Everything we needed for our stay was provided lovely crockery, glassware and cutlery. The furnishings were thoughtful and of good quality. The hot tub is a lovely touch. • "What can I say."

Hosts Greg and Ursula were only too happy to ensure that our stay was as pleasurable as possible at Bryn Aber Back. If you want a chat Greg’s your man, as he’s very knowledgeable about the area. The property is immaculate, the beds the most comfortable I have ever slept on while holiday inn. Everything you need is supplied other than food, but Ursula made sure we had essential’s like milk, tea coffee, cheese and the most amazing homemade spiced marmalade. We had good weather so the hot tub was used on a regular basis. As we took our 9 month old black Labrador it was such a bonus having both the front and rear gardens totally enclosed and safe for her to be allowed the freedom to roam in. The on site electric car charging point was an added bonus (very small fee for the electricity used), as North Wales has few fast charging points, or any charging points come to that. We really couldn’t fault anything with the property or the hosts, we had an absolute ball, Ursula had some really good banter with us, so friendly and helpful an absolute star. If you’re looking for a peaceful base to explore this North Wales peninsula and surrounding area you can’t go wrong by staying in Bryce Aber Bach, plus the scenery is out of this world. We shall definitely return in the near future, it’s that good. Thanks Ursula and Greg for making this such a fantastic holiday for the 4 of us and the dog. Alan C.

Thank you for the lovely review. We're so happy that you all enjoyed your stay. The place is Beautiful throughout, the WiFi was brilliant, the main bedroom is so spacious and luxurious. The closed garden was a MUST for us, and this cottage has exactly that, no where for our small pooch to escape, so we could sit back and relax in the hot tub, brilliant stay and already looking to book again for the next school holidays, thank you both so much !

Thanks for the delightful review, we are so happy that you had a great stay at Bryn Aber Bach enjoyed the facilities and all that the area has to offer. We Know decent broadband is a must for a holiday let cottage these days. So we were happily surprised when we moved to such a rural location and discovered that the cottage has access full 900mb fiber broadband. We look forward to welcoming you back again in the future. • "We have had the most amazing holiday at Bryn Aber Bach!"

We visited with our 7 year old little boy in late July, and fell lucky with the weather. Our hosts, Ursula and Greg were the loveliest people, and nothing was too much trouble for them. This made our stay all the nicer. The information folder was also very detailed and helpful in learning more about the area and choosing where to visit. Bryn Aber Bach is a beautiful cottage with lots of character, which has been designed and decorated to a high standard. We especially loved the nespresso machine, the wood burner in the lounge, and the gas bbq and hot tub in the back garden. The cottage is perfectly situated in a quaint picturesque village in beautiful countryside, which is a short drive to many lovely beaches, each with views of mountains. Pwllheli, Criccieth, Abersoch and Harlech are all great beaches, and we also had a day trip to Portmeirion which was magical. We would thoroughly recommend booking this cottage. Thank you Ursula and Greg ☺️

Heating it working so the cottage was really cold. Boiler made a an horrendous noise and kept us awake until 4.15am until hubby turned it off at the mains. We slept in our clothes and bedding felt Damp. Heating back on next day after owner got it sorted, an apology was made but we felt it was t enough. So tired after the night before but we were looking forward to a good. If hrs sleep and a lie in. Not a chance! Grave yard near back garden and they starting cutting the grass on a Sunday morning at 9.00. Not there fault I know but obviously it wound me up. We packed up the car and came home early!

Thank you for your review and we are obviously very sorry that you did not have a great stay at Bryn Aber Bach. Also apologies for the delay in responding as we are 'still' waiting for a response from the Council regarding the ridiculous timing of the hedge trimming. We suspect it was a private contractor taking it upon themselves to carry out the work when it suited them regardless of the disturbance it caused everyone. We are also sorry the boiler stopped working on your first night. We have the boiler serviced regularly by our oil provider every March. Obviously things can and do go wrong in all homes now and again, regardless of the preventative maintenance put in place. We did get the boiler working again in the morning. This was mainly due to replacing the fault thermostat with our own house one. We live next door to Bryn Aber Bach, as mentioned on the Sykes web site. We make great efforts to respect guests' privacy. However as we are close by we do make a point of saying hello when guests first arrive. Also if we happen to arrive home at the same time that guests return to the cottage, we will acknowledge them and say hello. We feel it would be rude to simply ignore guests as we pass. An advantage of living close to the cottage is that we are on hand should any issues arise and we are happy for guests to knock if they have any issues or if they are just looking for a great restaurant or dog friendly beach. Another is that we are always able to do our own cleaning and laundry for every party of guests we have staying. Bed linen is always ironed and stored in our laundry cupboard before we make the beds at each guest change over. This allows us to make sure the cottage is exactly how we want it and that all linen is clean, dry and ready for our guests. We never send linen away or use external cleaning companies. We don’t think anyone can absolutely guarantee that a property won’t have a problem on very rare occasions, be it a holiday let cottage or own homes, but again we are sorry you felt you had cut your stay short.. We did buy something by way of an apology but obviously did not have the chance to present it. Property Owner

