There are loads of interesting places to visit nearby and plenty of places to eat. Lower Lodge is somewhere we would love to return in the future. Hosts Mark & Lisa were really helpful. Loved the Games Room and the main TV in the lounge.Additional bonus with the Hot Tub, Shower Room and Sauna. Plenty of seating both inside and outside the property. It is a real credit to the owners.

Usually when you go back to a holiday home for the 2nd time you feel it wasn’t as good as the first time but this was not the case with lower lodge. Lower lodge is spotlessly clean, hot tub well maintained, plenty of amenities for 3 generations and the most friendly host you could ever wish to meet. Looking forward to returning for a 3rd time

  • "We have had a lovely week’s holiday at Lower Lodge, the house is very central to the many different areas to explore, Shrewsbury, Welshpool, Powys Castle NT, Attingham Park NT."

The house is spacious and very comfortable with every facility provided for our stay. The TV in the lounge was a great surprise, it was massive and great for family viewing. WiFi signal was good and we were able to stream with only occasional buffering. The kitchen is well equipped and the addition of a drinks fridge in the games room was a real bonus. The garden is amazing with a large patio with a dining area, a lounge area and an amazing hot tub. There is a brick built area to hold disposable bbqs. The games room with a pool table was great fun as was the table tennis & dart's board. The owners were very responsive to any queries that we had and on hand if you needed any assistance. Thank you Mark & Lisa we love your house. The only slight negative was the house is very close to the road which was busier than we expected and you could hear traffic noise. This did not detract from our great experience, but worth being aware of. The house and gardens surpassed our expectations and we would highly recommend it for a great family holiday.

The house is equipped with absolutely everything one could possibly need for a truly relaxing holiday. Spotlessly clean, with lavish furnishings, and, most importantly, very comfortable beds! The hot tub, pool table, table tennis table and darts board provided hours of entertainment, whilst our grandchildren revelled in the games consoles! The hosts were extremely helpful yet discrete. Thank you. We certainly intend to return in the future.

We have had the best time and didn't want to leave! The Lodge was absolutely amazing! The attention to detail was second to none and the lodge was literally spotless. The Lodge was beautifully decorated for Christmas which was a lovely addition to our stay. Mark came to say hello and introduce himself the day after we arrived which was lovely to chat to him and Lisa was nothing but helpful over the phone when I had a ton of questions prior to us arriving. The games room, play room for the kids, the hot tub and sauna were well equipped as was the Lodge over all. The views were to die for and we will miss waking up to them! We have absolutely no complaints at all! We would 100% recommend a stay at Lower Lodge and we would love to come back again! Thanks again Mark & Lisa! x

With absolutely no neighbors in site, it's a perfect private getaway with some exceptional views. I was pleasantly surprised by the technology within the house, which was better than the majority of houses I've stayed in, not something I expected for a house so isolated. The hosts seemed nice, Mark introduced himself on our 2nd day and with the exception of when he come around (pre-arranged) to cut the grass and maintain the hot tub, we were left to ourselves. All in all, very happy with the property and would recommend or go back without any hesitation!

We've had a fantastic week, and the couple of times we needed to contact Mark and Lisa they were so attentive we couldn't have wished for more. Thank you, we'll be back!

  • "A great stay in an excellent house."

We were a family of 6 adults and 2 children. Everything was clean and tidy when we arrived, and there were a reasonable number of pans, dishes etc for our use, although having experience of previous holiday homes I brought my own knife and extra-large glass dish (we cook a lot). We were glad of the mop provided to deal with the wet room floors and lobby to the hot tub, which all got very damp with use. The owner Mark was friendly and helpful. The facilties of the house made up for the fact that the February half term weather wasn't really on our side - only strong sleety winds drove us from the hot tub! On the better days we walked to Admiral Rodney's pillar and the Stiperstones (both with amazing views); we also visited a flooded Shrewsbury and Blists Hill museum (twice). The only downside for us was the lack of any public footpath or pavement to the property, which meant you had a short drive to the village, or to start a walk. But this was a minor quibble, and we'd certainly recommend both the house and its location to anyone.

The owners are wonderful (and so is the homemade lemon drizzle cake they leave for you when you arrive) and on hand to support if there are any problems... in our case extra gas for the fire pit! The fire pit is an excellent idea to continue the summers evening well in to the early hours of the next morning. The facilities are great, hot tub, pool table, table tennis table.
