  • "The house is ok."

Fairly nice but noticeable damage and marks on the walls and radiators. Needs a proper freshen up to make it look decent again but the cleanliness is disgusting. We walked in to find used bedding stuffed on the floor in some bedrooms and scrunched up on the bed in others. No beds had been made. Dirty towels had been left in the corner of all bathrooms. The kitchen was filthy with grease and crumbs. There was out of date milk in the fridge. The air fryer was absolutely filthy - looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months. There were stains left in the toilet and the inside of the toilet seat. There was also a used bar of soap stuck to a flannel on the sink. We then found medication under the sofa, mouldy milk in the coffee machine and dirty bits floating round in the hot tub. The owner does not live nearby so is not present, he hardly contacted me when I raised the alarm of the issue. I had to keep ringing him and he even started to ignore my calls so I had to ring off another phone - which funnily enough, he answered straight away. He wasn’t able to get us a cleaner until the next day - meaning we had to clean the property ourselves, make our own beds and put the towels in the washing machine ourselves. In addition to this we also hoovered and disinfected the property. We cleaned the thick grease off the hob and baking trays and cleaned the bathrooms - there was no way we could’ve lived in it for a night until the cleaners were able to come. The cleaners came the next day (which at this time was pointless as we had to clean ourselves) and told us that this is actually the second time the owner hasn’t had the listing cleaned in between visitors which says a lot. It really is such a shame because the previous reviews were great so I’m not sure what’s gone wrong recently but to be honest I wouldn’t kennel my dog in that house given the state we walked in to. We paid £880 for two nights, had to clean the property ourselves and make our own beds and the owner gave us a pathetic amount of ‘good will’ compensation back which amounted to £205 - not even half of one nights stay let alone two. Basically, avoid at all costs unless you like dirty holiday homes. I have all the proof in many pictures, phone calls and text messages so what I have written cannot be argued and is the absolute truth.

  • "Definitely some good and bad."

Good - hot tub is great, there are some nice touches like the coffee machine, big tv, and lovely dining room table. Location is brilliant. Property is spacious and warm, plenty of hot water!! Not so good - the property was not clean. Air fryer trays had grease on. Long hair in the hot tub. Used earplugs under the bed. Used tissue in the wardrobe. Used bar of soap in the shower. Oven trays had caked on grease and therefore smelled when oven used. Kitchen lights were dusty / greasy and had cobwebs. Skirting boards had built up dirt. Of course, these are minor issues individually but did combine to spoil our enjoyment of the property. There were also some longer term maintenance issues in that a lot of the paintwork is scuffed and marked. There is also a lot of black mould in the en suite shower (shower tray joint and lower tiles). This is a shame as the property itself has real potential but does need a deep clean and some tlc to bring it up to scratch.

  • "We loved our week away, the property has lots to offer."

Ample space, huge sofa with great facilities, we took a dip in the tub daily. The location is fantastic with beautiful coastal walks along the beach and rocks, with several stop of points to eat/drink. The only criticism is that the beds weren’t that comfortable, but that didn’t stop us enjoying our stay. If we could suggest any additions it would be a small blind on the side window of the lounge as the neighbours staying next door were a little curious. Again this did not ruin our break and would recommend and return in the future. P.S - sorry we could not update the guest book as we did not take a pen :( Thank you x