The hot tub was a welcome treat after a day out. There are so many things to do out and about. Snowdon isn’t too far either. The hosts were so lovely and offered help if we had needed it at anytime. The beds were comfortable and the main bedroom is HUGE ! The other double room is also very comfortable and a nice size. Both on suite. Lovely venue, welcome package and greeting off the owner. However upon opening the hot tub on the first night, we were greeted by a dirty green mark on the tide line on two sides. We cleaned it, mentioned it to the owner who offered to get her husband round to which we declined. However when the car wasn’t there, he entered the property to check not realising guests were there. This was not appreciated and felt an invasion of our privacy. Would have appreciated contact when hosts knew we were in the home. The only other feedback would be a black out blind Is needed in velux window with en-suite shower & for hosts to ensure previous guests have put their recycling out to main drive gate as requested. We were greeted with full recycling that didn’t smell good due to being two weeks worth.

Thank you for your review. As is apparent from the photos of our cottage garden the area with the hot tub is completely enclosed and private. When guests arrive, and if we are permitted (which we were not in this case), we do explain that we are required to check and test the hot tub regularly. As well as always wanting guests to enjoy the hot tub safely this is also a legal requirement from the Health & Safety Executive. We offer to either make the check while the guests are at the cottage or to wait until they are out for the day, so as not to disturb them. While the lack of cars on the cottage driveway is a good indicator it is no guarantee that some guests may not still be in the cottage. Therefore our process is to knock loudly, wait twenty seconds and knock again. Only then after another wait would we unlock the door open and call out. Then only when the cottage is clearly empty would we enter. In this case we were met at the front door by our guest. We offered to call back later but were invited in and we were able to check the hot tub and add additional chemicals. Regarding bins. All recyclable refuse is collected on a Friday morning. This is ideal for guests staying weekly as they will always arrive to empty recycling bins on Friday afternoon. Non recyclable waste is also collected on a Friday but only three weekly, which in my humble opinion is too long a wait and something I think many people can relate to. For guests arriving midweek for a short break these outside bins will obviously have waste from the guests who stayed before them. Which was the case in this instance. Recycling bins are never left for two weeks and as mentioned are always collected weekly. We do provide a large three part pedal bin in the porch for the different types of waste, a food compost caddy and a container for glass which is under the sink. They are all clearly marked with the type of waste they accept. These internal bins are always emptied and cleaned between each guest changeover. Due to the three weekly cycle for non recyclable refuse, we use wheelie bin deodorant and also provide a refuse sack in the non recyclable pedal bin and spares under the sink if required. We also received a welcome basket which had, dog treats, brownies, marmalade etc which we thought was a great touch. A cot, baby gates and high chair we all provided for our 2 year old, all of which were in an impeccable condition. Beautifully decorated and extremely clean, you can tell Greg and Ursula take pride in their holiday let. They are extremely accommodating and when mentioned about dairy free alternatives, they provided us with a vegan welcome hamper which we weren’t expecting, a lovely added touch. The garden is definitely enclosed, we have chihuahuas and have had a few cottages say it’s enclosed but they still find a way out, it was a nice peace of mind to be in the hot tub and not wonder if the dogs are escaping into the village. Their welcome pack of information is fantastic for walks and places to visit, you don’t need to plan ahead at all. Can’t recommend this place enough and wish we stayed longer, will definitely be booking again.

