  • "It's a charming holiday cottage in the beautiful location of Bethesda and an excellent launchpad to explore north Wales."

The property itself is nicely renovated two adjoining houses: On one side are the three bedrooms (double and twin upstairs with a bathroom; king downstairs leading to the conservatory), and on the other side is a snug leading to a kitchen and shower room downstairs and a living room upstairs that's access via a second staircase. It's an unusual layout and you can't walk from the living room to the upstairs bedrooms without walking downstairs and then upstairs again, but it works extremely well. Those with young children may want to bring a child monitor because from the kitchen or living room you wouldn't hear your children in the bedrooms, but equally you have the reassurance that they won't be disturbed. The owners kindly provided a travel cot which can be placed in the snug if required: This is in the centre of the house and would be heard from both the living room/kitchen as well as the king bedroom downstairs. The entire property was nicely decorated and very clean. It's clear that the owners take care of it and it feels like a lovely home from home. I particularly enjoyed the living room - a lovely space large space to relax in the evening, with a balcony from the living room where you can take in the views. Outside of the conservatory and kitchen is a lovely seating area and hot tub too. This is a gorgeous place to eat outside enjoy the views even more. I believe you're looking at Elidir Fawr with Snowdon in the background. I think you can also see the Carneddau range as you look round further to your left. Parking is easy as the property has its own long driveway down the side (which is helpful when loading/unloading the car - not too far to walk). We only had two cars but I expect you could easily fit three or four cars if needed. The location worked extremely well for us too: We're keen hikers and you're just 10 mins from Tryfan and about 25 mins from Pen-y-Pass for Snowdon. It's only 10-15 mins to get to Bangor (which has large supermarkets) and it's an excellent base to explore Anglesey too. We didn't have much time to spend in Bethesda itself but there's a Tesco Express and a child's playground etc - it seemed well served if you don't want to venture too far. The owners are brilliant: Very helpful and communicative, providing all of the necessary information in advance of your stay. They're exactly who you would hope to run your holiday cottage. They're also based next door to the holiday cottage which is reassuring should you have any problems, although we didn't get to speak to them too much as we were busy enjoying Wales and had no issues to discuss. We had a wonderful week and I would happily book this cottage again in future.

The house is so comfortable and clean and the owners had kindly left for us some delicious home-made scones and jam. There is parking space for at least four cars. They had switched on the hot tub as we requested and sitting in it on the wide deck, looking at Snowden and the surrounding countryside was a great pleasure. We have no hesitation in recommending this house. Thank you to the owners, who obviously care very much for their holiday tenants.

Gorgeous sunsets from the balcony and patio and fascinating views over the town and valley and across to the quarry and Zipworld and the hills around. A fabulous base for walking/hiking; more gentle and sheltered walks around the village and valley, beautiful walks on the many footpaths around the local hills and big hikes on the Carneddi and Glyder mountains with stunning views across Snowdonia and the North coast/Anglesey, the area being almost as high as Snowdon but very much more peaceful! I highly recommend. The owners are the perfect hosts, nothing was too much trouble and they ensured we had everything we could possibly need! The property is cleaned to a very high standard and the care and attention, particularly to Covid regulations, is amazing. A 5 minute walk from the property allows you to join on the Welsh Slate Trail, it’s 89 miles long but you just turn round when your ready. This includes breathtaking views! There is a bus down the road (owners kindly provided times in the welcome book), and there are many wonderful walks in nearby Anglesey! The hot tub is a perfect addition, no matter what the weather is (yes we even enjoyed it in the rain!) and is throughly enjoyable. The picturesque hills in the background makes it so special!! The property also includes a washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher! These are great additions which helped with washing dishes and ensured we could get all of our washing done rather than returning home with a suitcase full! The decor in the property is lovely! A fabulous taste and very modern. There are so many utensils in the kitchen, and it’s clear that the kitchen accessories/toilet accessories are a top quality good brand! The WiFi was fabulous, never once lost connection and a fantastic speed. The TV was great, and access to streaming services included! There are so many personal touches which the owners have done, a little gifts left for us. This shows the clear compassion that the owners have, showing this is not just a business to them. The little welcome gifts (including homemade cake!), the dishwasher & washing machine tablets, and the little chocolates which were left just show how much genuine care, time and passion that they put into the place. I would highly recommend this stay, and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. The previous reviews and pictures persuaded us to stay here, and I wanted to further support these and ensure prospecting holidaymakers that you won’t regret this decision! Thank you so much Arwel and Delyth for having us, you should be so proud of the fabulous holiday home you have made! Diolch ♥️
