"The cottage was excellent in every way."
Warm, cosy and everything provided. A great private setting and ideally placed for exploring the Llyn Peninsular and Snowdonia. Owner Sian was very welcoming and friendly. Would thoroughly recommend the property!!

"Pen Y Bont is a beautifully restored cottage set in lovely surroundings."
We were so cosy all week; coming home from busy days exploring the local area to a warm and comfortable house. The cottage had everything that we needed for the week and we were able to relax and enjoy sitting by the fire, playing pool in the second sitting room or outside star gazing.
-
"Fantastic, spacious cottage in a wonderful location."
Everything you would need when staying away from home. Friendly welcome. Good array of leaflets on what's on in the area. Thank you for a lovely break.

"Wow what a cottage a credit to the owner , equiped with everything you need fantastic fireplace nice and cosy when lit nice and warm we had a great stay , good weather greeted by local cows and calfs every morning bonus ."
Only a couple of issues that should be addressed the pool table in games room is not really playable , light fitting in kitchen contantly flickering , two lights in fireplace not working , could do with larger bath towels , would make this cottage perfect
Hi. I'm sorry that you had issues with the lights. As I said during our meet and greet, you only had to call and we would have come over to fix them! However, I'm so glad that you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again. Property Owner

"Lovely to meet the owner initially, but no response to phone call and text with queries beforehand."
Also no response to phone call and text when we had to leave early, leaving the property unlocked.
Hello. I'm not aware of any missed calls as we always try to be on hand to help with any queries. I'm sorry that you couldn't get through. I will call the agent to ensure that the correct phone number was given. Thank you. Property Owner

"The property was lovely and well presented, The owners have done an amazing job bringing the property up to date for a nice holiday break."
Only minor issues were, Upstairs toilet rocked while sitting on it and two low toilet rolls on arrival. Main problem was the broadband router not working, Now for my partner & i this isn’t really a problem but with two teenagers and poor WiFi signal at the property it did cause rather a lot of stress that we both could of done without while trying to relax & unwind whilst on hols. We did contact the owner, Who was helpful in coming over and bringing a box of chocolates & trying to fix it but to no avail we were told engineers would fix the problem by Tuesday. Our stay was Friday to Friday and unfortunately had no broadband in this entire time nor did we then hear of any update from the owner regrading this which was also rather a let down and depressing for what was meant to be an enjoyable holiday.

"Spent a fantastic week at the cottage."
It immediately felt like home and was so clean and the kitchen was well equipped. The surroundings were very peaceful, just the sounds of the river, the cows and the birds. Really well situated for Caernarfon (plenty of supermarkets) as well as Snowdon and Portmeirion.

"Pen-y-Bont is a stunning property which was well equipped and spotlessly clean."
The owners were great and although we didn't actually meet face to face, had left all of the additional things we requested (cot, high chair, etc) out for us on arrival and were helpful and responsive via text during our stay. Overall and wonderful experience and we would highly recommend this property.

"Beautiful cottage in lovely location."

"Pen-y-bont is a lovely cottage and very spacious."
We appreciated the Welsh cakes and juice awaiting us after a very difficult drive in atrocious weather. Our Host was very friendly and popped in to see us after we arrived. It is in a lovely rural location with a 17th century bridge and stream close by, and close to Snowdonia national park, Caernarfon Castle, Portmeirion Village where ‘The Prisoner’ was filmed. We also went across to Anglesey and saw South Stack, very picturesque and Beaumaris castle and the N.T property Plas Newydd. We had a great time and would not hesitate to recommend to friends.

"This is a wonderful place to stay."
It is so peaceful and picturesque. The owners were so helpful and kind. The beach was so close and there was so much to do in the area. Thank you, we had a fantastic stay.

"We've stayed at pen y bont several times."
Love this cottage and its location. There is something for everyone and plenty of room for us to enjoy ourselves, regardless of the weather. As usual the cottage catered for all of our needs. Enjoyed watching the Birdlife and especially the bats in the evenings. Everything was clean, but we encountered a few problems with the showers. Mr and Mrs Evans were very apologetic (thank you for the lovely wine and chocolates), and we're keen to try and solve them immediately. Thank you for another wonderful visit. Looking forward to our next one. Xx

"Excellent property (VERY spacious and on the whole clean ."
... a few things need some TLC & we did have to ask the owner to clean the oven which was disgustingly greasy and dirty). Slightly difficult to find (look on Google Earth before going). Always use the entry off the A487 near the bridge and go through the village as from the other way it's a NARROW lane ...don't risk it !). Entry about 50 yards from the narrow entry gate is in need of some care to stop cars bottoming in the centre of the wheel tracks. There were no instructions on how to operate anything. Some radiators hot/some cold too ... nothing to do with the thermostats on each radiator. Note that stairs are quite narrow and steeper than usual steps. The property is well located to visit places. Would definitely use this property again.