Thank you for your very kind review and we are glad your two little ones stayed safe in the rear garden. We appreciate we are located deep in the rural heart of the Llyn Peninsula and while there is a well stocked convenience store about three miles away, we like to provide some essentials and a few treats (for both people and pets) for the end of what may be a long drive. It's important to provide things our guests are happy to eat, hence we check in advance as to any preferences they may have. In fact they (Greg & Ursula) were both really nice people, got us sorted in the cottage and were able to recommend a good pub for lunch. We stayed as a couple, an elderly relative joining us later in the stay and had our two dogs with us. The cottage catered for all, and there wasn't anything that we needed that wasn't on hand. We absolutely loved our stay at the cottage it has everything you need for a holiday home. The cottage is really well equipped and wasn’t short of anything we needed. The bbq and hot tub were fabulous and we found that we ate in more often than we thought we would! We travelled with our two girls who loved having their en-suite in their room. The cottage was lovely and clean and arrived to a lovely welcome pack from Greg and Ursula. Greg and Ursula live in the main house just next to the cottage, they are friendly and able to offer great advice on the local area, things to do and places worth a visit. The welcome email they send a few days prior to arrival is fantastic it has lots of information, history of the cottage and even some hints on speaking Welsh! One thing to consider prior to travel during peak season is to book restaurants prior to your arrival, if like us, you like to see how you feel on the day we found many places were fully booked (we were also limited due to having the dog with us) although this didn’t bother us as we were happy to stay at home! The village of Llangybi is very peaceful, steeped in history with some lovely walks with the dog, which is just what we wanted from our break. The location is a great base to explore the Llyn peninsular and surrounding areas. We were lucky with the weather our week and spent most days on different beaches (which most are dog friendly or have dog friendly sections). One thing we did do was visit to Glasfryn activity centre if you are travelling with kids, there is plenty to keep them entertained and is fun for adults too! we had a fabulous holiday at Bryn Aber Bach and can’t recommend it enough, we will be back next year!

Thank you for the great review. We are so happy that you had a great time staying at Bryn Aber Bach. The Glasfryn Activity Centre is indeed a bit of a hidden gem. Greg & Ursula with their dog, Bella are the lovely owners who were really friendly and helpful…they left us a lovely welcome pack in the cottage on arrival too. The cottage is ideally situated, it is so peaceful in the evening but very close to many places for visiting. We visited Caernarfon, Criccieth, Porthmadog, Abersoch, Snowdonia, Beddgelert & Black Rock sands on our holiday. All these places were amazing & so beautiful. We also had a go at archery & clay pigeon shooting at Glasfryn Parc which is only about 3 miles from the cottage (they also have water activities). We would highly recommend booking any restaurants in advance, especially at weekends as we didn’t get in a few due to peak season & we were a family of 3 (can only book if there are 5 in a few places we tried). Our evenings relaxing in the hot tub will be missed! I did cook a few times in the cottage and there is everything you could possibly need available to you. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay & we would love to return at some point.

Thank You for the great review and we're glad you managed to cram in so much fun stuff. As you have mentioned restaurants do get booked up during the high season. The cleanliness was impeccable as were all the facilities, everything you could wish to use in the kitchen is on hand and no detail as been left out even down to everything Dotty needed, The bedrooms are wonderfully decorated and comfortable as are both bathrooms. The Hot tub is absolutely amazing - we spent many an hour warming ourselves listening to the owls and other woodland creatures. Ursula and Greg were on hand for anything that was needed (We ran out of logs one evening and they were more than happy to supply more) but kept a respectful distance even offering to Doggy sit when we went to Portmeirion for the afternoon. Their communication was great and non intrusive - for example, messaging us before coming round to check the hot tub. On Christmas Day we were given some home made chocolate truffles which were absolutely delicious! We thoroughly felt at home whilst staying and cannot wait to return, it is a beautiful cottage, fantastically decorated and catered for and we cannot wait until we can visit again - we really did not want to go home! After staying in many self catering cottages over the years this is by far the best equipped, cleanest, furnished and friendliest place we have stayed. Thank you so much Ursula, Greg and Bella -we hope to return soon. Craig, Sarah, Jack and Dotty.

Thank you for your lovely comments Sarah. We enjoyed meeting you all and look forward to seeing you all again soon. Happy New year. Ursula, Greg and Bella Property Owner

  • "Cottage is beautiful."

Cosy and clean with everything you could ever need. Everything was brand new, they provided milk, bread, butter, cheese, chocolate, coffee, sugar etc which was very thoughtful along with a card to greet us personally. Hot tub is huge. The surrounding area is beautiful. The washer drier and dishwasher was very handy. Owners live next door which we didn't know prior to booking as we like to see nobody on our secluded holidays but they were very curtious. They provided for our dogs too. Treats, blankets, poo bags and dishes. Which was a lovely touch. Only thing I would say is that the listing says two smart televisions but it's only the one which is in the bedroom. But that's only a small bit of feedback as everything else was spot on perfect. Cottage and the rooms down to the carpets were very comfortable and well done.

Thanks so much for your lovely review. We are really pleased that you enjoyed your stay. Thank you also for pointing out about the TV. The listing has now been updated to reflect a smart TV in the lounge and a Freeview TV in the Master bedroom. We wish you a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year. Property Owner
