Clean and well furnished, with comfortable beds and a sunny, secluded garden. A great base for exploring the area and, if you don't feel like cooking, or just fancy a cheeky pint, the Eagle & Child is just 40 steps away (we counted!). We will certainly be returning. Thanks

  • "The cottage was lovely."

Clean, tidy and well set up,the village is just perfect and quiet. However we are so sorry to say that there are 2 major issues that need attention. The main double bed was absolutely awful. I have bruises on my hips, elbows and shoulders from the springs poking through. We tried to alleviate it by laying blankets and pillows over it but to no joy. Without trying to sleep on it you won’t know. The other was the smell from the oil tank. There must either be a leak or spillage from a recent fill up.

Thanks for your feedback Simon. Glad you liked the cottage, sorry you found the mattress uncomfortable. I’m sorry you didn’t mention it whilst you were here as I would have gladly supplied a mattress topper or changed the mattress. No one has mentioned it before and when the bed is being made I’ve not noticed anything visibly wrong with the mattress, so thanks for bringing it to my attention. The oil tank was looked at yesterday. We think a slight spill during delivery is the likely cause of any smell around the tank. Property Owner

.. my mum and I couldn't have been more pleased with our choice and the lovely welcome we received. It was unfortunate that heavy snowfall hampered our stay, however, the cottage owners and the people in the village couldn't have been more helpful. I would absolutely recommend staying at this property ... it delivers on every level - thank you!

  • "The cottage was very comfortable with 2 seating areas inside."

The conservatory was our preferred seating area as it was much lighter than the cosy lounge. As mentioned in the accomodation information, the stairs are steep and you do have to take care when leaving the double bedroom. But it's a cottage and it's quirky and you soon become used to things. Outside there are 3 deep steps to the lawned garden which is completely private. The cottage was very clean and had lots of extras. The owner was very welcoming and helpful. We made use of a walking guide we found on the bookshelf and also visited the pub opposite which was friendly. Only ate there once and would recommend. Lots to do round and about - Prestatyn (try Crispy Cod for fish and chips) and Bodnant Gardens are but two. A highly enjoyable, relaxing 4 night stay and i would highly recommend the cottage. If you're lucky you might catch a glimpse of the peacock which seems to live in a neighbours garden!