"A spacious and well appointed cottage in a quiet location, in a beautiful area close to the Snowdonia mountains, historic castles and the coast and beaches of the Llyn peninsula."
Recommended. The property would benefit from an information booklet listing local amenities , eg nearest supermarket, eating places etc A tumble dryer would also be a useful addition.

"Just returned from a week at the farmhouse."
Received a lovely welcome from the owners, who brought Welsh cakes and wine. The pool table was great for keeping our husbands entertained. Location was great, not far from Abersoch and Caernarfon. We had a great week. Facilities were excellent in the house. Would definitely like to return xx

The owners were welcoming and friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. Would recommend- diolch o galon!

"Faults: Both hob extractor light bulbs out."
One kitchen wall cabinet under neon light out. One lounge wall light bulb out. One Inglenook niche light bulb out. Downstairs shower tray trap needs cleaning out, the tray fills with water. Upstairs loo roll holder loose. Also, the rear garden would benefit from a picnic table.

"Cottage was lovely, spacious and comfortable."
It had everything we needed as a family of 5, and such a peaceful place. Garden was great for the kids to play in. Beautiful area, so much to see and do within a short distance. Highly recommended.

"Lovely cottage in an idyllic setting surrounded by beautiful countryside and only 15 minutes stroll to the shingle beach also with fabulous views."
The cottage was well equipped and very comfortable. We left with recharged batteries but will miss the nightly display by the local bats as well as the amazing clear starlit night skies. We would certainly return again .
-
"It’s a lovely cottage in a beautiful part of the world."

"Pen y bont was a beautiful cottage and we would definitely stay again in the future."
Within reach to all of the amenities we wanted for our holiday, the coast, mountains and local attractions. A very beautiful and peaceful location for all of the family.
-
"We are returning visitors to this beautiful cottage in an ideal location with good access to the Llyn Peninsula, Anglesey, Snowdonia and lots of activities to offer (from beaches to mountains)."
Cottage is clean and well equipped. The cordial, welsh cakes and preserves are a lovely touch. The family are very attentive and welcoming and always happy to chat. We love the wildlife surrounding the cottage: birds, bats and cows and would recommend for anyone seeking a peaceful location, but options to do as little or as much you want.
-
"Sykes staff went out of their way to help us book this last minute holiday."
The lovely, well equipped family cottage has an excellent location for attractions & beaches on the Llyn peninsula.

"Lovely cottage, well presented, fantastic inglenook room and separate lounge ..."
Lovely cottage, well presented, fantastic inglenook room and separate lounge area with pool table, TV and games perfect for kids, would recommend to anyone looking for somewhere rural, near a river, 10 Mins from pebble beach, surrounded by rolling hills and mountain backdrop, really homely with the wood burner, spacious well equipped kitchen and really well positioned in terms of Snowdonia and surrounding Caernarfon and north west cost, lovely welcome from the owners, to be honest we can’t wait to go back

"This is one of the best holiday cottages I have ever had and I would have given it 5 stars except for a few negatives."
I booked the property for 5 adults, myself and my three children and my daughters partner. One thing that drew me to the property was that it had a sofa bed downstairs which could be made up so that a living room off the lounge could be used as a bedroom. The owners made this up for me but on arrival explained that it wasn't very comfortable and could not have any sheets on it as there's no mattress/cushions to fix it under. Consequently, my two sons (27 and 19) had to share the small bedroom with two bunk beds. They didn't mind too much but as we were lucky to have hot weather they did not sleep well in such a small hot room. Additionally, we discovered after a few days that the front door did not lock properly. You raised the handle and turned the key and it appeared to lock but if you pushed the handle down hard it would simply open again. You had to try several times to ensure the door was locked properly and so it may not have been properly secured during our first few days. Fortunately, the property is in a very quiet location with no passing traffic. I raised some other issues with the owners on the first day and these were promptly attended to. Overall, we had a great week and loved the cottage, if the above issues are addressed it would definitely be 5 star.

Over and above our expectations.

"Fabulous cottage, great location , loved the chocolate, welsh cakes and Welsh ..."
Fabulous cottage, great location , loved the chocolate, welsh cakes and Welsh jams , the fire was lit when we arrived which was lovely
-
"Poor WiFi; oven was dirty, no fire lighters and small amount of kindling and large logs, difficult to make a fire and was cool downstairs but hot upstairs."
No salt.we enjoyed our stay though, loved Porthmadog and Beddgelert.
-
"A very characterful but comfortable cottage in a tranquil but easily accessible location."
The photographs on the website to not do the property full justice. There should be a shot of the lawn, patio and picnic/barbeque area overlooking the adjoining field.
-
