big thank you to the owners and Skyes friendly and helpful staff for making the booking experience very effortless. Michelle & Christopher Winchester
